Avatar m tn I am Male 42, from Pakistan I had unprotected sex vaginal and slight anal penetration once (big mistake ) with a sex worker on 27 Sept 13, on 29 Sept I felt severe itching in my groins and irritation in anus. I took 750 mg Azithromycin 29 sept night followed by 250 mg Azithromycin with 400 mg cefixime on 30 Sept morning. I waited for 24 hours The symptoms didn't resolve rather I started having severe irritation after peeing.
Avatar f tn That same day my doctor proscribed me Sandoz- azithromycin 250 mg (4 tablets) which I took all at the same time that same day with food. I am scheduled for a re-test three weeks from that day. However, every morning I wake up (with an erection) and I urinate and it still hurts but not during the rest of the day. But today at around lunch time the lower right side of my body began to hurt and by this evening my testicles began to hurt also. Not severely, but they hurt enough to notice.
Avatar m tn I tend to notice side effects whenever my dosage is adjusted by my prescribing doctor or when I initially start it or taper off of it. I believe that experiencing side effects are two fold with me. One, there were some side effects, and two I probably tended to 'magnify' or focus in on them more intently and decided that any odd feeling was related to the medication when in reality, it may not have been due to the sertraline.
4451049 tn?1387153437 " With the "Z-Pak", this means two 250-mg tablets (a total of 500 mg) on the first day and one 250-mg tablet once daily for the next four days.
1187113 tn?1320691496 When I was on it I would slowly increase my dosage. Started off at like 250 mg, then 500 mg, then 750 mg, etc., etc. up until I was at like 2000 mg. Metformin causes diarrhea and intestinal upset. Take it before bed to reduce the symptoms during the day. I would maybe take HALF (750 mg) and slowly increase as your body gets used to that amount. I know what you mean about the Metformin! I have PCOS and I feel like crap WITHOUT it. I can't take it because I'm breastfeeding.
Avatar f tn So long as they equaled at least 1000 mg, or more, you're both fine. Your pills may have been 250 mg, which together comes to 1000 mgs. Some give 2000 mg, which isn't necessary, but won't hurt you, other than some nasty side effects that will go away.
Avatar m tn To be safe, he gave me a shot of Rocephin and gave me 4 pills of Azithromycin, 250 mg each, all at once. He said within 24 hours, any Gonorrhea would be gone, and within 48 hours, any Chlamydia would be gone, as well. (I also read that Azithromycin is effective against NGU and syphilis, so I consider that a bonus.) And yes, he advised me to cover everything up next time - trust me, I heard him loud and clear ;) Thanks again for such a swift response and a truly terrific website.
Avatar f tn In the past two weeks, I have been experiencing itching and increased vaginal discharge, There has been slight pain with urination at times. My doctor prescribed me a Z-pack for respiratory infection & I took my first dose (2-250 mg) about 24 hrs ago, with 4-250 mg tablets remaining. If I have Chlamydia (& may based on research I have done) will the antibiotic treatment I am currently taking cure an STD as well? Also, how long to expect symptoms to subside after starting ABT therapy?
Avatar n tn There can be side-effects with the use of PPIs - no drug is without side-effects unfortunately. They can include changes to bone density - more ease of fracture - and anemic states due to loss of B12 uptake. Changes in bowel habits and loose stools can be a result of the use of PPIs. If you cut down on acid, you cut down on the amount of food that's thoroughly digested and able to be absorbed. Those materials will cause changes in the output of the digestive system in a number of ways.
Avatar m tn Soon after azithromycin was released, it was shown that taking a Z-pack, consisting of 500 mg on day one, followed by several days of 250 mg per day was slightly less effective than a single 1.0 gram dose. You took considerably more, The odds are very high that this sort of dosing is just as effective as a single 1.0 gram dose. If you were symptomatic and your symptoms co away, I would not worry further. Similarly, if your infection was asymptomatic, I would not worry further either.
Avatar m tn d also like to add the dosage for the Zpak was 250 mg pills. So the first dose was 2 pill at 250 mg each.
Avatar f tn She has been on 15 mg twice a day and the vet just upped it to one and a half tablets at night instead of the original 15 mg. I had called to ask if he could give me some 7.5 mg tablets as cutting these small pills in half was difficult. When I got to his office, the prescription had been changed to 30 mg twice a day. My dog is just beginning to recover from the half pill increase. The receptionist told me that the vet gave me the increase so I didn't have to cut any pills in half.
Avatar f tn I just started on Zohydro ER because the idea of not taking acetaminophen with hydrocodone was tempting. (There's a Black Box warning about the acetaminophen in Vicodin). The first day I started the Z. (about 5 days ago) I got less pain relief and much more pain than I had with 5/375 Vicodin! That's seems totally wrong but it happened. The dose of the Z is the same as I got for the number of 5/375s I took per day. Anyone else on Z. and how do you like it? Any side effects?
1872071 tn?1320287532 Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone in your brain. It doesn't interact with Zoloft. That said, melatonin doesn't work very well for insomnia but fortunately doesn't have the numerous side effects that most insomnia medications do. The best treatment we know of to date is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia which a Harvard study in 2004 demonstrated was better than medications and didn't have any of the side effects or long term expense.
Avatar f tn m 23 years old, 1/22/18 I tested positive for Chlamydia after experiencing UTI like symptoms and was prescribed 2 azithromycin 500 mg tablets from planned parenthood. Symptoms disappeared but then reappeared 3 months later and I returned and tested positive again and was pescribed doxycycline 100mg tabs once a day for 7 days. After treatment my symptoms continued to persist and I worried that I was still not cured.
Avatar n tn 200 mg/5 ml, 250 mg/5ml and 400 mg/5ml. The strengths reflect the amount of the drug in 5 ml, or 1 tsp., of the suspension. A child who takes 5 ml of the 250mg/5ml dose, for example, is receiving 250 mg of amoxicillin. The recommended pediatric dosage varies from 25 mg/kg per day to 45 mg/kg per day, depending on the underlying infection, according to Rx List. The suspension should be shaken well and measured with a marked measuring spoon to ensure that the right dose is given.
Avatar m tn The doctor did give me a shot for gonorrhea and a 1 gram dose of azithromycin (four 250 mg tablets). He also prescribed a 150 mg dose of Fluconazole in case of a potential yeast infection. I took all the medication yesterday. Would this work to clear up a case of NGU? And how soon should I see results?
Avatar n tn The dose to treat Chlamydia is 1000 mg or 4 250 mg tablets of azythromycin. This dose may not treat NGU. The chances you are worrying for nothing are great. You didn`t mention if you were treated for the gonorrhea. You also didn`t mention if your Doctor tested you in her office.
Avatar f tn My doctor wants me to start on Abilify but I declined after I read the side effects. Has anyone had any uncontrolled movements, weight gain, tardive dyskinesia, etc. with this medication. If so, please let me know. I really need a medication to replace the ones I went off of but my doctor is giving me no other choices. I'm absolutely scared to death about the side effects of this medication. Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated.
