Common Questions and Answers about Best acne control product

Avatar f tn Hi there! The best way to control acne during pregnancy is to keep the skin clean and oil free at all times, avoid stress and indulging in mild-moderate exercises. If this does not seem to help, one may use topical erythromycin ointment (sparingly) after discussing with your doctor. Any medication should not be taken without medical advice and prescription. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn One day, I stumbled at an olay regenerist cream cleanser (black one) in my mom's bathroom. The product did not indicate that it was for anti-acne but when i used it regularly my pimples cleared. This was the only thing that worked well for me. Im so happy and thankful.
Avatar f tn Hi. These products are not particularly effective at clearing acne. The best over the counter gel is, in my view, Freederm which contains nicotinamide to reduce acne inflammation. If this proves of limited benefit see your doctor for Duac gel (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) or Differin gel (adapalene 0.1%). Acne is caused when androgens (male hormones found in both boys and girls) stimulate the sebaceous (oil) glands.
Avatar n tn I having my acne on my face. I have changed my daily cleansing product and cream but it doesn;t help as well. I have tried to control my food diet as well. I just came accross this info in this ************.com hope it will help.
Avatar n tn The birth control pills you should use to help acne are either Diane35 or Yasmin as they're anti-androgen so if you're not already on one of those, switch to them. Do not use progestorone only mini pills or get the Depo shot as this will make acne worse. The best topical lotions are Differin or Dalacin-T available from your doctor. You could also take a course of anti-biotics such as oxytetracycline or erythromycin.
Avatar n tn if you want to clear your skin from acne over night, the Acne Zap natural lotion made by Ovante works pretty good on most severe and inflamed acne, if you have mild acne, you can use The ABC Acne and Blemish Control cream, both products are natural and can be used as long as needed in order to control acne.
895242 tn?1241553326 It would be unusual to have rosacea at your age, the redness may be caused by acne or you may have seborrheic dermatitis. Medicines which control sebum (such as Dianette or Yasmin) will clear this. If you do have rosacea your doctor can prescribe an oral antibiotic called Oxytetracycline -this will heal acne too. By following a good regime as detailed above, we would expect to see excellent or total skin clearance.
313193 tn?1194195898 I use the Dove with moisturizer soap and it works really well for me. Another skin product that I found very useful was Neutrogena (for sensitive skin) - not sure if you have it in the UK, but it workes wonders for me when I have acne. I use the stuff that has little microbeads in it - it helps get the dirt/oil out of the poors. It literally feels like hand lotion with sand in it. Your skin could be very sensitive and thus by using a more powerful solution it will just harm your skin.
Avatar n tn the sun in some way.Its main purpose is for keeping clear skin, but it supposedly is able to help control acne. It is from a company called Danoz direct.
1290893 tn?1272089664 Hey don't take those sleeping pills! But do try to get a good nights sleep at a regular time. Another key thing... do what you can to use the internet as a tool to learn the most you can about acne! That's what I have been doing and I found my own solution without the help or need of a Doctor. Please check out the post I made, I have mentioned what has worked for me. I'm almost certain you can use some of that information to help yourself cure your own acne.
Avatar n tn Not everyone has the same acne problem and so the best acne cures for one person may not be the best acne cures for another. Acne attacks different people differently. For some, it’s just a mild attack which will be managed quite satisfactorily with some simple facial cleansing routines. No more required. No need to search out any acne treatments, certainly no need to investigate the best acne treatments. For others acne can be a serious problem indeed.
280418 tn?1306329510 Certain contraceptive pills (Yaz, Diane35 and Ortho Tri-Cyclen) block the action of androgens are are prescribed to control acne as well as provide birth control. If you cannot take the pill due to migraines ask your doctor for a gel called Differin. This is a topical synthetic retinoid which counteracts the abnormal skin processes invloved in acne. Eloise.
Avatar f tn I have tried SEVERAL products from Proactiv, Retin-A, Doxycycline antibiotics, and back on B/C, and nothing is working. I know it's hormonal but what's the best product (including antibiotics) can I use to level them out internally. Is there something else I can ask my dermatologist about trying? I'm getting really desperate. And what about Microdermabrasion for dark spots?
Avatar n tn I have just found the BEST product EVER for acne and have to tell the world about it!!! I am a 37 year old woman who has NEVER had acne in my life. All of a sudden, I went off of my birth control pill and I have experienced TERRBILE blemishes all over my face. My dermatologist suggested an over the counter products by md skincare called All-Over Blemish Solution. It literally has cleared up my skin in less than 5 days! It is not drying but also doesnt leave my skin feeling greasy.
