thanks! i tried all your suggestions and there hasn't been any pain since. i'm still experiencing mild diarrhea but i guess i'm one of the unlucky 5% who experience side effects from azithromycin. thanks so much!

Dicloxacillin is a poor choice for any STD. It has no effect against chlamydia or the other bacteria that cause cervicitis in women and NGU in men, and borderline efficacy at best against gonorrhea and syphilis. The alternative to doxycycline is azithromycin 1.0 g orally in a single dose, which is safe and effective in pregnancy. If gonorrhea is a concern, then it's azithromycin plus a cephalosporin antibiotic, such cefixime or cefpodoxime; or a 2.0 g dose of azithromycin.

I cannot find a whole lot of information about gardnerella in men. On a side note, I am assuming the gardnerella was the cause of inflammation since I had tested negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea.

Azithromycin also called z-pak if Im not mistaken and I are best friends lol. I get it all the time when I have bronchitis. Its safe but you neex to eat something before taking it to avoid the side effects that you're getting.

Facial rashes, night sweats and the closing of my throat. That is when I stopped using Bactrim. All other side effects are gone except for the closing of my throat that comes on and off, especially when I'm done eating. It's been going on for 2 weeks (since my last bactrim dose). It doesn't make my breathing or eating any difficult but is just very annoying. It stopped for 2 days and happened one late night, 2-3 hours after drinking alcohol.

asked doctor today, he said could be the azithromycin, give it a couple of days.... however that is not on the side effects list of the azithromycin..... is this related to my ulcer... and what the hell is the cause of my ulcer if it is not syphilis and hsv... and so far azithromycin has not had the healing effect the doc said?

I looked at Zithromax side effects, they vary by the dosage, single or multiple doses, doses in combination with another drug, and are listed as pre-marketing trials and post-marketing reports. Rhythm issues were reported less than 1% of the time in pre-marketing trials, and also in post-marketing reports. Post marketing reports are apparently voluntary and often include things clearly not related to the drug.

Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?

I was just thinking about the pain during labor and im super nervous on what i should do.me and pain dont get along! Are the side effects from a epidural really bad and do it last a lifetime ?

Do you think it wise bringing a baby/ child into that environment? It's a hard call and one only you (?and your husband, partner, so) can make in consultation with your own doctor. I knew someone in a similar situation and she tried to harm her fetus while pregnant and later her daughter attempted suicide (due to the environment the mother raised her in). Are you in therapy to help address the anxiety?

Iv always suffered with constipation and it gets so much worse during pregnancy it's unreal, haven't had BM in 2 weeks now (sometimes it's longer). I took 1 dulcolax tablet on Monday night, woke up at 4am with stomach cramps. It's been 2 days and the diarrhea is just going away but iv still not had a bowel movement. Went to see a gastro doctor yesterday who prescribed me Docusate 100mg (Colace).

I didn't have any side effects except pregnancy, lol but some people may have them although not sure about the specific ones you asked about.

Welcome to the forum. Azithromycin in a single dose of 2 g is one of the back-up recommendations for gonorrhea treatment, if the treatments of choice (e.g. ceftriaxone, cefixime) are not available or if the infected person may be allergic to them. It is very reliable and has the advantage of also being effective against chlamydia -- which actually requires only a 1 g dose. Except for rare allergic reactions, the only side effect of azithromycin is gastrointestinal intolerance.

what do you think?? Progesterone side effects or could this be it? I was on progesterone w/DD but we got pg the first month trying (after 4 mc) so I don't have a reference point of progesterone w/o pregnancy.
