Avatar f tn I will be doing a lot of traveling this summer, lots of airports; does an orthopaedic boot support both knee and ankle? I use Voltaren gel and take Tramadol twice a day.
Avatar f tn I've been on 100 patches for over 4 years now for my knee after finding out I had been wrongly diagnosed and 4 knee ops later which I have not needed I had a tubular re alignment,I have now been told to come off this medication just am really scared as I don't have much faith as you can imagine.I spoke to my GP and to be honest I was only spoke to for 5 minutes about it and no real information .
Avatar n tn Hi all, I am not sure why I am writing down all this. I guess I am looking for some support. It's been almost 5 months now since my high risk exposure. The anxiety gets worse and worse, so I finally decided to go back to my home country to do the final test. I've been tested negative after one week and 39 days. It didn't really give me much relieve. rather the opposite: I got so anxious that I couldn't go to a further test.
Avatar m tn Because of the atrophy in my leg, I will have to wear a brace for the rest of my life and this brace seems to be the one that gives me the most support. I hope your knee is better and you do not have to wear a brace indefinitely but if you do, I recommend the Donjoy Defiance III. It is a custom fitted brace. Your doctor should be able to help. Best wishes to you and stay positive. You'll be fine...
Avatar f tn Im in the uk but I use one called nexcare its brilliant belly and back support its my daily essential! Im not sure if you can get it outside of uk or not. I feel incredibly heavy at the front without it. Good luck!
Avatar f tn My doctor has referred me to specialists (still waiting, UK hospitals take a long time) due to something showing up on my knee X-rays that they done in the hospital while I was treated.

Avatar m tn I have constant knee pain, swelling and my knee gives away. The pain is primarily on the inner side of the knee. I have had several kneesurgeries, one in the last 6months that was supposed to fix all these issues. I have been told its just arthritis, however after surgery i was told no signs of arhritis. a physical therapist told me i have a loose mcl. what to do?
Avatar n tn I am a 36 yo female diagnosed with Severe MVP Barlow valve myxomatous degeneration affecting both anterior and posterior leaflets. My cardiologists have said I have anywhere from mild to moderate-severe regurgiation but as of now, are not suggesting repair of the valve. How soon do you think I would need this valve repaired? I understand there is a "window of opportunity" to repair it before damage is done and it is unrepairable.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know off any support groups you can go to in Belfast?to talk to people with the same depression illness as me?

Avatar f tn I thought you had to be on income support to get the grant as I had it with my first 2 as I was a single parent on income support child tax credits and housing benefit but the 3rd and with this one I'm a stay at home mum and hubby works full time (back then it wasn't a good wage but now he does earn alot) and we don't get anything so I think it may be the same for you I'm afraid :)
Avatar f tn See your chiropractor, seriously, I have a knee that does that, he works on it and it is fine. In the mean time, try wearing a knee brace to give it support.
Avatar f tn Do you know if its possible to ask for a different mifwife? Mine wasn't helpful AT ALL at my last appointment. She pressed my belly really hard (no idea why) that I was actually crying and then listened to babys heartbeat for about 3 seconds only. She didn't have time for my questions and just in general seemed uninterested.I'm 30 weeks and really want someone who can support me properly as I also have no friends and family nearby...

1435702 tn?1283631197 Make a difference, if you cant walk can you go along to a local walk and show your support, can you help advertise a walk near you. If America can do so can we. Together we can be stronger, GPs will know the name of Chiari, benefits agencies, care agencies and your friends will all know what we have, what Chiari malformation is and how they can help support us. Join Chiari walk uk, details on facebook and chiari.co.uk forums page. Anyone else fed up explaining what Chiari is????????????

Avatar f tn A couple weeks ago I was cleaning and I got down on my knees to clean up a spill and when I was getting up I heard a pop that sounded like a gun going off and it hurt now if I bend my knee it catches and I have to force it to straighten when it straightens it makes a thunk kinda sound and the knee looks like it shifts. I hope this makes sense I have no insurance right now but hope to have it in the next 30 to 60 days but if anyone can give me a hint on what could be wrong I would be so greatful.
Avatar f tn We are struggling financially to support ourselves whilst i am too sick to work but now we are expected to pay for MIL as well. We give her £300 a month housekeep and pay for our animals but she keeps demanding extra now her money has stopped. I don't know a lot about the benefits system and would be grateful if anyone knew a way to help her out because it's causing so much resentment when she sees us buying baby items and things she deems 'luxuries'.
1559627 tn?1294774398 I was diagnosed with Barlow Syndrome (or Mitral Valve Prolapse) after I lost consciousness about a year ago. I have regular pain in my chest and shortness of breath, which increases severely when I get a shock (fright), stress and exercise. Sometimes, for no reason, I get sudden numbing pain in my chest and blackouts because of this. I also feel weak after such a episode for about 2 days. I am worried that I was misdiagnosed. Can anyone give me more insight?
4185614 tn?1353272513 You can claim as soon as you are 29 weeks pregnant but you have to be in receipt of income support, job seekers or tax credits. If you don't get any of those benefits but are on a low income, you may be able to get a budgeting loan or crisis loan from the social fund. This does have to be paid back but only at an amount you can afford but you can have upto £1500. You can apply for these at the jobcentre.
Avatar f tn I never know where the pain is going to be when I wake up. It has been so sever in my arm that I couldn't move it, had to take cortisone. Has been in my neck, foot, knee, eyes and finger so far. The finger was the only spot that showed obvious inflammation. I am 63 and I do have arthritis. Any ideas?
