Avatar f tn Not so!! Some vitamins actually stay in your body. Vitamins are broken up into two categories: fat soluble, such as A, D, E or K, and water soluble, including all of the B vitamins and vitamin C. Fat-soluble vitamins stay in your body, whereas water-soluble vitamins are absorbed immediately, with any excess being excreted in urine.
Avatar m tn You can take this, however, recommend you choose a multi-vitamin that has the vitamins and minerals closer to the recommended daily levels. For your age any multi-vitamin with iron is fine. We should be getting all our vitamins and minerals from our food sources.
Avatar m tn Lets sum up how much units of vitamins that we hbv folks are low on need to take daily. I know Vitamin D3 should be taken 6-10000lu daily What about the rest? Vitamin a; c; e; selenium; guanine; zinc; and melotonin to boost the immune system.
Avatar f tn Wow yeah you should definitely get a prenatal. Folic acid is good, but there may be other nutrients the baby needs he may not be getting from that particular pill. If you're looking for a specific brand, I use Brainstrong, which includes DHA (good for their little brain development), but most of the major prenatal vitamins will give you what they need.
1057389 tn?1325465587 Is it ok to take Calcium chewable vitamins during pregnancy instead of eating/drinking the calcium you are supposed to be taking in? I dont eat alot of dairy...dont like yogurt, milk, or ice-cream. It makes me feel sick after eating most dairy products...just wanted to make sure taking calcium vitamins would be ok and be sufficient enough?
Avatar n tn s primarily found in animal products (eggs, milk, meat). The daily requirement is only 2 mcg. If I remember correctly the B vitamins are water soluble and what we don't need tends to go down the toilet. What a waste, huh? Fat soluble vitamins such as A can be toxic if you take too much. I don't see any notes about excess of B12.
Avatar n tn B1 (Thiamine) in your brain and other B vitamins, which are depleted as your liver uses too much of it to process alcohol. Take a B-Complex and make sure you take a standard multi vitamin too.
7826987 tn?1401691041 No I take 8 prenatal vitamins and 4 folic acid and 2 calcium a day I think your fine I eat healthy and my doctor said nothing about take less
Avatar n tn Usually docs say not to take any vitamins/supplements, minerals even without their consent. About the B vitamins niacin which is a water soluble one (most of the group are as well), the daily need is only 14 mg and max of 35mg. so 500 is very high.
486919 tn?1280184140 Supplements are fine for the body as long as you take the recommended daily dose. It will put a stress on your liver only if you are taking mega doses of fat soluble vitamins (Vitamins A, D, E). The best source of vitamins and minerals are our food sources and they are all combined in those sources. Nature has the best source and the added benefit of natural fibers!
Avatar n tn You should not have an lasting effects if you have only been taking it for 4 weeks and should bring it down to 40mg. Vitamins and minerals do cause issues when they are taken above the upper limits or mega dose levels. That will cause the body to have toxic build up and medical issues will occur. The issues can be serious depending on the length of time and amounts the supplements were taken.
5549258 tn?1449083082 B vitamins are great! I actually take one every day period. I recommend the n vitamin complex though which has a bunch of b vitamins in it. The way it works is it only gives you energy if you're deficient in n vitamins, otherwise it's just flushed out. But our bodies (as addicts) have been very depleted through our use. So it should help you. I recommend buying a good one too like from a health food store, not just your grocery store brand. That's my opinion though.
Avatar n tn Just take recommended dose on bottle. Don't take more than that, you can over do it. Just eat healthy - lots of veggies and fruit, lean protein, and whole grain carbs. Cut junk way back or out entirely. Go easy on soda and other caffeine. If you eat well your body will be getting all the nutrition you need to grow healthy baby. Congratulations!
Avatar f tn You were on a significantly HIGH daily dose of Xanax! I honestly don't recommend that you wean yourself without being under medical supervision. Benzo w/d can be dangerous.
1126418 tn?1326165992 Wow thanks everyone. The only Vitamins I take right now are, Calcium with with Vitamin D added and a Super B-Complex with added vitamin c and folic acid. I am looking into buying some fish oil/omaga 3 vitamins. I was told by some people that because I hate fish and never eat it that I should take these.
Avatar n tn I've read about amino acids as a supplement, along with vitamins and minerals, to easy post acute withdrawal symptoms. During a past period of sobriety, I made an effort to exercise during the PAWS phase of recovery, eat well and take vitamins. I can say that it seemed to make me feel better. The malaise that primarily affects people during the months following detox is a big problem that I think is underestimated in its effects on a persons' ability to stay clean for the long term.
Avatar m tn is it ok to take vitamins such as vitamin B complex, vitamin C or vitamin E for a hepatitis b patient?just to boost immune sytem. is there any vitamins that are really recomended for HBV patients like me?
461010 tn?1208482459 If you want to take a multi-vitamin, then suggest a daily multi-vitamin that does not go over 100% recommended daily dose.
Avatar m tn Many weeks ago one of her doctors suspected neuropathy and recommended B complex vitamins but not any particular brand. Because the local pharmacies don't have a choice of GMP certified brands we're probably going to get the B complex in a multivitamin without any added herbs from a GMP certified practitioner brand that uses the amount of B vitamins usually used for neuropathy.
Avatar m tn Nexavar product information). For those who are Child-Pugh class C and who have severe impairment in liver function, caution must be exercised in giving Sorafenib as this drug is primarily metabolized by the liver. At present, there are no clinical trials which have studied the use of Sorafenib in Child-Pugh class C patients, so we don't know how the drug will affect this patient population.
