Avatar m tn No animal products, including no dairy, in order to keep saturated fats low and to help maintain a very low LDL cholesterol. It seemed to have worked as my LDL has stayed under 70 and TC < 130. I also walk 8 to 10 miles a week and to a total of about 60 to 90 minutes of other light exercises each week.

Avatar n tn I keep reading that if you do the same exercies than your body gets used to it and stops burning calories like it did when I first started that exercise. I try to study and really try to understand how to loose weight. I am starting to get discouraged. I am really trying and I do feel very healthy...I was never this heavy before I used to be around 115 or less. Types of exercises are : treadmill at 10 incline for about an hour(or more) speed. I do a dvd..
Avatar n tn Maintaining a healthy diet routine is quite difficult if it is not executed as planned. One thing to remember is "no I do NOT like that" to those tempting food/snacks you like so much. I work with dieticians and the first thing they all tell me is that I have to eat Good healthy breakfast, healthy small portion snack 2 hours later, healthy lunch (again healthy - and we know that does not include a big mack), snack and dinner.
Avatar f tn The strictest diet recommended is the 1000 calorie diet, it is best to find somewhere between the 1000 and 2000 where you feel comfortable, not hungry, and that you are happy to maintain. I am on the 1000 calorie diet, and whist i dearly miss a lot of foods, it is worth it, as i'm currently loosing about 4lbs a week. It's really about what foods you're ok to live without for a prolonged time.
Avatar f tn My dad has diabetes whats the best thing for him to eat to maintain normal bloodsugar. Lately his blood sugar has been really high so what do we do.
15347008 tn?1446268459 Don't diet. And make sure to talk to your Dr before starting an work out regimes. If you're only overweight, your best bet will be to maintain your weight and to gain about 10 lbs or so during your pregnancy, and if you're obese your Dr may recommend you lose weight. Walking is a great way to ease into exercise, and there are plenty of prenatal workouts on YouTube. Just ask your Dr what's going to be healthiest for you and baby. As far as eating, aim to stick with fresh foods.

Avatar n tn I DO NOT WANT TO GAIN WEIGHT, and I am unsure how many calories I need to intake to maintain my weight of 124 pounds. I am a HIGHLY active individual. I lose 200 calories a day walking and 700 calories a day doing the elliptical. I do fifteen, one-minute-each, planks per day. I am 5'9. Based on this information, how many calories should I be taking in to maintain my weight? I fear putting weight back on, and I'm hoping that someone can make my woes dissipate.
500923 tn?1210168927 Low carb diet - no bread - pasta - flour - limit whole grains - no sugar natural or artificial. Brown sugar Ok once in a while. Limit fruits high in sugar! Alcohol is sugar too. Limit milk products Maintain a high green veggie diet with lean "good" protein meats - hormone free! Nuts are good and yogart - I know it has milk - but it has many other supporting factors. It a tough change but you will adjust well and won't crave the other stuff after a while.

Avatar f tn Aside indulging in moderate amounts of physical exercise it is also essential to maintain a healthy diet plan. It is important to know that a diet plan is not about cutting down calories; it’s about ‘healthy’ eating. With cutting on diet one may initially lose weight but this may remain static or increase later.
Avatar f tn If so, perhaps you should just relax and enjoy yourself. If you maintain a healthy diet and exercise program, you shouldn't have to worry too much about gaining the weight back.
Avatar f tn after 21 days you will slowly start to introduce starch and sugars into your daily routine. as you do this is helps your body to maintain its healthy weight and not imediately make you blow up if you do eat something wrong. people who gain their weight back don't do the mainenance phase correctly. i wish you the best of luck! btw. i am currently on day 10 of phase 2 and i am down 11lbs! it really does work. also, my mother in law did a 30 day round and lost 40lbs!
Avatar f tn s been only 6 weeks so far and I know I have a lot more work to do but just wondering if this is consistent progress expected with diet/lifestyle change or if my BP isn't responding as well to these changes. I'm not on meds right now but was thinking of waiting until the 90 day mark then deciding. Also, what is the best way to record BP, I was thinking 4 readings 1 minute apart then average of the 3 best out of 4. Thoughts?

Avatar n tn I have been diagonised with low Blood pressure. Can u suggest a suitable diet to regain normalcy?
Avatar m tn While you may be planning to lose 12 kilos in 6 weeks, that's not considered safe weight loss, as recommended, both on this forum and by most medical experts. Safe weight loss is considered to be 1-2 pounds/week, accomplished by lifestyle changes that support and help maintain the loss. Many of us have medical issues that make losing that much weight in so short a time, impossible and in some cases, dangerous.
Avatar f tn d need to maintain your weight, if you were just going to rest all day. In order to lose weight, you need to subtract calories from your BMR, so you'll be burning fat. Typically, adult women should not go below 1200 calories/day. Children/young adults would need more calories.
Avatar m tn Apply calamine lotion at the site, keep the area clean and well moisturized, wear loose, comfortable clothes and maintain good personal hygiene. Talk to your doctor if you need surgery. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. Avatar f tn What is your basal metabolism rate, and how much do you run? There is no point to be so restrictive. It's not all black and white as the app says. The best will be to stick to 1500 calories a day for a week and see where will it get you. On the days you run you can eat more, but it depends on do you run to lose weight or to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system? If you run only because you want to lose, then there is no point in eating more than 1500kcal that day.
