Common Questions and Answers about Best vitamins depression

871965 tn?1241833146 Hi I was wondering what the latest info is on what prenatal vitamins or best, or what vitamins are most important to take pre-conception and during pregnancy. For now my question relates to pre-natal health. I am taking a pre-natal vitamin and then some calcium magnesium with Vitamin D...any other suggestions. Of course I want as healthy a pregnancy as possible. Any advice is appreciated.
7684852 tn?1437171892 ve been through more than a few detoxes, and I can honestly say that the depression and emotional turmoil are very tough to deal with. Losing the pills is like losing a best friend and our sick brains are unable to imagine enjoying life without them. In retrospect, I guess losing the pills is a lot like losing someone; be it the death of a loved one or something similar. The grief doesn't just end after a predetermined number of days or weeks.
1136046 tn?1260577435 I suffer from depression but do not want to take prescription medications because of all the side effects. Any ideas on what really works as far as vitamins? I'm taking St. John's Wort but doesn't seem to be doing anything.
Avatar f tn I will be at 0 pills on Thursday or Friday. Just have to get through work. I just took the 5 HTP. I hope it helps as far as the depression right now. I haven't even been one day clean, and I already feel depressed.

1042487 tn?1275279899 Hello everyone, please take a moment in your life to read this information. There's a subject that unfortunately people are unaware or don't take it seriously that should be talked more often and a lifestyle change that should be done in correlation with traditional medicine approach and therapy. Let me talk to you about the epidemic malnutrition and how it can be the underlying cause of many diseases.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any tips for depression? I have the amino acids and vitamins but nothing seems to help. Is there a home remedy for depression? Are there any tricks of the trade, so to speak?
Avatar f tn If you feel this is all becoming over-whelming for you, then see a psychiatrist and the two of you determine what route of treatment is best for you. Depression can make it hard for us to be motivated to do anything, or even think straight, and this may be your problem. See a psychiatrist and go from there. Good luck and take care.
Avatar f tn Has your doctor ruled out other causes for the sweating? Both these medications carry "sweating" as a side effect. Is it your GP prescribing this or a psychiatrist? Psychiatrists are most knowlegeable when it comes to these types of medications, and what is best for you. I would ask your doctor "why" he feels Bupropion is a better choice and go from there. It may be that the incidents reported of sweating with the Bupropion is lower than the Citolopram.

Avatar f tn You may have had a major die-off. One thing to try is to go to the best health food store nearby and purchase their best probiotic from the refrigerated section of their vitamin area. Foods that can help with this are cultured foods, such as kim chi, sauerkraut, and pickles.
1346723 tn?1300718741 Coffee is okay during pregnancy! :) And Erm, I duno, I shall look for you, because the doctor just gave me folic acid when I said I was pregant! I shall look now... Newly expectant mothers often want to get started on vitamin supplements right away. Many worry that it will hurt the baby if they are too nauseated to take a vitamin, or if they didn't find out about their pregnancies until they were a few months along. But what do prenatal vitamins really accomplish?

1063764 tn?1272821064 I was watching a documentary and heard about a case where a woman was put on niacin supplements for depression. She was taking very large dosages, but it completely pulled her out of her depression. So far fluoxetine has helped me, but I think in time I will need a larger dosage. I would really rather not do that, so my question is: is it safe to take niacin supplements of 100 mg daily plus an extra multivitamin with 20mg. I don't want to end up taking too many vitamins.
Avatar f tn i am still not working, so maybe that is part of what is keeping me anxious. also, would vitamins and exercise help, or would they make things worse?
Avatar n tn Thanks worried - that's some really good info! Are you good in science?? Sounds like you would be!! :) There's no interactions between vitamins/aminos and suboxone. SSRIs and 5htp/SAMe shouldn't be mixed as the vitamins have an identical effect as the SSRIs. But if your son has just started the sub I would recommend looking into the 5htp/SAMe as well as a multi-vitamin, B complex maybe?
Avatar f tn I have been battling depression majority of my pregnancy and I'm jw how many of you ladies have taken antidepressants while pregnant. Its a scary idea to me but I have tried counciling and herbal remedies with little to no help... I just want to feel happy again...
Avatar m tn there are natural vitamins you can buy. the combo of what they are i am unsure of. i just take my normal vitamins that i have always taken. and i drink one emergen-c a day. it certainly is a mind battle, you just have to win. you can't force yourself to be happy but you can sort out your thoughts and rationalize especially now that you're sober.
