Avatar n tn Beta blockers like metoprolol and ACE inhibitors like benazepril have been been shown to be of value in patients with congestive heart failure as well as for hypertension. Simvastatin is of value for patients with both diabetes and heart disease. Talk to your doctor and changes can be made to minimize the side effects.
Avatar f tn My dog was recently put on Benazapril for her kidney issues. Some of the side effects say it can cause kidney issues. Anyone have any idea what I should be watching for to differentiate the Benazapril side effects from her kidney failure symptoms? Anyone have experience with it? One of the side effects is also anorexia, and she is not interested in food today. I can't tell if this is because of the new meds or her illness.
1394098 tn?1385960134 I'm finishing week 42 of a 48 week tx. Do sx get worse the longer you are on tx. In the last few weeks, I've forgotten more, ate less, and am tired all of the time. The fatigue is the worst thing. I sleep all of the time. It's hard for the husband because he is alone all the time. Heck even my cats wait outside my door. I don't let them in often because I want to sleep and they want love. I give them a lot when I'm up.

Called the dr, he told me to stop the valsartan, don't take anything for 2 days and then back on the benazepril and see him next week.

Avatar m tn amlodipine, Victrelis (boceprevir) Boceprevir may increase the blood levels and effects of amLODIPine. This can increase the risk of serious side effects such as irregular heart rhythm, fluid retention, swelling, heart failure, and excessively low blood pressure. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications.

1761287 tn?1313824787 Steroids are one of the important medications to treat asthma in cats and are necessary and can be life saving in serious cases. All medications, even those considered natural have side effects. The benefits do outweigh the risks in most cases if used appropriately. I really do recommend that you have a chest X-Ray if asthma is suspected. I also recommend that you follow your vets advise.
Avatar f tn Triamcinolone is a steroid which does have side effects, vomiting being a very common one. San Ren Tang is an herb with only anecdotal info on it's effectiveness. It is generally used for digestive issues (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, etc. Have you gotten back to your vet to tell him about the vomiting? He may be able to prescribe a different steroid or change the dosage to alleviate the vomiting or prescribe an additional medication/diet to alleviate the vomiting.
Avatar n tn Neuropathy from these medications is not a common side effect. There is at least one sporadic case reported in the literature of neuropathy associated with an ACE inhibitor. When reviewing side effects from these medications, paresthesias (abnormal sensation) is reported to be associated with ACE inhibitors in less than 1%. Patients on amlodipine on the other hand, sometimes report abnormal sensation in the legs but mostly associated with “swelling”, and not associated with neuropathy.

7588086 tn?1400793414 The danger is toxoplasmosis, a parasitic infection carried by cats, transmitted in cat feces, and found in gardens where cats poop. If you get toxoplasmosis when you're pregnant, your baby can get it, too, in utero, and it can cause significant neurological damage. So if you know you've never had toxoplasmosis and have cats, you shouldn't change the litter box, and you'll want to be careful about gardening.
