Avatar f tn Ask your psychiatrist to divide your antidepressant dose in two, to take once in the morning and once in the evening. This can reduce sedation. Holy basil not only reduces cortisol but can also reduce blood sugar, which can make you feel tired when it starts to wear off. I find it does this to me, so I only take it when needed -- it might not do this if taken regularly but it's something to consider.

Dog Hi, I would look at diet to help lose weight and exercise to help tone your body. I recommend to others to get their weight under control before trying much more than walking so as to not stress your knees. Control your diet and as your weight drop slowly increase your physical activity. Remember to get a good overall work out as that will help overall toning and as your metabolic rate rises it will also help with losing weight. Good luck.

Avatar n tn Consume more lean meats and legumes to increase the available protein your body needs to rebuild muscles after working out. One to two weeks before you begin training, you should eat at least three servings per day of protein, which equals a piece of meat the size of a deck of cards or one half cup of legumes. Choose to eat more legumes because the high fiber content in beans will prevent constipation.

Avatar n tn Eating a vegetarian diet isn't any different than eating any other way. You need enough protein, complex carbs for energy, and antioxidant rich foods such as colored veggies and a moderate amount of fruit. That's a balanced diet for anyone of any origin. Given that if you're living in India and they've been eating a vegetarian diet there for centuries, there are a host of people there you probably know who can help you.
6896476 tn?1386858324 Yes, a low carb diet is very effective if done properly. You may tend to feel hungry at the beginning because your body won't be use to such a dramatic loss of energy but it will adapt in time. It's important to look into a multivitamin to supplement if you're not going to increase your veggies considerably. You will be minimizing your fruit and sugar intake by a great deal, next to no fruit in fact if your goals are to lose weight really fast but yes it can be done.

Avatar f tn I've been on levothyroxine for 4 months at 25 mcg. Still symptomatic so my endo upped it to 50 mcg. I feel as though I have more energy, however, I've been getting vertigo especially getting up in the morning or standing up quickly. This could be completely unrelated to the med, however I've never experienced this before the increase. Is this just my body adjusting to the increased dosage? If it persists I will call my doc.

Avatar n tn All you have to do is sufficient amount of strength exercises to use up the extra energy. This way the body will convert that energy to muscles rather than fat for your body to store. Where you want that energy to be used is totally up to you. If you want to add bulk to your biceps and triceps you will have to work your arms with weights. If you want to add bulk to your shoulders then you will have to work your shoulders.
