Avatar f tn If pernicious anemia is caused by non absorption in the bowel of vitamin b-12 how can vitamin b-12 tablets be effective ? I have just finished four weeks of weekly injections and have now been out on oral vitamins.
574118 tn?1305135284 I know there is a potential of mania at higher doses of b vitamins. Also there is a specific limit to how much a person can safely take. There hasn't been that much current research in the field of orthomolecular psychiatry. There are some research centers and universities in the U.S. such as I believe Ann Arbor University in Michigan that continue research in this area. You could print out the information and discuss it with your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn I take slow release iron tablets because my gummy vitamins don't have iron in them. If you get iron tablets I was told to go with slow release because you are less likely to get an upset stomach.
Avatar m tn I wonder just how deficient I am in some of these B Vitamins. Is there a test for them all? I take dissolvable B12 tablets, they said they are the best.
Avatar f tn If you're taking Prenatal vitamins you should be fine on iron and not need extra supplements unless you're anemic or your doctor to you to. My doctor told me not to take extra iron (other than what's in my vitamins) because I don't need it.
Avatar f tn Specific B vitamins (like B6 and B12) are better absorbed when taken along with a B-Complex. I've been taking B6 for short LP. Ask how much you need, and you'll always get a different answer. I have 100mg tablets, and I take one in the morning and one at night. You can't OD on B vitamins, cuz whatever your body doesn't use is flushed out in your urine (hence the neon pee effect). Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn I have recently been prescribed Valtrex tablets after reoccurant outbreaks. What is a safe and effective period of time to take 500mg daily?? What vitamins would you advise I take to improve my immune system?
Avatar f tn Vitamin C is best ingested in the crystaline form. B-12 in sublingual tablets. A problem exists with vitamins in slow-release tablets. They can lay against the intestinal wall and cause erosion. Capsules are best and take a lot of fluid and some food..
Avatar f tn Lol you I'm guessing you mean prenatals. Well you take them as soon as possible.

Avatar f tn Methylobobalamin is available in the dose of 1500 mcg and that too in sub-lingual form as well as usual tablets and injection. One feels good taking heave dose of b 12.Spell check is not done.
Avatar f tn Can I take B12 tablets that dissolve under in your mouth one hour after taking Tirosint and at the same time as taking Cytomel? Can I take B Complex at the same time or within an hour of taking my afternoon dose of Cytomel? I'm low in B12 and I suspect B's in general (low a.m. cortisol and I get stressed too easily), but I've heard that B vitamins generally and B12 especially is energizing and I don't want to have (more) problems staying a sleep than I already do.
1763947 tn?1334055319 When I had this I was prescribed nystatin tablets to suck slowly, pressed against the nasty bits. They worked well (despite the vile taste) and apparently they are very light on the liver (unlike diflucan). BTW are you taking a vitamin B complex tablet? You can get sore red things on your tongue from deficiency in some B vitamins. It's one of the nutrient deficiencies v common in Lyme, so that might be worth investigating if these things keep comig back.
1128565 tn?1316721143 Well if your are sensitive enough yes it can upset your stomach but remember that B vitamins are extremely water soluble and what your body don't need or what is not absorbed will be flushed out in the urine. You must have noticed a bright yellow color in your urine, this is the extra B vitamins being flushed out. Dosulepin? This is another antidepressant, it's a tricyclic SNRI.
Avatar n tn Today I asked myself what have I done differently in the past couple of days. Then it hit me! I started taking fish oil capsules and B-Complex vitamin tablets 3 days ago! I really want to take these to help me lose weight, but I don't know if it's worth it, if I continue to break out. What's going on?
Avatar m tn This is normal with B vitamins. You will notice this happens if you use nutrtional yeast, too.

12832842 tn?1448728801 I'd think this would depend on how low the B12 level is, and what the doctor recommends. It used to be that shots were given or were administered by the patient, as this uses the vitamin very efficiently, and pills don't. Newer pills seem to be better on this score. Some people use the sub-lingual variety, supposedly better than pills in terms of absorption, but there's controversy about this approach as well.
Avatar m tn t get a definitive answer. I am a hepatitis-b carrier I have been taking vitamin b complex and vitamin-C supplements. I was wondering if they are bad for my liver? It won't cause any damage to my liver, will it? This is the one i take: Each tablet contains Thiamin (Vitamin B1) 7mg 636% RDA Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) 14mg 1,000%RDA Niacin 4.
