Avatar m tn I am concerned about possible drug interactions between the antibiotic azithromycin and the two heart medications warfarin and amiodarone. My relative has brief history of heart problems span one and a half years (though the underlying heart condition itself appears to be congenital). Rhythm problems resulted in CHF, hospitalization, and later diagnosis and heart surgery. Subsequent dysrhythmia and CHF has been prevented adequately with medication.

Avatar n tn Hello everybody.I am male 31 years no heart problems or heart history problems in my family(this meaning my parents). I have a serious problem . 3 days ago I took a single dose of Azythromycine of 1000 mg( 2 pills of 5oo mg taken all at once). Now I am experiencing palpitations ,chest pain ...and tachycardia.I never had tachycardia before so I am guessing that all of the symptoms that I am experiencing are due to Azithromycin .What should I do?How long will these symptoms last?
Avatar m tn Hello! I have a history of SVT, which was treated with an ablation in 2006. I recently got a bad upper resp. infection and was prescribed the Z pack. I started it on Wednesday and on day 3 (FRIDAY morning) I woke up at 2 am out of my sleep with heart palpitations. I immediately thought, "omg, the SVT is coming back". This went on for 3+ hours, with about 15-20 intervals of 2-3 palps. per minute.
Avatar n tn Im female, I tested positive for gonorrhea as well as BV. I received treatment on Dec 16th, I took 2g of azithromycin and started metro for the BV. I'm still having a lot of discharge. If the azithromycin doesnt work, which I dont think it is, I'll have to wait 30 days to get tested again. Im so mad at myself and I feel hopeless. Im terrified of passing it somehow to my kids thru casual contact, Everything I read says a simple kiss could pass it. Im ready to pack my bags and leave home.
Avatar n tn He also sent my test to the lab to get DNA test done. i have a history of prostate discomfort (saw a urologist a few years ago) he wasn't so sure about NGU diagnosis; thought it might be prostatis, etc. 1) Would azythro eliminate ability to test for STI after 3 days, even if I was still feeling possible symptoms? Would my GP's dna test be accurate? 2) Could I have trich? Is there any way to test for trich in males? Would that be done by my GP?
4451049 tn?1387153437 I don't trust Drs. So when I'm prescribed anything at all, I will look further into it. The FDA warns about the possibility of deadly heart rhythms with this medication. They state that the "overall risk is low". However, I do have some risk factors. And after reading some of the reviews of individuals supposedly suffering life long heart related problems from this drug, I was somewhat reluctant.
Avatar n tn I just received my chlamydia treatment in the form of 4 tablets to be taken in one dose of Azithromycin. I starting menstruating today and I didnt know if there would be any reason this would affect the effectiveness of the drug. Also my partner was just treated yesterday...How long before we can resume having sex?
Avatar f tn After taking Azithromycin and getting a shot in my butt and waiting 7-8 days is it safe for me to receive oral sex from a female even if my symptoms cleared up the next day I took them and after being treated and given a shot and if I got treated within 5 days in noticing something is my chance of getting rid of a STD higher since I reacted on it faster and after waiting 7-8 days after taking azithromycin and getting a shot can not use a condom and still be safe even when the symptoms cleared up
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.
Avatar n tn I just went to the doctor for bronchitis today and he prescribed azithromycin. in looking up the side effects, they talk about prolonged QT waves and ventricle tachycardia. The doctor had me go to get an keg on my way out...for a baseline? Should I be worried about being on this medicine? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Can magnesium or zinc affect the effectiveness of treatment (1 g Azithromycin)? I took a pill with my my prescription. The internet says it lowers the effectiveness. Is that true? If so, why didn’t the doctor or pharmacist let me know? Thoughts?
Avatar m tn Took Azithromycin 500 mg for 6 days. Doc put me on a combination with Doxy 100 mg twice a day but I had a reaction to Doxy so I only stuck with Azithromycin. My urine analysis showed moderate growth of Strep Group B as well. Doc said that the co infection with strep group B could be the reason for treatment failure against MG. So I've started a Nitrofurantoin course for 7 days 100 mg twice a day for Strep Group B. Symptoms are better but not fully resolved after Azithromycin.
Avatar f tn I recently was diagnosed with chlamydia after a partner cheated and then experienced unexplained hepatitis the day after taking antibiotics for the treatment. My ALT levels were 523 and AST 190 and Alkaline phosphatase 258, albumin 1.1 and slightly reactive lymphocytes. I went from 140 pounds to 125 pounds in the course of a week and a half despite normal diet. Prior to this I have a Rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 anti trypsin deficiency type ZZ confirmed diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Taking Tylenol/Advil around the clock for discomfort. Put on Azithromycin and Zovirax (in case there were any cankers behind tonsil that he couldn't see). Also had routine blood drawn for upcoming physical. Got results yesterday. Wbc 14.3 and Abs Neuts 12.18. The remaining CBC was completely normal. Throat/ear is still very sore at times and still red. Finished antibiotic yesterday Possibly slightly improved.
Avatar m tn This freaked me out and I started on Azithromycin 500Mg on Monday evening. I have taken 4 tablets since then. I have redness in my eyes and had some swelling in the eyes today morning. I don’t have discharge from my penis but have a tingling and burning feeling through the day. Please note that I drink around 150Ml of alcohol everyday. I am going in tomorrow to get tested anonymously for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. 1) What are my chances of picking up any STD’s?
Avatar m tn I am just being curious here but has any one in recorded history ever gotten HIV from "fingering" or a handjob. It just seems that a lot of us have been exposed to this level. Around the hand most people have little scrapes or loose skin generally due to the norms of life either as part of what we do at work or through normal everyday household chores and thsu the concern for most of us. Would anybody on this forum know or have heard of transmission via these exual activities.
