Avatar m tn Being that I have had eczema on my hands many times, I assumed at the beginning of Dec., that's what I had when it started itching but soon I had an itch on my eyelid, which progressed to both. They turned red, flaky, and very embarassing, with bags underneath. In order to go out of my house required tons of makeup. Due to being unemployed/uninsured since Oct., I tried several home remedies. It was almost gone and is now returning. My hands are red, itching, peeling, cracking(ouch!
Avatar n tn he told me it was the skin infection Cellulitis and He immediately gave me an Intravanous in hospital and Clindahexal (clindamycin) and Bactroban topical cream. The clindahexal is a very strong dose (8 a day) at a 12 day course. I saw rapid results from the IV and the healing of the infection slowed down drastically a day or two later. So I went back and got another IV about a week later and a 3rd one the following day, as it was showing rapid results.
Avatar m tn I believe he has 2 separate problems - the first being the spots on his head which we currently believe are eczema, and the 2nd seems to have started with a mosquito bite. Here is a basic timeline of events: 1/2009 (3 months old) - My son developed a couple of quarter-size spots on his head, with a rough crusty texture, yellowish in color. The pediatrician diagnosed the spots as cradle cap and said they would go away with time.
Avatar n tn A common type of hand eczema, called dyshidrotic eczema which occurs only on palms, soles, and sides of fingers and toes. Tiny opaque bumps called vesicles, thickening, and cracks are accompanied by itching. This itching gets worse at night and in warm weather. The pus filled lesions could be due to staphylococcus aureus, which is responsible for most skin infections. Eczema, basically, is a form of dermatitis, or inflammation of the upper layers of the skin.

Avatar m tn Hello, This can be due to an allergic reaction (say to body lotions, condoms, soaps etc) or it can be a skin condition like eczema, dermatitis etc or it can be a fungal infection. Other than that it can be a simple bacterial infection or balanitis. I suggest you to get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done. The other method is by getting a biopsy skin done.

616582 tn?1225068601 My doctor put me on Bactrim for a sinus infection. I have had a slight reaction to it in the past. A couple hours after taking it I started getting a really bad itch on my penis. The skin under the helmet also swelled way up and it hurts a bit. I've taken Bactrim about 5 days now and the skin directly under the lip of the helmet has been peeling and is really sore. My doc says I'm not alleric to Bactrim and this is a coincidence but I'm not sure.
Avatar f tn There are also many ointments that will be tried on you most likely as time goes on but a decent one to start with is Clobetasol, and even Bactroban can help in many cases. Sadly you will find that not many Dermatologists are good at treating us as they try to treat us like psoriasis and eczema patients which we aren't.

Avatar m tn I presented with only one sore at my cheekbone and was given clindamycin orally for 14 days and Bactroban ointment for topical use. The sore was believed to be an early indication of MRSA. I quickly developed cellulitis and swelling near, but not touching, the apparent abscess, as well as blisters in my nose. I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban.

Avatar f tn Also, I noticed that my entire body felt like it was constantly trembling and that my pulse was constantly rapid. I went back to the doctor and he took a culture and gave me bactroban to put on the burn until the results come back. Since then, the area around the burn seems very faintly pink (when I had the cellulitis it was red) and still warm and tender to the touch, and also that I am experiencing alot of numbness and tingling and a burning sensation on my left leg, both arms, and my face.
