I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be due to Acne keloidalis nuchae. It occurs when hairs on the back of the head and neck grow into the skin, become inflamed, and cause scar tissue. These ingrown hairs usually occur following a short haircut on the back of the head and nape of the neck.
Treatment of AKN includes suppression of the inflammation with antibiotics and steroid gels or intralesional steroid injections.
Hi doc, my girlfriend recently commented on slight acne on my back when I remembered an occurrence and in discussing this occurrence, got worried. 3 years ago I had a small, firm, pink bump on my upper back. I thought it was a zit. I tried to pop it, and it was very difficult to pop. I didn't get much secretion or “stuff” out; it was dry and bleed –felt hard and waxy - I couldn't tell if it was on or under my skin.
s enlarged, and I am experiencing pain when I sit back on a chair, even if it is a soft armchair or couch. I do wash my back with acne wash to see if that will help and because I do work out at a gym, I wash and change my shirt when I get home. I am a woman in my mid 30's and have mild acne problems throughout my life, but this is concerning. Is this acne or something else?
I have severe cysitc acne that covers my upper back. I went to a dermatologist for this condition beginning at age 12.
During the course of treatment I was perscribed Minocycline, Doxycycline, tetracycline, and sulfa based medications, all resulting in allergic reactions. I was finally placed on Accutane with positive results while taking the drug, however six months after completing treatment, the acne returned again.
ve always had bad acne, some weight issues, depression and excessive hair growth, but I never knew what it was until now. I'm fair skinned, and my hair is thick and black and there is so much of it! I'm so embarrassed by it. I could shave in the morning and come back home after school and shave again. I was in my bathroom when i noticed a bump on my face, kind of like a pimple on the inside of your skin, so i used my acne products and then i noticed a white spot sticking out from it. i kept rubbing it with an acne removal pad, and the white spot got bigger. now there is a white spot in the same place of the bump. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it?!
However, I was worried if this would work as i dont think it is raised enough, if i rub my finger on my cheek i can barely feel it is there, and i think it might grow back or leave a bad scar. I wondered if anyone had had any similar experiences, to help me decide if i should go ahead with it? Thanks.
(14mths) I had it removed about 4 days before I was due to ovulate, so we could start TTC. The day after removal I had some very heavy bleeding for about 3days. Approx a week later I had some spotting for 2 days on and off. So now I am experiencing some early pregnancy symptoms but with neg HPT results. (acne, vivid dreams, squeamish, slight lactation.) My af is a week late from when I thought it would be due before Mirena was removed.
I have had these pimple-looking bumps in back of my head for a couple years now. They seem to respond to acne meds but they never really go away-the redness and swelling jus goes down. Theres lk a cluster of them right in the middle of the back of my head about 3inches above my neck. Any thoughts?? I had the Mirena removed after three months. I was reacting in so many ways (acne, awful cramping, low libido, continual spotting, etc). After removal, I had spotting a few days later and then very heavy bleeding suddenly. I felt incredibly faint and went to the hospital. They sent me home and told me I was fine.
Now here I am four weeks post removal and I am having constant cramping (feels like first day period cramps - with no period. It's worse with a full bladder.
For the past five months, i have had small bumps on the shaft of my penis which i believe is sebaceous prominice. In addition, in and around the bumps i have had little red bumps that look like acne or folliculitis. They are scaring me and i truly don't know how to get them to go away. I have gotten it down to one acne/folliculitis pimple and it won't go away for good. It will leave for a day to a month and then come back. I need help.

Has anyone had their mirena out due to acne and weight gain? Did the side effects clear up after removal and if so how long did it take? I've had mine for 3 1/2 years and considering having it removed.
during puberty i had a fair amount of acne on my face generaly just large blemeshes wich left some small scars here and there but i also devoloped the same type of thing on the base of my penis just above my testicles probably because of cloged sweat glands or maybe in grown hairs but some of this acne has left some scaring mostly a slight discoloration as well as a slight difference in texture compared to the surrounding area its only a small part just above my testicals however the scaring i
Thank you so much, you're very kind. Yes, I do have extremely oily skin as well as acne, although my acne has improved over the years. I'm currently undergoing laser hair removal on my face and have been told to avoid chemical peels, etc. until that procedure has been completed. In the mean time I guess I'll try and hang in there and look into proper cleaning and toning options.
I have had these bumps not to sure what to call them i have had them for about 2-3 years. they are mainly on the back of my head. they are itchy and sometimes painful when i lay down on them. i thought it was just acne but have NEVER gone away.
I have gone to a few dermatologists but nothing they have given me has worked. not sure what they are if someone here could help me find out what they are and how to get rid of them that would be great.

You can try the proactive body wash. It really does work I've never had back acne but when i was younger i had face acne. My mom bought me the proactive and it cleared up. My little sis had back acne we got her the body wash and it reduced back acne. I've seen it work maybe it'll work for you as well.
I never really had acne on my face let alone my back but now I'm beginning to break out on the back or my shoulders. What kind of products are safe/effective in treating that sort of acne. Not overly concerned just wanna control it if possible.
