after these analysis, I went to another Doctor that gave me (Azithromycin) for (MRSA) for 7 days start from 25-june-2009 to 2-Aug-2009, but the granules still on my tongue and now after I taked Azithromycin, I have diarrhea.
Well, to me your question is complicated. First Azithromycin is not the drug of choice but MRSA could be sensitive to it. Did he get this in the hospital or at home (in the community)? if so then the drugs of choice are dependent on whether he has pneumonia or not or if it is just in the throat. Pain in the lung sounds like pneumonia but then his Xray was ok? So, I would say he should see an infectious disease specialist if he isn't getting better.

Run-of-the-mill strep throat usually gets a single whopping antibiotic (e.g. Z-pac/ azithromycin) but not double antibiotics and steroids to boot. Have they perhaps mentioned a concern for MRSA (penicillin resistant staph infection)? That would make more sense... As far as they reaction goes, I think it is more likely you have a mild thyroiditis -sort of like your thyroid getting the flu. This would cause the rate increase.

I also had MRSA and have just found out that I am a MRSA carrier although, I am not infected at the moment.I also have RA and take 7.5 mg of Mexotraxate one time per week. My new orthopedic surgeon called my RA doctor and said hey, need to back off the Mexotraxaate and ALL steriod shots until the foot has healed. My RA doctor concurred. Now, the Orthopedic surgeon was okay with me taking the Medrol which is "Tablets contain methylprednisolone which is a glucocorticoid.
Sparky, behavior issues aside, I am struggling with the thought he has MRSA and is not being treated. I have an acquaintance who had a 4 year old girl with MRSA, and the girl was hospitalized and her home quarantined until it could be disinfected.
I don't mean to ignore your concerns about his behavior, but I'm just overwhelmed that it doesn't seem he's being treated for MRSA - has he been treated yet and supposedly cleared?

I was recently diagnost with herpes type 2 and i was wondering even with a test done can it be mistaking for MRSA? i did have a case of MRSA in my arm pits as well as a few of my family members with whom i live with, i did not take any anti biotics because it kinda went away on its own. i later found out that its pretty hard to get rid of MRSA. But at the same time i dont experience any itching or burning in the genitalia area and i am aware that it can stay dormant.
MRSA can be spread by alot of means, but it really depends on where the MRSA is colinized in the person. There are a few ways to get this, and if it is in the nose, mouth, or something like that sure via phone would be a way to get it. The best pertection from this is washing your hands. If you notice you have touched something they have had wash your hands. Also hand santizers are good. You could also ask the person that has the MRSA if they were decolinzed.

However the MRSA caused her to loose her ability to walk, control her bowel and bladder and it destroyed the nerves and after having MRSA, she constantly got infections of other kinds.

doctors are trying to diagnose and treat the symptoms of lupus, with a positive ANA test, swelling that only response to high doses of steriods and those cause horrible side effects. I hurt all over all the time, sometimes so bad I can only get relief when I'm asleep. have fine tremors and memory issues, my entire body is swollen, I'm taking so many medications to lower this overactive immune system that now the doctors warn me about being around sick people.
FYI, most impetigo is caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. Some by Streptococcus pyogenes (the same strep that causes strep throat). This kind of Staph causes boils, or crusty kinds of infections. If it becomes multi-drug resistant then they call it MRSA. But yours probably isn't MRSA. Where do you have it and is it on a large part of your body? Usually, you can use the triple antibiotic ointment on it and that will take it away.
She had surgery and a week later had developed a bad MRSA infection in her arm wound. Doctor cleaned it out and bandaged it. She went to a "skilled nursing" facility to rehab. The wound once again was not properly addressed and had a lot of infection. She went back to hospital and doctor "cleaned" the wound and said with all the oral antibiotics she is MRSA free. We are at the end of our rope. My 17 year old daughter has been getting MRSA for about 3 years. We have tried everything we know to do. She is allergic to sulfur drugs so those are not an option for her. She gets abscesses at least once every 1.5 to 2 weeks sometimes more. We were at our local Childrens hospital last night to have a very large one drained. She was on Zyvox during Thanksgiving and we were free of abscesses for 3 weeks. That is the longest she has gone without having one.

I have just been dx with MRSA(4 hrs ago) in my ears. I have been chronically ill for over 18 mos and have been on and off Prednisone, thus my immune system is weak. Over the last week I have been having extreme muscle and bone pain. I am terrified. The doctor that gave me my dx said that I should be treated w/IV drugs however he is now on vacation, my PCP is out until Monday. I have been given an antibiotic shot, antibiotic drops for my ears and an oral antibiotic.
