11473749 tn?1437899164 I'm definitely going to be using my tens machine for the first stage of Labour, already got that packed but can't decide with pain relife to use after if pain gets unbearable. Which pain relief will you be using/having and why?
Avatar f tn Conderdicting myself.. I have a tense machine to help relive back pain.. im 31 weeks prego and have horrible hip/back pain.. has anyone used one during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn s a machine that you can use to alleviate pain during labor. Pretty much you have these four sticky patches that you place onto your back and it sends a small electrical current to your muscles and when you get a contraction you press the button and it stimulates the muscles. Instead of pain messages you feel like pins and needles tingling. It's the non invasive pain relief that does not affect baby or any monitoring you may need.
11473749 tn?1437899164 I've had lower back pain all morning for 5 hours & it's not going away like it usually does. I'm due tomorrow so wondering or hoping more like that this is the beginning of Labour. I've got my tens machine out and it's helping take away this dull pain. Anyone else planning on using a tens machine or have had any experience with one, how was it for you? A lot of women don't know about it it's a shame because its a really good form of pain relief in my opinion..

Avatar f tn Hi Mamas! I just can't make my mind up about what pain relief method to go for in labour. What methods did you go for and what was your experience? Epidural, gas, injection,...would you choose the same method again? Why/ why not? Thank you!
11473749 tn?1437899164 I've had 3 babies. First one had epidural and gas&air such didn't recall of help with pain relief. 2nd just gas &air. 3rd I used a tens machine gas&air and let me tell you it took nearly all the pain of labour away! I'm now pregnant with my 4th and not that worried about labour because I now know about the tens machine. Has anyone else used one and did they work for you? Which brand would you recommend?
6068453 tn?1380396210 The best thing for you to do is talk with your OB and if he doesn't answer all your questions/concerns about the different methods of anesthesia available I'm sure you could set up a meeting with someone from anesthesia at the hospital your delivering at. They of course should have a much better explanation and assessment of what anesthesia is best for you. Ladies have natural child birth all the time. Hopefully the tens unit help you through. They do work for some people.

Avatar m tn I am a healthy 47 year old male, who has had a lower back fusion surgery 1 year ago. I am having upper thigh pain, numbness and heaviness, even after the back surgery that. The fusion was not only supposed to take care of my back issues but also the leg problems. They figured that the lower leg problems were caused by a pinched nerve. Now that the nerve is no longer pinched I am still having these problems. Does anyone have any advice?
Avatar f tn Any suggestions im only 5 months and already having horrible back pain!
Avatar f tn I begged and begged for relief and i finally was prescribed vicodin and that helps ttemendously but honestly what was better relief than the pain killers was the chiropractor!! I still take pain meds occasionally when even going to the practor doesnt help and being this late in pregnancy it only gets worse cause more problems keep getting added to the reoccuring ones. Anyways, i can completely relate and i am very sorry you are feeling this way.
4194487 tn?1370046144 So what do yous do for back pain relief? Obviously cant take heaps of pain killers but my back pain is just getting worse day by day, i have found some relief when i stretch my back out. But yeah, any other suggestions?
407812 tn?1211307057 I was wold to go see a chiropractor for the pain in back of my head but when I go all he do is massages my back first with a machine then he cracks my back then my neck... So I tell myseff, how would this help with my headaches? I really dont know lol.
Avatar m tn After going on CPAP, they then sometimes start sleeping on their backs because they discover they can now breathe comfortably in this position. This new posture can cause back pain because the body isn't used to the position; muscles are stretched in new ways and the back may not be adequately supported. Just a thought but that may be what's happening to you. The solution may be as simple as going back to side sleeping. Glad to hear the CPAP therapy has worked so well for you.
Avatar f tn food can cause breast pain caffeine does affect many women by dilating vessels and stretching nerves, and many people find relief after cutting back on coffee. Salt works the same way for other women. Increasing fiber and those dark green leafy vegetables can help by flushing out excess estrogen. Some women find relief by taking a short fast or detoxification. I suggest seeing your doctor!
2022074 tn?1406093507 Severe back pain, brough on suddenly. Decrease ability to move with out pain(sneezing causes pain) Usualy in lower back only. Pain extends into legs often, too. Pressing on thigh, or sometimes a spot in back helps. What are the causes?
Avatar n tn I also was tried on flexeril and later neurotin all with no relief for the pain. I was given a TENS machine and had another round with therapy all with no relief. I received an epidural injection in my lower spine and still no relief. I was discharged from the care after 7 months with a lot of pain meds and told good luck. It has been two years I take ibuprophen 1000mg twice a day, tylenol extra strenghth and tylenol PM but continue to have pain to the point now that I cannot sleep.
1986676 tn?1329862471 My ANC dropped to .1 and they didn't want it that low. I don't think I will be continuing with three doses forever. My normal ANC is low. I had a diagnose of autoimmune neutropenia prior to treatment. They don't want it to become zero. Did you understand I was taking 1/2 doses three times a week. That's less than two full injections. With that dose my numbers have been around 1.6. . My doctor is considered one of the best in the midwest.
