Baby lip blister nursing

Common Questions and Answers about Baby lip blister nursing

lip

Avatar f tn Ok thank you :)
Avatar n tn I am breastfeeding and my baby likes to touch my lips while nursing. Sometimes baby has a rough or jagged fingernail; I think baby may have irritated my skin and maybe introduced an infection. My sleeping is irregular but I usually get at least 6 hours per night. It's difficult not to touch the sore area, for instance with my tongue if I lick my lips, as it's directly on my lip, near the inner edge close to my teeth.
Avatar n tn So frustrating because no amount or type of lip balm seemed to help (vaseline lip therapy, body shop lip salve, etc etc). Additionally, the skin above my upper lip became dry, red and irritated. About 2-3 weeks after that, I started experiencing swollen eyelids as well as dry, wrinkled, red, itchy patches above and below my eyes. I could not apply the most mild lotion to those areas because it would burn, but it was so dry I wanted to do something.
171768 tn?1324233699 His upper lip (still) would curl under and he even would get a blister on his lip. If you're getting stressed nursing that's got to come across to your little one... Good luck with the LC tomorrow - hope it helps and she has the answers for you!
Avatar n tn This is my second baby and my face is a little broken out, not bad, but my back is absolutley horrible. Is there anything that I can do to prevent this from getting worse? Do you all think this is genetics? I really don't want to have a zitty face?????
Avatar f tn When I'm not pregnant or nursing, I'll also take a lysine supplement. Many times, they don't even get to the blister phase if I can start treating them right away, but if they do progess I'll get one cluster of small blisters which scabs over and heals in about a week. They don't seem to get the yellow crust any more, the blisters tend to recede before popping. They form on my lips (upper or lower), sometimes on the border of where the pink lip skin meets regular skin.
Avatar n tn I do not know what to do. It started at the beginning of nursing school before I ever used latex gloves. I do not recall if it started before we used this hand dye or not. I just wish someone could tell me how to get rid of it. Please help me!
Avatar n tn The Doc said anytime it burns when you pea just pop one in (to be grose plus it doesnt hurt or feel uncomfortable) but honeslty i swear by them they solve alot of problems, and for the ladies who have the spot things, there actually a type of wart, not a sexually transited one but one that normally occurs in children, Doc says alot of women who use Sanitary Towels suffer from them, you can treat them with all sorts but they just keep cuming back my advise is go to you doc try get a female, show
Avatar n tn Also, when I scratch them, more tiny blisters will develop around the original blister, signifying an infection. These broken blisters often leave (little open sores) which can be difficult and slow to heal. These outbreaks seem to come in waves, as I'll often go weeks or even a month or two without a sign of blisters, itching, or infection.
Avatar n tn They don't blister. They start out as one or two and then I might get a few more and they seem to cluster up on only the sides of my fingers. They are not itchy but they are sore to the touch when you run your finger over them. It feels like you have a splinter. They are slightly raised and red in color. They will stay for varying lengths of time and then dry up and go away. Usually not for more than a couple of weeks.
Avatar n tn I'm sooo glad I'm not alone..I too have seen several doctors and had blood work done...but nobody knows what it is. My blood work shows signs of herpes 1, which everyone has from cold sores etc...I just went to the doctor again last week to discuss my blood work and to discuss the discomfort I have after sex. He said to show up immediately to the office when I notice the lesions so he can get a sample of it and run tests...but it's diffinitely hard because of my work schedule.
Avatar n tn Four days ago my hands started itching (not unusal for me though), but it felt like a bite or something and I looked and there was a small bump that looked like a blister. Looking all over my hands they are all over. It's not like a rash, there's no redness except when I've scratched, the bumps aren't red, they are skin colored - it just looks like little fever blisters or something. When they break they are just filled w/ clear fluid and stop itching.
Avatar n tn They gave me cephalexin because I am currently nursing and they said it was perfectly safe for my baby. It gave my son horrible diarrhea for over a month, but thankfully he has recovered. About a week after I stopped taking it I developed the sensation of a lump in my throat and heartburn. Now I also have stomach cramps, indigestion, and diarrhea - 2 months later! I'm sure it was the cephalexin as I never had any problems before I took it. Please research this drug before taking it!!
Avatar n tn I don't have anything so not sure what it is and we don't have insurance so he's been suffering for about a month now. It started when he started his new job at his nursing home. He says it is bites but is it possible for him to have bites and not me? seems most of these people have the same problem with just one person but not the spouse. Now my best friend been having the same problem too but her husband doesn't seem to have problems with any bumps or itches like her.
Avatar n tn maybe that part of the body is indirectly affected somehow during a normal cycle. i'm not a doc so i don't know. but no one else seems to have an answer. anyway, baby power helps for me.
Avatar n tn my baby has a constant bright orange tongue but noone seems to know what it is. has anyone been given an answer as to a likely cause yet?
Avatar n tn My itchy palm, no bump or blister, progressed to pain and tingling, especially at night. An orthopaeduc sugeon confirmed my primary physicians diagnosis of carpal tunnel. He explained the signals from the nerves become confused and sometimes feel like something crawling or extreme itching. A cortisone shot has provided relief which he indicates will be temporary. The median nerve needs to be relieved surgically according to his recommendation.
Avatar n tn The use of any eye make-up other than mascara would result in a stinging sensation, which varied in terms of severity. Moisturiser and even baby-lotion would burn my skin. Since then however, I have been using some Garnier make-up wipes, made for sensitive skin and the problem seemed to get a bit better, although eyeshadow was still strictly off-limits. But then, last Sunday, my eyes had gone back to their previous state, of being very red and sore.
Avatar n tn I was pregnant and at the last two months of my pregnancy I got what I thought it was a pimple and I thought because I was so fat that my legs rubbing together that is got bigger. Afte the baby was born it was still there. 4 months later (8/05) I went to my internal Dr. and she said it was a boil and gave me some antibotics for 3 days. I did make it very small but it didn't go away. So I went to a surgen and he said that because it has been there for 4 months we should have it removed.
Avatar n tn For the last two weeks my hands (the palms and between my fingers)will begin to itch periodically without warning. When I scrath them it only gets worse, the itching is intensified and they begin to burn. I have tried multiple things to relieve it but to no avail. It starts and stops continully through out the day and there is no one indicator of what might be causing it. I am worried that it might be my liver or gallbladder due to stones in my gallbladder.
Avatar m tn I 'love' more than I 'discipline'. He started bouncing at 9 months old and at that time I just thought it was a 'baby' rocking thing, but it progressed into a self-soothing mechanism. He wasn't very cuddly and affection as a baby, even though I nursed and cuddled him. He just didn't like to be held much. He also doesn't like covers on him when he sleeps. He became violent and out of control at age 5 and I have taken him to psychiatrists, counselors, doctors, but they all say to let him do it.
Avatar n tn I'm going to see a new GYN in 2 weeks I hope he can tell me something. By the way- I've found that Desitin(for baby diaper rash) works good at coating so air and toilet tissue aren't so painful.
Avatar n tn I know I worry about him alot but after all he is my baby. I wish I had some answers. We see a pediatric allergist for his other multiple allergies and we do totally avoid what he is allergic to everyday.
Avatar n tn I know that my legs get really itchy from shaving, so after I shave I put baby oil on them. You might try using baby oil to moisturize the area.
