Avatar m tn Hi, I went to see my doctor and she said it is Melasma. Gave me a cream called "Skinoren Cream - Azelaic Acid 20%". I read the description inside the box and it says Skinoren is used for acne. I know I don't have acne and even doctor didnt tell me anything about acne. Would this cream help get rid of Melasma? Should I start using it for 3 months, as doc recomended? If not any alternative that I can find in UK?
Avatar f tn I’m a 26 year old male and have had acne since I was 12. I have tried so many different medications and treatments but none seem to work long-term and afternoon 14 years of this I am very frustrated and just don’t know what to do. Many of the medications seem to help for a couple of months but then my acne always flares back up.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 22 year old female who suffered from bulimia for almost 2 years. Over the past 12 months I have been in recovery (dramatically reduced episodes from daily to monthly) , and over the past 2-3 months I have been completely bulimia free. During my bulimia I lost my periods completely and it is only since I started recovering 12 months ago that they returned.

Avatar n tn The brand you were using is known to clear hormonal acne around the mouth, as will Diane35. I have acne and peri-oral dermatitis and use Diane35 (called Dianette in the UK) oxytetracycline and Differin gel.

Mild papulo-pustular (inflammatory) acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids, topical antibiotics (such as erythromycin). Moderate inflammatory acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids combined with oral antibiotics (tetracyclines). Isotretinoin is an option.

313193 tn?1194192298 Another skin product that I found very useful was Neutrogena (for sensitive skin) - not sure if you have it in the UK, but it workes wonders for me when I have acne. I use the stuff that has little microbeads in it - it helps get the dirt/oil out of the poors. It literally feels like hand lotion with sand in it. Your skin could be very sensitive and thus by using a more powerful solution it will just harm your skin.
Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Hi. Acne is no longer just a teenage problem. Here in the Uk the average age for acne has now risen above 30 for the first time. Avoid using heavy moisturisers as this can add to the problem. The best over the counter remedy for spots is, in my experience, Freederm. However, prescription medications are often much more beneficial. Talk to your doctor to see if oral or topical antibiotics could help you, and also ask about hormonal solutions.
Avatar n tn 1) What is the current and most effective treatment for Acne Inversa? (Most of my reading online was from relatively dated material) I have been taking Accutane for approximately one month and have so far not seen any favorable results. I have also read that Accutane does little for Acne Inversa. Is there truth to this? 2) I have read that Carbon Dioxide Laser Ablation may be just as effective as skin grafts, however, it was an emerging treatment.
