Avatar f tn I know that this Coffee Story has been splashed all over the news today in regard to Decaf Coffee and Liver Disease. Decided to do some additional investigation on my own and one of my sources was the American Cancer Society funding of liver disease. Wonder if the limitation of Coffee was because of Caffiene? We do know that Caffiene does play a part in certain cardiovascular diseases. Hep C meds can cause tachycardia as well as arrhythmia's and could be contraindicated with Caffiene.
Avatar n tn I am not a big soda drinker or coffee drinker mainly water and a cup to two cups or iced tea a day. I have cut down on the tea quite a bit to one cup every other day to every two days. However I want to know if it will still effect my baby. Any help will be appreciated!
Avatar m tn It scared the hell out of me and I started looking up ways to cleanse my body of all the toxins that have built up. Well I stumbled upon green tea and the suppossive amazing benefits from green tea. So since that month has past all I've been drinking is green tea and water no pop not even really juice or anything. Still smoke still drink but I feel like incredibly better. Breathing better feel better sleep better like the list goes on. Even things like my libido seems to have increased.

Avatar f tn ) I have two friends with healthy babies and they drank tea like it was going out of fashion. Coffee has a bit more caffeine in it though. I think it's more personal opinion but I would say switch to decaff.
435139 tn?1255460391 The good news on caffeine drank during pregnancy, from coffee and tea, is that a moderate amount is fine. Two studies, one by Danish scientists who interviewed more than 88,000 pregnant women, and the other by the Yale University School of Medicine, had similar findings on caffeine during pregnancy. The concerns over caffeine were that it would lead to low birth weight or miscarriage. And this is still true of a very high daily intake of coffee.

315996 tn?1429054229 I hate to bring bad news but I have read that any kind of milk added to tea or coffee louses up the benefits. I can't remember the particulars . Jim posted something about milk wrecking the good in coffee a long time ago...something about the combo causing carcinogens. If I remember correctly, the milk added to tea binds the very thing that causes the benefit . I don't like milk in tea but I have added vanilla soy milk to coffee and it wasn't bad.
461781 tn?1285609481 So...I have a regular cup of coffee with milk and sugar every day in the morning, its not strong coffee, just coffee. And usually at work I'll have a cup of tea, either Green tea or Decaff tea. I don't consider that a lot of caffeinne, but I don't know if that is good or bad while ttc.
Avatar f tn Epidemiologic studies have suggested that there is a cause and effect associated with coffee intake and its benefits on the liver. These findings are supported by the few randomized controlled trials available. In one study comparing patients infected with hepatitis C, those who drank 3 cups of coffee per day or more received the greatest benefit.
Avatar m tn The study included 766 patients infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) who were asked to report their intake of coffee, green tea and black tea. The patients were seen every three months during the nearly four-year study, and liver biopsies were taken at 18 months and 3.5 years to determine the progression of liver disease. Patients who drank three or more cups of coffee per day were 53 percent less likely to have liver disease progression than those who didn't drink coffee.

Avatar f tn t drink straight from the pot. I drink a little coffee, tea or cocoa still but try to keep it around one to one and a half cups a day. It's a big cut for me anyway but it won't hurt baby and I don't feel quite so deprived. However, you may notice with morning sickness that you actually can't drink coffee for a little while -- the smell turns a lot of pregnant moms off.
Avatar n tn I read that when taking Strattera, one should not eat chocolate or consume tea/coffee. Is it true? My daughter reacts strongly against this because as a kid she can't accept that chocolate is not allowed (though she does not eat this frequently).

Avatar f tn Drives me crazy. I went to my husbands work dinner and one of his colleagues came up to me and said I shouldn't be eating the medium-rare steak I was halfway through because she heard all meat should be well done. Why are women so nasty to each other? Feels like the debates never stop, what you can vs what you can't eat, who gave birth naturally vs csection, breastfeeding vs bottlefeeding. Seems odd that we all feel we can criticise each others choices when it comes to babies.
