A yeast infection?? I just got over a bladder infection and now have a yeast infection, joy :( really hate going to the doctors unless nessasary, cured them myself before but need to know what is safe for the baby. Any suggestions would be great, please & thankful... oh ya i do have monistate cream left from previous times, is it safe to use??

I suggest you go to the doctor and confirm if it's a yeast infection or not. If you treat yourself for yeast infection and have a bacterial vaginosis instead, you will only make it worse.

there are no really safe and common home remedies! i just got rid of a yeast infection. you can go to walmart and get a treatment kit for less than 10 bucks. there are tons of websites online for you to read about yeast infections.

Home treatment only works at the very first sign of the infection but once you have thick discharge and irritation only meds will help. Metrodonizole is safe for the baby.

As far as I know, anti biotics are useless against 'yeast' infection. 'Yeast' is a fungus. Anti biotics are useful against 'bacterial' infections only. And the over use of anti biotics can lead to yeast infections as the anti biotics break down the body's own natural defenses. Your use of the word 'prone' makes me wonder if she has received too many anti biotics. I would suggest that you try to build up 'her' natural defense system.

well your going to just have to tell your my mom about it so u guys can go to a doctor to see if its a yeast infection. but if u want some home remedies if u try not to eating anything with yeast & eat some yogurt with no sugar or fruit.

I went to doc but I think you can use monostat or equivalent. Ask doc they will tell you exactly what you need. Dont worry, if happens and won't harm baby, the yeast infection or treatment.

Don't do it unless your doctor told u to. If it's itchy or whatever just put the cream on the outside to relieve a little bit and drink cranberry juice.

sorry guys if tmi. i got a yeast infection from a antibiotic just before i fell pregnant and fell pregnant while treating it with canestan 7 day cream. it didnt go away and it keeps getting worse. i have used the 7 day cream about 5 times now with no help only relief from the itching and painful sex for about 2 days after i finished the treatment. i have had it my entire pregnancy and im 18 weeks now.

Monistat or something similar is safe to take during pregnancy and if the baby is born vaginally while you have a yeast infection, he or she could end up with thrush in his mouth and that would be much trickier to get rid of. Unfortunately, yeast infections are just more likely to happen during pregnancy. I never had one in my life until I got pregnant and now I've had two! Both were diagnosed by my midwife and both times they told me to take the over the counter remedy.

Its a great home remedy to treat and prevent it. Google yogurt for yeast infection to better educate yourself. Yeast infection are just were your bodies chemical levels are off balanced. Yogurt has lactobacillus acidopillus (I'm sure I didn't spell that right) but it something like that. This is found in the vagina and eating yogurt helps balance your ph levels back.
