She also spits up a lot. I took her to doctor and they gave her Zantac. From what I was describing, doctor said it sounds like Acid Reflux. I have not given her the Zantac yet. Do you think having Acid Reflux can cause so much gas? Has anyone used Zantac for their newborns? Any side effects?

Oh and I thought I would add there's an old wives tale that heartburn equals lots hair when baby is born. Its the only old wives tale that was correct for me lol.

He still has super fussy times, even after feeding, diaper, napping...I am starting to think baby #1 is my high maintenance baby, so #2 better be easy going! Good luck...hope it works for Hayden! We also have a blanket under his crib mattress, about a 30 degree angle, for help with the reflux.

My little guy is having the same problem. I can't stand to see him in pain. I use Mylicon and it helps a bit. I will look for Colic Calm and see if that helps.

It may be best to switch to a soy formula, with a doctors script Wic should cover one. Other than that, if the mylicon isn't working, sometimes laying baby across your legs and rubbing in circles counterclockwise on their back helps. Also doing the "bicycle" with their legs works sometimes too. I found that with my kids sometimes laying them sort of upside down..

I think your daughter is fussy bc of gas. I use to buy over the counter mylicon drops for her gas and it would ease the gas and she sleep for two hours after.

I take Zantac 150 once a day as prescribed by my Dr. I've had terrible acid reflux and it seems to be helpful. It's safe ..my neighbor gives her 4 month old baby zantac for silent reflux as prescribed by her pediatrician.

Mylicon is good! and its also useful to have alcohol and q tips to clean baby's belly button!

A few ways I found to help relieve gas is by laying baby on their belly (this works wonders for my daughter) or you can do baby crunches. You hold them under the chin and sit them back, and then just have them do crunches. After that you sit them straight up, pat the back for a minute and see if it helps to expel the air. You can also lay him on his back and move his legs like he's on a bike. This helps to expel gas as well. I hope he starts to feel better soon!!

I would use the mylicon drops and this use to work for my babies (i have 3) I would take a blanket and hold him on your chest,you sitting up or laying down. Wrap the blanket around him and just tuck the blanket around him on your chest. Put his legs as far up to his chest as you can and just pat his back. When i have gas it feels better when im curled up (TMI). It would work everytime.

my 14 weeks baby girl weighing 12 pounds spits up at least 3 to 4 times every feed (4 feeds per day) and she burps many times as well and she gets all cranky and fussy while burping or spitting.. She doesn't cry excessively but she just seems annoyed and we need to keep distracting her..

It is bothering her, b/c she will bring her legs up to her stomach and her face will turn red and then she will kick her legs out stiff and pass gas.. Any advice of what else to do or anything else she can take..

But I think I just discovered the miracle cure called MYLICON, its gas drops for babies and very safe to use! She has been wonderful the past few nights and we are in heaven! Feel like we can finally enjoy her instead of being totally stressed all the time.

I have tried everything Mylicon, Gripe Water and even everything my Peditrician has given me. Does anyone have any ideas I may not be trying? I burp her good and I have tried every way of putting her my knees stomach down and even lying her on the stomach nothing seems to ease her pain. Please help!!

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

kiki: We are doing Zantac and Mylicon drops and I'm glad you said something about the poo, because I've noticed it's turned yellowish like mustard almost and was wondering if this was normal. The bottle says you can give up to 12 times, I think, but pediatrician said to only give 4 times a day, so that is what we are doing. My mom is keeping Reece tonight so mommy and daddy can have some sleep.

for heartburn you can try drinking milk, or medication wise tums and zantac 75mg or 150 up to twice a day is ok to take during pregnancy, personally zantac is what has worked best for me

Hi, my son is 1 month 1/2 old and suffers from reflux. His pediatrician put him on zantac about 2 weeks ago and now again 2 days ago. I'm not seeing much improvements since he is still spitting up and sometimes it just goes back down. I also feel that he has had colic, since he cries out of no where with such a great force. I was mostly breastfeeding and he was drinking formula (similac advance) as well but maybe just about 2 oz. every other feeding.

Gripe water is great, you can find it in the baby section at grocery stores. Also, if you lie them on the ground on their back and tuck their knees to their stomach, straigthen them out and repeat the process it helps them fart. My little guy had the same problems and he would fart every time the knees went to his stomach.
