1184961 tn?1292574076 I forgot all about tens units. I had one years ago for my hip but it didn't work so I had to give it back to the phys. ther. dept. I should see if my Dr.would refer me back to phys. ther. for my back to see about trying one for it. It's worth a shot. Anything better than more drugs or surgery. Thanks for jogging my memory. I'll call in the AM to make an appt.
Avatar f tn They show you ways your partner can help with massage using different tools. We watched a birthing video and watched how to change a diaper and swaddled a baby. While learning how to cope with labor was interesting, I didn't use anythign but the breathing exercise. I had Forgot how to do that and the nurse helped coach on that. Then I had an epidural so nothing I learned was needed after that.
662085 tn?1331345560 I meditate everyday. This is a very good video. It is easy to meditate once you get the hang of it, however I am unable to hold my head up like that. I need to rest it on the couch or chair due to the hernaited discs in my neck. I do find it possible to meditate while laying down. :o) Thank you for sharing this video.

Avatar n tn See if getting a massage therapist with good anatomical understanding and pain management techniques brings some relief. Any concerns should first be cleared by your doctor. In many states though you don't need a doctors prescription. Sitting and or standing for long periods can be the cause of your symptoms. If you want to see my website its www.nycmassagemanhattan.com.

Avatar n tn Many thnx for your reply mummu3too. Will this therapy really work as few people suggested me to not to for massage kind of techniques in this pain. I will surely consult this therapy treatment from doctors as my bro is not getting satisfactory results from epidural as pain persists after few days. I hope this will help him.
614343 tn?1258041519 A back/stomach support belt might also help. When I had severe back pain, I found that sleeping sitting up gave me some relief - sleeping on my side or back made it worse.
Avatar n tn You also need a good sleeve and gauntlet to help keep the swelling down while you travel. They can also show you some manual drainage techniques and some pretty wicked bandaging to get the swelling down.

Avatar n tn I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy). If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.
Avatar f tn ) Think of ways to relax your mind and body. I also had years of anxiety and panic attacks and have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and did these things for a long time (it took two years for me to feel "normal: again) but it helped and I took very few meds so try it and see.

Available data suggest that massage therapy, like chiropractic manipulations, holds considerable promise for managing back pain.
395769 tn?1318449682 Also (sorry this is getting kind of long) if you did have a chance to take child birth classes, but are still interested (the breathing does help most women) then you can try checking out a video about natural child birth and breathing techniques from your local library or usually the hospital has ones that they will lend out to pregnant moms. Good luck and you can do it!
620923 tn?1452915648 I wish I had a tub I fit in. At 5'10" I just don't fit in the bath in my kids bathroom. Some day I hope to re-do my large walk-in shower to a shower over jacuzzi tub combo. There's room. I relax by lying in my dark room(I just made blackout curtains) and watching old sitcoms I DVR or just napping.

Avatar n tn The MRI showed small herniated disks in neck but the back MRI was clear. I have pain in the middle of my back and anything physical makes it worse. It all started with severe migraines. My hands shake now all the time and the pain in unexplained still after not working for 5 months. My physical therapist believes that it is a sympathetic nervous system problem but doesnt think i should still be in so much pain. My family Dr. doesnt know anything about that, my orthapedic Dr.
