zithromax

1692704 tn?1307211780 My Azithromycin makes me very nauseated when I take it. I do take it along with food, but this doesn't always help. Anyone ever experience this with an antibiotic and if so, any suggestions to alleviate it??
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.
Avatar n tn but almost 2 hours after taking 1g single-dose azithromycin I developed serious diarrhea. Could the antibiotic have been evacuated and thus the effects negated prior to absorption in this short amount of time?
Avatar m tn I took azithromycin single dose of 1g yesterday for diagnosed Chlamydia. Would it hurt me to take a 2g does the following day to cover the possibility of gonnorhea? It wasnt diagnosed but since I have the medicine here, I wanted to take it to really cover my bases but didnt want to overdose or anything. I wish I would have just taken a single 2g dose the first day.
Avatar f tn I have had a cold for two weeks. I had unprotected sex Saturday and have felt nausea on Sunday and am now experiencing "urinary frequency". I don't have to go to the bathroom all the time, but I can pee and still feel like I have to right that moment. As I said, I am currently getting over a cold. I am on azithromycin. I also stress hardcore about EVERYTHING. It has not even been a week since sex.
Avatar f tn I had chlamydia for about 8 weeks, my doctor gave me a prescription of azithromycin to clear it up. A week and a few days later I started feeling mild abdominal pain and cramping, white discharge, itching around my vagina. I've also been feeling a little nausea from time to time. What can be the problem if I already took the medicine? Did I develop PID (pelvic inflammatory disease)?
Avatar m tn Thinking it could be Gonorrhea, Chlamydia or NGU, I went to see a doctor and he prescribed me with 250mg Ceftriaxone injection, and 1000mg Azithromycin in a single dose. The symptoms persisted for about a week and then went away. During this time however, I was a nervous wreck and of course did a lot of internet research. I decided to get an additional 500mg Ceftriaxone injection, and took 1000mg Azithromycin per day for 3 days. Just to be on the safe side.
1580703 tn?1651904887 well I take dulera/singulair and still can't exhale, even prednisone doesn't help that and can't speak in sentences.
Avatar n tn I just received my chlamydia treatment in the form of 4 tablets to be taken in one dose of Azithromycin. I starting menstruating today and I didnt know if there would be any reason this would affect the effectiveness of the drug. Also my partner was just treated yesterday...How long before we can resume having sex?
Avatar f tn After taking Azithromycin and getting a shot in my butt and waiting 7-8 days is it safe for me to receive oral sex from a female even if my symptoms cleared up the next day I took them and after being treated and given a shot and if I got treated within 5 days in noticing something is my chance of getting rid of a STD higher since I reacted on it faster and after waiting 7-8 days after taking azithromycin and getting a shot can not use a condom and still be safe even when the symptoms cleared up
Avatar n tn I told the doctor I was concerned about STDs, so she prescribed 4 tablets (250mg each) of Azithromycin and 1 tablet (500mg) of Ciprofloxacin. I took all dosage that same day. I still have that white dot on my tonsile. I don't have burning when I urinate, but my anus is still a little sore. 1) What are the chances I got an STD from this episode? 2) Which STDs should I be concerned about? 3) Could that green mucus have originated from his penis in the form of gonoreah?
Avatar m tn Adverse events reported with azithromycin during the post-marketing period in adult and/or pediatric patients for which a causal relationship may not be established include: Allergic: Arthralgia, edema, urticaria, difficulty breathing, and angioedema. Cardiovascular: Arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia and hypotension. There have been rare reports of QT prolongation and torsades de pointes.
Avatar n tn You have been tested not only for the most common bacteria associated with urethral infection (gonorrhea and chlamydia) and found to have negative tests, you have had your genital secretions examined for white blood cells (NGU or NSU, the terms are synonymous) and you have received azithromycin in a dose which would cure NGU, chlamydia and the majority of gonorrhea infections.
Avatar n tn I have not tested for STDs yet but I have taken a 5 day regiment of 250 mg azithromycin. The Itch is still there, I am starting on the refill today, same regiment. Also, I contacted the escort who said she had just been tested last week, and all came back negative. I do believe she is telling the truth. He/She offered to show me the paperwork. 3 days after the exposure, my wife gave me oral only. I did not ejaculate in her mouth. 1. Is my exposure a high a high risk one for STD's?
Avatar f tn I am aware that the common treatment for the std is azithromycin but i am unable to tolerate that medication without extreme vomiting and nausea following. I am a post lung transplant patient and am on a long list of medications including but not limited to immunosuppressants. I take a daily dose of 100mg of the antibiotic dapsone.
Avatar n tn 2%) on azithromycin and 1/22 (4.5%) on ciprofloxacin. Hence, azithromycin stat dose has proved to be a cost-effective treatment for uncomplicated gonorrhoea supported by the increased prevalence of penicillin-resistant organisms, concomitant chlamydial infection and the high failure rate in keeping review appointments.
Avatar m tn I have just finish the treatment for gonorrhea after finishing the prescribed 5 day dosage of azithromycin. After further reading on azithromycin in the internet, I stumbled upon some people saying including in this forums that taking azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis. I'm starting to get worried. I didn't notice any symptoms of syphilis on me at all. So is it possible that azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis? I hope my doctor knew what he was doing.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Azithromycin for 4 days. I have gotten worse. Still have fever and have developed nasal congestion with yellow discharge. ENT gave me Spectracef. I read that Spectracef does not treat mychoplasma. So, is there an antibiotic that would treat both mychoplasma AND sinusitis incase I have one or both?
Avatar n tn I was prescribed 1g of azithromycin 3 weeka ago in the UK for chlamydia. Unfortunately from a bad reaction I had to a medicine years ago, I have a phobia of tablets, so I crushed the azithromycin, mixed it with water, waited for it to dissolve (about 2 hours), and drank it (very foul bitter taste). After 3 weeks, my chlamydia is back, exactly the same stomach cramps, and discharge (I'm female).
Avatar m tn We we both prescribed 1000mg of azithromycin, 4 bills at 250mg. After 7 days of taking the medication we engaged in protected vaginal sex (condom). About 2 weeks later we performed unprotected oral sex (both of us giving and receiving) and continued with protected vaginal sex. 4 weeks after taking azithromycin I got re-tested for chlamydia which my results came back as negative. Her's came back as positive. How common is it for 1000mg azithromycin not to be effective for clamydia?
Avatar f tn Ok so i was treated for Chlamydia [havent got results back yet] with the 4 pink pills called Azithromycin [one time dosage]. My symptoms were itchy penis and i had discharge coming from my penis. I was treated for Chlamydia and my symptoms pretty much went away i still have very mild discharge [only in the moring] its been almost a week since i was treated, is this normal? should it be complety gone already?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Chlamydia a week ago, and took my antibiotics (azithromycin) two large 500 mg pills and threw up almost 30 minutes after...Does this mean i have to get re-dosed?
