Avatar n tn I had a roommate who used one of these in bad weather, and Gym is right, it's much easier to maintain and use than exercise equipment. I like the home exercise equipment, but as i said, it always turns out to need a lot of maintenance even when new.
Avatar f tn Hi. I've had back pain for several months now. I spoke to my doctor earlier in the week and he said to avoid digging, etc but continue to run (but to do it on the flat and avoid hills). He didn't give me a diagnosis but was talking about pinched nerves (which seemed to fit with other symptoms). The last few days I have however had neck pain. I have also had periods of nausea but it comes and goes. Do you think that it would be safe to continue exercising?
Avatar f tn Anymore than that and will come right back. By July you could lose about 30 pounds if you eat right and maintain a healthy workout plan, but any more than that and you will gain it back very quickly. I've always found by obsessing over the number on the scale does no good. It's about feeling good and being healthy.
Avatar n tn Swimming/Water Aerobics, stationary bike, walking, Core strengthening exercises will not only tone up your stomach muscles but can also help to relieve back pain. Strong abs help support the back during any lifting or bending activities as well as walking. The plank exercise will strengthen the abs as well as your shoulders, chest and even make you sweat if you hold it long enough or add some lifting arm movements. Have you considered taking a Yoga class?

Avatar n tn He has back compression issues from being in military and wearing heavy equipment. No one seems to feel there is a concern, tests come back ok, but he continues to feel "off". What are we missing?
Avatar f tn Are you saying while working at a constant/level exercise aerobic level your HR will drop from 180 to 34? This sounds like equipment failure to me. I did read that you get these strange readings on different equipment, but are you using the same transmitter? For example, my Polar wrist monitor with a chest strap will also drive the HR on some tread mills and other equipment, so if the chest strap/transmitter is producing errors, those errors will be displayed on all compatible equipment.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with bulging disc and a frozen shoulder. I have been through everything from pain injections...to physical therapy, through chiropractor and acupuncture treatment...White the pain injections, chiropractor and acupuncture helps and all only helps temporary. I am wondering if bearing the pain and doing exercises to strengthen my neck and shoulders would be a better solutions on helping my pain long term.

Avatar n tn Today, which is when I added the monitor, it showed that I stayed at a 30 for almost a minute, then went to a 0 for a couple of seconds, and then slowly climbed back up to a 40, 41, 50... then it spiked again at a 200. After my run, as I was cooling down (which I obviously stopped running right away), I remained at a 187-193 until turning the treadmill off. Even while stretching I found I stayed at a 180, and at one point I dropped to a 106 then back to a 180-something again...
1906433 tn?1321844691 I had a craniotomy in April 2011. I am still having trouble getting back in to exercise. However, my NS said that I can't actually hurt myself as far as damage to brain, it's just a matter of me being uncomfortable and having difficulty. From what I gather after reading many people's experiences, it is a very individual thing. But I can tell you it does seem to be very normal to have trouble getting back into exercise, and it is common for fatigue and other issues to last for a year.
Avatar f tn When choosing exercise type, light, moderate or vigorous. Is that based on the exercise itself or how many times a week its done. Please let me know.

Avatar f tn Do I feel good on the off days because of the stretching and exercise or do I feel good because the stretching and exercise is taken out of the equation? I hope you are all well and having a "good" day. FU MS!
Avatar n tn Tai chi is another ancient exercise form that’s a perfect fit for coping with today’s arthritis pain. This slow and graceful series of movements puts your joints through their full range of motion without any strain or heavy impact. Studies show that the fluid motions of tai chi can reduce arthritis pain while improving mobility, breathing, balance, and relaxation. As with yoga, the only person you are competing with in tai chi is yourself.
Avatar f tn Whenever I sleep flat on my back I get a really bad pain in the bottom of my back, Is that normal?
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing back pain for around 10months. The pain often occurs around the lower back and when it gets very bad I may feel pain at the middle part of my back too. It will always happen when I stand, stood, bend slightly forward for too long, running, jumping and carrying heavy loads or exerting strength. I will feel the pain when I do any of these and the pain will cause my back to feel VERY VERY weak that I will want to immediately sit down to rest my back.
Avatar m tn I experience increased tightness and pain with exercise....the more I use it the less I am able to do. Even walking causes discomfort. I am not able to pick up my foot and move it back as if trying to touch my butt with my foot. I have a tight, full feeling and its painful. to sit for a period and then attempt to get up and walk is almost unheard of now. I have to stand slowly and let my leg adjust to the knew position or it will not support me, very very painful.
4847640 tn?1362723927 Just wanted to share since many people have the same story as me. Took pills for back pain (used a cane to walk at one point when I pulled the muscles)and ended it in addiction and withdraw. About a month b4 I kicked(on jan 17 2013)I started to do back exercises to strengthen my back. I'm glad I started while on pain killers but it helped my back a lot.
Avatar f tn When i have back pain i use an exercise ball to bend over backwards.
Avatar f tn A recent study conducted by the University of Buffalo’s Concussion Management Clinic suggests that cardio vascular exercise performed on a equipment that does not involve a lot of impact or bouncing such as a stationary bike, elliptical or treadmill can speed the recovery process. 572651 tn?1530999357 Obviously it is important to stay as physically active as possible with this crazy disease. I'm wondering what type of exercise routine any of you may have found that is "do-able." Currently I am doing Tai Chi, which is great for my balance and Chi (life force energy) but offers little aerobic benefit. I am also doing water aerobics two times a week, along with swimming laps.
206807 tn?1331936184 WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid broke several ribs and facial bones when a piece of exercise equipment snapped at his Nevada home Thursday, causing the lawmaker to fall. In a statement issued Friday, Reid's office said the 75-year-old senator was hospitalized overnight at University Medical Center in Las Vegas as a precaution and was released on Friday. His security detail had initially taken Reid to St. Rose Dominican Hospital near his home in Henderson, Nevada.
973741 tn?1342342773 We have had an exercise bike, hopefully placed right in the TV room so we would use it. Did we? No. We now own a very nice rowing machine. Someone has used it two or three times since the beginning of the year. It seems like the value of Peloton would be only in if it is motivational. If someone is prompted by the high price to become a fanatic for exercise, more power to he and to the program.
