Avatar n tn nt seem to help, the throat clearing seemed to be getting worse. He was then tested for allergies and it was found that he had only a very mild allergy to ragweed and it was so minor the doctor said it did not need to be treated. This is the 2nd doctor we have seen Please help!!
Avatar m tn You may benefit from seeing a doctor and getting a nasal steroid spray and nasal antihistamine spray. Those really help my nasal allergy symptoms. Also, there is an OTC nasal spray here called NasalCrom. It contains cromolyn which is a mast cell stabilizer. Basically it stops the allergic reaction at the source, the nose. It has to be used every four hours though. My personal experience is that I would feel better on the island - fewer pollens to contend with.
Avatar n tn The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently. Once you are better, continue the pranayam once a day. Be patient, as the benefits will show over a period of months.Only by doing you will benefit and feel good because you are helping your body. Those who say I have tried everything.... will be amazed at the result of doing pranayam.
Avatar f tn I only take REACTON when my allergies become uncomfortable in my case for the month of June to get me over the worst of the grass pollen. Ragweed can be an issue for me but I just avoid areas where there is ragweed. I wish you both well.
1152061 tn?1262040956 My general practitioner thought the sore throats were from ragweed. It was always ragweed season when they occured, and batteries of tests for strep throat, yeasts and other things always came back negative. I just got interdermal testing and did in fact come back reactive for ragweed, as well as molds, some pollens, dust mites and, unfortunately, cats ( I have a cat).
Avatar m tn what are the best antihistamines (dust allergy) for somone with an enlarged prostate?
Avatar n tn Can i do a allergy skin ***** test while actively suffering from a allergy. Would i get the correct results?
Avatar n tn Your Vet will have the best choices for congestion relief.....You don't state how old your pug is, but the excess fluids can related to many other diseases/ailments.....For example: If you use an antihistamine thinking it's an allergy when indeed it's really a heart problem, the antihistamine can make the heart worse, so you must get a diagnoses before you treat..... Licking air is usually Nausea or acid reflux....Post nasal drip normally causes a cough...
1666434 tn?1325262350 Thanks for the great input everyone on this, making some changes in diet has certainly helped. Instead of chocolate milk we give him chocolate almond milk and that has become a satisfying alternative to him. When I asked the doctor about milk which I thought was "good" for him she told me its actually one of the worst things for kids. She said it's good for calcium but it causes so many problems.
Avatar n tn I received allergy shots from about 1988 to 2006. I took three shots. I believe one was for cats and dogs, and the other two were for ragweed, pollen, hayfever, etc? I don't remember exactly all that was in the serum. My main concern is that I began taking these shots when I was 3 years old and took them until I was almost 21.
Avatar n tn There is a product for allergy symptoms such as yours called Formula 1 Foundational from King Bio Natural Medicine. I believe it is a homeopathic throat spray. I have never tried this product but I have had good results with other homeopathic products (for reasons other than allergy). This Formula 1 spray costs about $15.00, so it might be worth a try. See if you can find it on the internet. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Stevia is OK, but aspartame is not. Just be careful with stevia, it is related to ragweed, a common allergy.
Avatar n tn i have been struggling with allergies for about ten years. its gotten alot worse over the last three..have been tested i am severely allergic to all tree pollens grass and ragweed pollen mold and dogs..i have tried everything ( including the drops under your tongue) nothing reaaly helps i am tired of feeling like this all time..
Avatar f tn The reaction is from your immune sys and any allergic reaction is not healthy for your body to experience. It can be serious if the allergy becomes more severe. If you ever experience heart or breathing problems then you will need to seek medical help. Antihistamine will reduce the allergy in most cases and can save lives. Many doctors will recommend carrying an Eppi injector just in case the allergy ever becomes life threatening as affecting your heart or breathing.
Avatar f tn ( what he was tested for?????
Avatar n tn What is the best antihistamine for allergic eyes? I am experiencing worse eye allergy than sinus allergy this Spring, and I think it is due to tree pollen in this area of Texas. I have found chlorphenaramine maleate and benadryl do not help.
Avatar f tn My 12 year old daughter was just diagnosed today with this. I read the other posts relating thyroid problems with autoimmune urticaria. Since I have hypothyroidism, I'm guessing that she should be tested for this at her regular doctor's office? Right now all I can afford is the double dose of Zyrtec, but with everything else she's allergic to (7 types of trees, 3 molds, ragweed, cat, feathers, dust mites & roaches of course) the allergy shots would be better for her, right?