313193 tn?1194195898 Hi Dan, there are lots of ways to control your acne so don't despair. Masturbating is a natural way of exploring your own body and will definately not cause acne. First, don't pick your spots you'll spread the infection and could cause scarring. Second, as you know, over the counter products are of limited benefit so go back to your doctor. If your doctor is not sympathetic, find one who is. Try a prescription lotion such as Duac gel, Dalacin-T lotion, or Differin.
Avatar n tn I recently stopped taking birth control and now I have acne on my face, neck, chest, and back. Can anyone recommend an herb or something that would conteract what my body is missing?
1288132 tn?1312298004 these can take off the top layer of your skin and cause your glands to product more oil, clogging pores in the process. If you do spot acne-troubled areas, do NOT mess with them. Remember that these are already weeks in the making, and squeezing or picking blemishes can force the infected area to regress back inside, further troubling the region and possibly leave a scar. If necessary, seek help from a dermatologist for alternative treatments. 5.
1297592 tn?1278902201 I'll being getting some Eucerin as well. For my hormonal breakouts, I'm on BCP so my acne has been under's just the horrible dryness. BUT I will definitely have to keep an eye out for something I'm allergic to. THANKS!
Avatar f tn It can take months, usually up to a year, to really get this type of acne under control. Three months is too soon to really tell if the prescription is working. While on the medication, have him wash with a mild cleanser, like Cetaphil, and rinse with cold water - this will reduce swelling and redness (inflammation). An alcohol-free toner, like Nuetrogena, after cleansing can be helpful as well.
Avatar m tn Bacteria on the skin feeds off this excess oil, blocking the pores and leading to acne. The best way to clear acne is to see your doctor for a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline 250mg twice daily and/or a topical retinoid such as Differin (adapalene). Female acne patients can also take the combined contraceptive pill to stabilise hormones. Do not pop pimples, this spreads bacteria under the skin leading to more pimples, delayed healing time and even permanent scarring. Eloise.
568659 tn?1256143582 face soap again that has salicyclic acid in it - yes AP this is my first ( and I had a miscarriage 2 months prior to getting pregnant with this baby so I am trying my best to be very careful) but thank you for all of the advice - my acne is awful huge painful pimples all along my t-zone especially on my chin - i feel so ugly and fat I thought you were supposed to have beautiful skin when you were pregnant??
Avatar f tn My face adapts quickly, so I alternate their 3-in-1 cleanser and the washclothes, combined with the BCT (blemish control toner) and acne gel when needed and that really helps. I have struggled with acne since... I don't remember not, and this is the only thing that has helped my skin. Plus, it is so great in so many other ways.
Avatar n tn I dont have bad acne now(although i did in the past) just a few pimples here and there but they bother very much i want to have nice clear dr.said i should take accutain because thats the only thing that will really work. I wanted to know : A.if my face will get really bad while taking it. B. if there is anything else i could take that is less strong but will work as well..
Avatar m tn She's presently on Liadyl and her ulcerative colitis is under control but the cystic acne will not go away. She goes to the dermatologist constantly for injections, but the cysts just go down for a day and come right back up again. The dermatologist has given her a few prescriptions but nothing helps at all. She took Accutane for one week and ended up in the hospital with a severe colitis attack. She never had a problem with acne until 4 years ago when she developed the ulcerative colitis.
Avatar n tn You can have your hormones levels tested. They may show you have too many androgens, or that you are particularly sensitive to the affect of androgens. However, taking an anti-androgen contraceptive pill carries higher risks in patients over 35. Have you ever taken accutane (isotretinoin)?it is the only drug currently available that offers hope of long term remission.
Avatar n tn But I can say that my ZENO is like one of the best things in the world. I spare no expense on experimental acne products, and ZENO has been one of the best investments Ive EVER made. You feel something coming, and you literally put the Zeno on your new breakout and it can vanish in a day. My problem is I get WAY to obessive, like yourself. Youre meant to use the Zeno 2 times in a 24 hour period on one spot. YOU HAVE TO USE AS DIRECTED.
Avatar m tn I once had 5 litres every day for 10 days and it was the best my skin ever felt/looked during my acne phase. I basically drowned myself but it worked the best for me. Too bad I can't do that every day now because I'm sure my skin would be flawless but wow, it's exhausting drinking so much. Best wishes!
Avatar n tn I understand your concern regarding this uncontrollable acne. Indeed it may be associated with hormone changes linked to birth control . Avoid popping or scratching them. Drink plenty of water. Take a good sleep. If the symptoms persist then oral and topical antibiotics like Clindamycin and tretinoin/isotretinoin or accutane may be needed. Stop smoking and too much intake of coffee and tea. It is best to consult a dermatologist if symptoms are severe or persistent. I hope it helps. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn ) A third course of Accutane remains your best hope of a long term remission from acne. 80% of patients only need one course but 20% of patients, including myself, need a second or third course. Eloise.
