massage

Avatar n tn I just grin and bare it most days but I find I feel best after a swim or a soothing back massage from my hubby. Seriously massage your butt. It sounds silly but it helps a little.
Avatar f tn Take a deep breath in through your nose, hold it for 5 seconds and count this out in your head, then let it all out through your mouth. You can do this sitting, standing or laying down. I do this quite often in the car when I have a panic attack when I'm driving. Nobody knows I'm evening doing it. If you do it laying down, then put your hands on your stomach so you can feel the rise and fall of it. Sometimes I even say "in" and "out" when I do it this way.
1243620 tn?1274790697 Please message me for the tips and techniques I have. Some people post and never come back, I have written enough for a novel. I don't mean to sound harsh or cruel, I just like to know the person is still coming here before I type away.
Avatar f tn Having excruciating lower back pain that will not go away! I'm 35 weeks and need some relief. Anyone have any tips?
Avatar f tn Hey ladies, im also a July mum at 27 weeks and have a fairly small frame but have a big bust and the bump is ever growing. My lower back is in pieces I can barely walk. People think its a typical pregnant waddle but the pain is causing me to limp. Im pretty certain its siatica or syatica (not quite sure how its spelt). The pain starts in my lower back and shoots down. I cant have a sports massage as laying on my tummy isnt gonna happen and any stretches my bump makes difficult.
Avatar f tn Im 32 weeks, and i can't stretch my back. Does anyone have a method of popoing it, or relieving some pain?
Avatar f tn There is also a magnesium oil (I found mine at a health food store) that you can massage into your legs (or back, wherever you need pain relief.) Eating some foods high in potassium will help as well. Foods like avocados, bananas, sweet potatoes and tomatoes. Make sure you are drinking LOTS of pure water. Getting some mild exercise like short walks helps too. A homeopathic med that isn't mentioned in that article I referenced above is Hyland's Restful Legs.
Avatar m tn What are some coping techniques I can employ? I sometimes want to die because of this stuff and already have a serious mental illness I'm having to deal with alongside the PTSD and I'm supposed to be receiving therapy for this but I don't know when I will and need to know some things I can do to cope better until then.
Avatar n tn Indeed I know the pelvic and back stretch this is my 2nd pregnancy, I had this with my 1st pregnancy but did have it so soon into the pregnancy. This time round ive had it from 3months.

Avatar f tn Is it a constant pain or a pain that comes and goes? I had horrible stabbing pain that would come and go and turned out it was contractions.
1184961 tn?1292574076 I forgot all about tens units. I had one years ago for my hip but it didn't work so I had to give it back to the phys. ther. dept. I should see if my Dr.would refer me back to phys. ther. for my back to see about trying one for it. It's worth a shot. Anything better than more drugs or surgery. Thanks for jogging my memory. I'll call in the AM to make an appt.

Avatar f tn ) Think of ways to relax your mind and body. I also had years of anxiety and panic attacks and have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and did these things for a long time (it took two years for me to feel "normal: again) but it helped and I took very few meds so try it and see.

Avatar f tn Hello, I am new to this forum and to this disease. I was just diagnosed with MS 4 weeks ago and am now on my 8th day of copaxone. Other than feeling like I've been stung by a bee after I inject myself, I feel a large size lump (size of a golf ball) and terrible itching the next day that seem to last all week. Is there any tips on how to lesson the pain and/or itch? I've tried the ice pack on the injection site right after which seems to help a bit but not enough.
Avatar n tn how do i aliviate back pain????????
Avatar f tn Yes lower back :( its absolutely awful. I wouldn't say they're contractions because its only on my back and they haven't moved.
Avatar f tn I get that in the same spot, all you can do is take acedemediphin ( low dose Tylenol) and have your husband massage it. Baths help and icy hot patches work OK too.
Avatar m tn ll switch to advil ( doctor approved) I got a book on exercise and stretching from a friend who is a licensed therapist I do the stretching in the hot shower this helps me loosen up for the day the numbness in my left shoulder and tingling in my hands never seems to go away I have 3 bad discs in my neck and 5 in my back but dealing with my pain like this has got me to 34 days giver take a day I lost count I'll have to check on that been so busy at work.
Avatar f tn I've done it twice. It can be done and it's really not as bad as some people think (I had no tearing or stitches with either), but it's different for everyone. With the first I only pushed for about 15 minutes and with the second only about 12, but some women end up pushing for much longer (sometimes between 1-2 hours), it really just depends. Just got to rememeber to keep breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth!
Avatar f tn This is normal, it's your sciatic nerve which is a major nerve that runs through your lower back and down your leg. During pregnancy this nerve gets aggravated with the changes to you're body and weight gain. You can try stretching, massage, and not staying sitting or standing for too long. Other than that I really don't think there's too much you can do. You can also ask your doctor for tips or talk to him about it if it gets too severe.
6295353 tn?1395241495 Im 16 weeks and ive been having problems with sharp pain in my lower back. It radiates to my left hip, does yours radiate anywhere? What i did was go to the chiropractor and he (or she) will align your whole spine, its ah-mazing! Just make sure they know you're pregnant so they dont use objects or techniques that will harm your baby.
Avatar m tn I had a wonderful chiropractor before I moved and he did a lot of massage techniques on me. It provided excellent relief of pain from the many inflamed bunches of muscles I have developed due to Lyme. However, on a couple of occasions I experienced a notable worsening of symptoms within hours of my treatments. He told me that the deep tissue work can stimulate the immune system and that could account for my experience.
Avatar n tn See if getting a massage therapist with good anatomical understanding and pain management techniques brings some relief. Any concerns should first be cleared by your doctor. In many states though you don't need a doctors prescription. Sitting and or standing for long periods can be the cause of your symptoms. If you want to see my website its www.nycmassagemanhattan.com.
Avatar n tn The MRI showed small herniated disks in neck but the back MRI was clear. I have pain in the middle of my back and anything physical makes it worse. It all started with severe migraines. My hands shake now all the time and the pain in unexplained still after not working for 5 months. My physical therapist believes that it is a sympathetic nervous system problem but doesnt think i should still be in so much pain. My family Dr. doesnt know anything about that, my orthapedic Dr.
Avatar f tn Anyone have any tips on back pain?????
Avatar f tn They had alot of massage techniques, yoga ball and even just how to relax. One lady was a lamaze instructor and even said that it doesnt work for everyone. That when it boils down to it, everyone labors differently and has different ways that make them feel empowered or relaxed. So Id say its up to you.
