I have just finish the treatment for gonorrhea after finishing the prescribed 5 day dosage of azithromycin. After further reading on azithromycin in the internet, I stumbled upon some people saying including in this forums that taking azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis. I'm starting to get worried. I didn't notice any symptoms of syphilis on me at all. So is it possible that azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis?
I hope my doctor knew what he was doing.
You didn't have a risk for HIV> Hiv is transmitted by unprotected vaginal or anal sex (penetrating) and sharing of IV drug needles. Since you used a condom, no risk. Plus, hiv doesn't hurt your testicles. You called a doctor and were never seen? Honestly, I think some of this is psychosomatic due to your anxiety. You feel all sorts of things when you are scared and nervous. Does it go away a bit if you are focused entirely on something else?
I was tested negative for HIV and Hep B and Syphilis at 11weeks and 3days. I was also tested negative for gonorrhea and positive for chlamydia at 10 weeks and 2days. I was gona get tested again at 6months for HIV, Syphilis and Hep B to make sure, what do you think?

Before posting this message to you I have read most of the threads on oral sex from the HIV prevention health forums and from the international and HIV prevention medical community. An all the experts from the health forum experts say zero risk from oral sex.
My question to you Dr what are my real risks or odds of HIV from this single exposure?
Do you think STDs test needed ? I have already taken Azithromycin Zitromax 1g yesterday and I havent had symptoms apart from a cough now and again.

I just had sex with an Asian csw in Las Vegas. We had vaginal sex for about 10 minutes. Sometime during the act the condom came off inside her. I don't know when. I know that she had to pull it out from inside her so I know that it did not come off when I pulled out but actually during the sex. She said she was checked out 6 months ago and that she is clean. I have 2 questions. What are my chances of getting hiv or any other std's and should I test?

106 days after condom-protected vaginal/oral and some nipple-licking exposure with a CSW in Brazil I had a full STD panel done. Everything came back negative (HIV/HepB/C/Syphilis/Chla/Gono/Myco). One question thought.
1 week after exposure I took 1g Azithromycin just to be safe incase of chlamydia etc. But now my horrors are for syphilis.

I have been diagnosed with chlamydia in my urine (2 weeks ago) and in my anus (last week). 2 weeks ago, I was given one dose of 1g azithromycin that helped (pain when urinating gone). Last week, since they also found chlamydia in my anus, I was again prescribed doxycycline (2x100g) for 7 days. However, the clinic made a mistake and only gave me 12 (instead of 14) 100g tablets that make my treatment will only lasts 6 days.
2) I have read online that syphilis strains have become resistant against azithromycin, how do you judge that for Germany and my situation in particula? 3) Is HIV even a concern 4) Can you calculate my risk in numbers (especially syphilis)? 5) My wife and kids will be back in 12 days and I have to function by then again. Any hints how I may manage this (Iknow that is somewhat beyond the scope of that forum)?

the TPPA and RPR test are all negative,but I take 12 pills of Azithromycin to cure my NGU during the 4 weeks,and I did not take the pills for 5 days before I take tke test.some one told me that the Azithromycin would cure the syphilis,and it will make the test result inaccurate,should I test syphilis again,and would the Azithromycin make the result inaccurate?
Today I am urinating frequently (I am drinking aqua) and have burning urination. A friend (medical student) said me take azithromycin 2gr one dosis for prophylaxis for others STD's (Gonorrhea - chlamydia)
Could it be HIV?? Is my friend right?? Should I be tested??

Thinking it could be Gonorrhea, Chlamydia or NGU, I went to see a doctor and he prescribed me with 250mg Ceftriaxone injection, and 1000mg Azithromycin in a single dose. The symptoms persisted for about a week and then went away. During this time however, I was a nervous wreck and of course did a lot of internet research. I decided to get an additional 500mg Ceftriaxone injection, and took 1000mg Azithromycin per day for 3 days. Just to be on the safe side.
The good studies which have looked at the subject in HIV discordant couples - couples where one person is HIV positive and the other HIV negative - have shown zero transfer of HIV. There are anecdotal reports of people identifying oral sex as their only risk factor though these are very rare.
In repspect of your 2 g azithromycin, this will have dealt with primary syphilis, chlamydia, and probably gonorrhoea.
About 2 weeks after these visits I had mild irritation and on one morning a small amount of white material at the end of my penis. A MD prescribed 2 grams of azithromycin one time for this a week ago. I also have had a previous bout of prostatitis due to Proteus (years ago). My questions are 1. What was my risk of stds (gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, NGU could happen), 2. Would this medication address the STDs and 3. Do I need a "test of cure"?
s other than HIV. I am not extremely worried about HIV anyways, as I know from your other posts that most CSW's do not carry it. She is from the phillipines and says she is here to support her children. It has been 4 days and I am feeling a little bit of a tingling feeling in the tip of my penis and there is a small bump about mid shaft that I didn't notice before. I am thinking about going to the clinic and just getting treatment without testing.
