Avatar n tn B1 (Thiamine) in your brain and other B vitamins, which are depleted as your liver uses too much of it to process alcohol. Take a B-Complex and make sure you take a standard multi vitamin too.
Avatar n tn Yes, try foods that are high in the B vitamins, brewers yeast is a terrific one, and it taste great on cottage cheese, and when put on popcorn, it taste just like cheese. Also, try to avoid processed meats, these contain a lot of additives and you could be allergic to them, a lot of folks are. Sugar is a no-no too. Have you been checked for low blood sugar? Low blood sugar can cause anxiety big time.
Avatar m tn as for me you are positive in HBV(hepatitis b virus). try to take a proper diet. stay away in alcohol, smoke, fatty and oily food, and animal skin food. instead of those food try to eat some healthy food like vegetable,fruit.. and consult your gastro for some multi vitamins take a enough rest and exercise regularly. you will be ok soon.
Avatar f tn Alcohol depletes a number of B vitamins in your body, but sometimes it's more complex than that. For instance, did you know that Vitamin C is needed to help metabolize the vitamin B so that your body can process it? I would take a B-Complex supplement along with a multi-vitamin. Try one of the "all natural" variety at a health-food store, because your body will absorb it better. I don't remember your full history.......are you recently sober?
Avatar f tn People who drink heavily tend to be very low on thiamine because the liver is working to process the alcohol in your system as opposed to processing other things (B vitamins for example). Severe Thiamine deficiency can have a whole slew of problems and for the reason above a lot of alcoholics can progress to the point where they need to start taking Thiamine intravenously. It's a serious state that is usually treatable but very dangerous if not taken care of.
Avatar m tn C, B, D, and A, also add a good, multi mineral as well. Exercise at least 35 minutes a day, I like brisk walking. Stop the smoking and alcohol, drink lots of water and fruit juices. If possible, do some research on "de-tox" and try that as well.
Avatar m tn This is normal with B vitamins. You will notice this happens if you use nutrtional yeast, too.
Avatar n tn Since then i am taking vitamins until now and i avoid drinking alcohol...What can you advise me? pls help me im afraid i cant work...
Avatar m tn Well, in the B-vitamin I had, I was getting over 3,000 percent of some B-vitamins, and the pill had thiamin, and niacin, and other nuerological minerals needed for the body, but I was getting too much. On top of that, if my body didn't feel good...or felt excessively tired, I took my typical vitamin....just because I thought, since I have EBV I really need to make up for it.
Avatar n tn i currnetly am taking actonel for my bones the past 3 years and klonopin i per night and take alot of vitamins such as B compex etc. no alcohol consumption but i do smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day no other medical conditions known 6 months ago all my blood workups were normal . 667829 tn?1297978123 A, B, C, D, and X. Category A is the safest, while drugs in Category X are unsafe for women who are pregnant or could become pregnant. There are not many Category A drugs, says Dr. Lund. "Prenatal vitamins are not even Category A, because if you overdose on them, they cause problems." But there are Category A drugs available for conditions such as nausea and vomiting, thyroid disorders, and gestational diabetes.
Avatar n tn You might be better with a holistic nutritionist -- they take those kinds of things more seriously. At any rate, you can always increase your uptake of B vitamins by taking a B complex or a stress B. The most likely ones to be deficient in are B12 a folic acid, especially for vegetarians, and B6 could be involved in those symptoms as well. But it's very hard to tell in one test -- testing over time is the only true way to tell. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I don’t know of any certain food will “control” HBV, but you can help your liver by eating a healthy diet and avoiding alcohol and unnecessary medicines. I’ve heard that Shiitake Mushrooms are good for the liver but I’m not sure. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best source of vitamins, but let me also put in a plug for V-8 Fusion Juice (the strawberry banana flavor is my favorite).
Avatar f tn You also want to look for the USP and USF labels on vitamins. It means they have been tested and contain the things they say they do and don't have things in them they shouldn't. Most of costcos vitamins have this seal on their stuff. I look for these seals when taking fish oils because the mecury has been taken out etc.
