Avatar n tn No connection between the smell of cigarettes and SIDS that I know of. However there is a definite connection between smoking around your baby and SIDS. Also, if you are a smoker, the dust from the cigarette smoke will rest in your furniture and can cause SIDS. THis is because the dust will be breathed into the lungs and rest there.

Maybe it's finally stabilized, hope so.
Avatar f tn There are a lot of mixed medical opinions out there regarding this so you should do what you feel comfortable with both physically and emotionally...caffeine is tough to kick so if you decide to cut it out of your diet do it slowly by switching to a mix of decaf and regular...I personally gave it up while I was prego but I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks...however I quickly went back to my old habit and it is a b**** to kick it again!

Avatar f tn There are many studies showing some benefits such as lowering the risk for pre-eclampsia. Most doctors will probably tell you not to take anything because there's no evidence that it is safe, that doesn't mean that it isn't safe- it just hasn't been studied. But more and more studies are being done that actually show some benefits. The question is how much is safe? I would think a small dose would be fine from what I've read.
