The bacteria feed on the rotted foodstuff and eventually enter the Eustachian tube through the infected tooth. The Eustachian tube connects the throat, teeth; ears, eyes and head, infection that enters via the tooth can migrate or settle at one or more of these points causing pain. Take some analgesics for pain relief. Get your tooth treatment done. That will help.

Hello! I started out with an abscess around my lower left bicuspid. Dentist insisted that the tooth had to come out. I told her that I've never had a tooth extraction while having abscessing going on, and she said it was fine. Tooth was pulled and was sent home with an Rx of Clindamycin (150mg), 4xday. Infection got worse. Dentist, then used a lazer to open and drain the infected area. Several shots (7-8) of novacaine was needed to numb the area.
I am a man who received unprotected oral sex from a CSW last week (6 days ago). Brief encounter (<5min). In an unrelated note 3 days ago I began treatment for a sinus infection. This treatment is azithromycin (zpak total of 1500 mg over 5 days). Today, I am 1000 mg into the medication and I had a milky discharge during a bowel movement. I know, largely through this forum, that the real concerns are HSV, gonorrhea and NGU.
I had become ill with a winter respiratory infection and went to my PCP who prescribed azithromycin. The Z-Pak nailed in the infection but at the same time, my PVC's vanished. I mentioned this to my PCP on a followup visit, and he claims there is no connection.
More x-rays (thanks to the inventors of digital x-ray technology} showed what appeared to be infection under tooth. My dentist gave me a choice of extraction or root canal/draining of infection with the risk of the latter choice maybe not fixing the problem long term. Since the bite on this tooth from the one above was only partial, I opted for the extraction. My dentist referred me to an oral surgeon I got to see immediately. The surgeon asked if I wanted IV sedation or a local anesthetic.
While I was there he prescribed pennicillin for a tooth infection. He said if this did not work, he wanted to prescribe Clindymiacin. I explained to him that I had tried that in the past and it made me extremely ill. He said that yes, it could cause some cramping and loose stools, but I would just have to put up with it to get rid of the infection. It did not just cause a little bit of discomfort, I was doubled over in pain!
It progressively got worse so that night I went to ER and they prescribed Azithromycin for a sinus infection. It has almost been 48 hours since I started the antibiotic and I have had ZERO relief. No improvement whatsoever. Called doc back today and they suggested I try Sudafed.. and still nothing. I've sat by a humidifier, used a netti pot, tried clove oil, Tylenol, orajel, warm and cold compresses. Not even hydrocodone has helped the pain. NOTHING.
Hi, around 4 days ago I got sore throat following by a few mouth ucler (2 on the tongue). Then after 2 days (yesterday morning) my upper lip went a bit numb and really dry. Today the numbness is gone but still extremely dry no matter what I do. So in the afternoon I went to the doctor, and he told me I have an infection, didn't say anything else and prescribe me with "Azithromycin Monohydrate Tables". The problem is now my left eyes is completely red and a bit itchy.

I had a root canal done on my tooth 19th maybe about 3 years ago.
2 years ago my gum swelled because of pus & infection therefore the dentist did another root canal to remove the infection. I found out last sep. that there's some infection underneath that same tooth again, but
because of some complication with insurance i didn't do anything about it till now. This time there's no swelling or pain or any sort of discomfort.
The gums swelled up, so I went to the dentist. There was an abcessed tooth, so the Dentist pulled the tooth. The lump on my gums stayed swollen, so the Dentist took two additional x-rays of my mouth 2 and 3 weeks later and said the other teeth were fine and he wasn't sure what to make of it. He wanted me to wait and see if the swelling resided.
Of course condoms should be routine for casual or non-monogamous sexual encounters involving vaginal or anal intercourse, but a brief unprotected exposure like yours is unlikely to result in any infection, even if your partner had an active STD.
While I would not have recommended azithromycin without prior testing, it probably did no harm and provided good protection against gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU, and syphilis. Azithromycin commonly causes the gastrointestinal symptoms you experienced.
Would this still be effective in treating a gonorrhea infection if one was present? I have recently read about Azithromycin resistance in gonococal bacteria.

I just received my chlamydia treatment in the form of 4 tablets to be taken in one dose of Azithromycin. I starting menstruating today and I didnt know if there would be any reason this would affect the effectiveness of the drug. Also my partner was just treated yesterday...How long before we can resume having sex?
Hi, I got a bride fitted on my top left side, it is 4 teeth and fits on the tooth next to the top left wisdom tooth, obviously that tooth was ground and made smaller for the bridge to fit on it, the tooth was absolutely healthy and fine, i have never had any problems with that tooth earlier, the day grinding took place that tooth became sore, very very sensitive and I had to get temp.
Sounds like a tooth abcess, I had one of this this spring. Got a bump on the gum above the tooth. It can make the tooth hurt, but it doesn't have to. You need to go see a dentist, not good to have infections in the teeth.
You need antibiotics and then a root canal with a crown. Very expensive, but the only chance to save the tooth.
The important symptom is having a puss discharge like you had before. If you are having this it is a symptom of an infection but only testing would confirm what it is. Normally if treatment fails the same symptoms would appear in the same time frame which is about 5 days.
