Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
Avatar n tn How high is your blood pressure? If you are going to stay on Azor it would be best to make sure that your heart muscle is healthy.
Avatar n tn I am concerned. I take Azor for high blood pressure, I also have been exposed to TB (1987 took INH and B6 six months) I also have lactose intolerance, I take enzyme for. Should I take this medicine? My blood pressure is controlled with the medication. If I take the digestive enzyme could that eleviate the problem of lactose intolerant? I don't know what to do.

486822 tn?1208800499 Has anyone here hadan RAI for hyperthy? Can you tell me a little bit about what to expect. I'm very nervous about this because of what happens when the gland begins to die and starts dumping hormones in the blood stream. I read it can cause a storm and with my heart problems and high blood pressure, I'm terrified! Does anyone know if being on high does of beta blocker will help this. I'm currently on 400 mg of PTU per day, 200 mg of atenolol, and Azor for BP as well.
1090984 tn?1463769850 Your medication is focussed on lowering your high blood pressure and the high blood pressure can be primary with unknown cause or it can be secondary to an underlying cause that should be treated. For some insight on the meds: Angiotensin is produced by the kidneys and have important role in regulating blood volume and systemic vascular resistance (blood pressure).
Avatar m tn I think you should go back to your doctor and tell him that the medication you are taking is not agreeing with you. There are so many different kinds of high blood pressure medications that surely he can find one that agrees with you. Also, did he tell you that you can control your blood pressure by diet and exercise? There is no reason for you to feel this way when there are so many medicines for your problem.
Avatar f tn I would personally look into the natural ways of doing this, at least research them, as medication for high blood pressure, as with so much medication, can have consequences that are as bad as the high blood pressure, such as pulmonary problems. Again, as always, we have to do our homework and then make a choice.
Avatar n tn Keep a morning evening record of your blood pressure for a few days. If your blood pressure remains high after medication, then there are two possibilities. Either the medication is not suiting you. OR there is some underlying cause which needs to be eliminated.
4784669 tn?1360768722 I take blood pressure medication. I had high blood pressure prior to getting pregnant but stopped taking my medication when I found out that i was pregnant until week 19. I ended up in the ER because it was too high. The dr prescribed medication then and I have been taking it every day since then. I am now 37 weeks 4 days and will be induced in 9 days. The medication has controlled it all of this time and I haven't had any problems with my blood pressure since taking the meds.
Avatar n tn I have high blood pressure, had it before I got pregnant. Im on medication but wanted to try and breastfeed after I had her/him.. will I beable to?
Avatar n tn Sounds to me like you don't need blood pressure medication. I was put on it one time during a stressful time in my life. I resolved that and now I dont take anything. Have you tried not taking it and seeing what your BP does? Might be the wrong medication for you.
Avatar m tn My blood pressure medication has just been increased to 160mg (do not know what it is called). My problem is that i play squash and by the third game i start getting dizzie-- i took my blood pressure after each game and it is as follows: 118/79 149 pulse, 121/107 149 pulse, 118/72 147 pulse, 108/71 pulse 147.... I also played soccer on the weekend and in the afternoon when lying down i kept getting dizzie when getting up. I find that my blood pressure goes down and down when exercising...
4948466 tn?1392168046 I take my blood pressure using a wrist cuff "Life Source" device and my blood pressure varies considerably during the day. I try to sit down and rest a couple of minutes before taking the readings but always big swings. Occasionally 165/90 and a couple of hours later 113/71. I take 3 readings each time. I do the same at the drug store and get similar varied results. 63 years old with a history of past high cholesterol, normal now. Why the big swings?
Avatar f tn A sudden drop in blood pressure due to medication can cause headaches for a few days while your body adjusts. If it persists, I would do as alleycat2 suggests, ask for a different brand.
Avatar f tn my mother was asked to stop taking plavix by her cardiologist and since then has had severe headaches and increased blood pressure. She is already taking 2 blood pressure medications to control blood pressure, micardis and nifedipine xl. Do you think her increased bp is due to her coming off of plavix? She does have a pace maker and stints.
Avatar n tn I am 17 weeks pregnant and this week my OB prescribed Labatelol for my blood pressure. He said it's a low dose of 100mg twice a day. My blood pressure hasn't been horrible as I do check it at home often. I feel like it's only when I go in to the office that it is high. Has anyone taken this medication during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Blood pressure that has been ranging from 110/70 to 115/75 which is your case, is not something that you should worry about. The normal according to American Heart Association is less than 120 mmHg for systolic (upper number) and less than 80 mmHg diastolic (lower number). However, if your blood pressure goes lower than 80/50 mmHg, accompanied by dizziness, you should be concerned. Hypotension happens when your BP is lower than 90/60 mmHg.

2093458 tn?1334288521 Last month I went to see a P.A. They measured my blood pressure during my visit. My blood pressure was 128/68. Can you please tell me why I am consider pre-hypertensive? I thought the lower number is the most important number. I even heard that if the lower number gets to be around 90 then I should worry.
Avatar m tn Your diabetes is not helping your kidneys and to have high blood pressure along with this, your kidneys are going to suffer. Keeping your BP within a healthy range benefits you in so many ways. I hope you are on medication for the thyroid problem. Great job on being so healthy at your age, I wish you continued good health! Take care.
