So I decided not to go with Moxi yet. Took Azithromycin 500 mg for 6 days. Doc put me on a combination with Doxy 100 mg twice a day but I had a reaction to Doxy so I only stuck with Azithromycin. My urine analysis showed moderate growth of Strep Group B as well. Doc said that the co infection with strep group B could be the reason for treatment failure against MG. So I've started a Nitrofurantoin course for 7 days 100 mg twice a day for Strep Group B.

On a personal note I had a non Group A streptoccous infection that was usually a type that causes sore throat that would be negative on a strep test because the strep test only checks for group A strep (Streptoccous pyogenes) it was a group C and I woke with it and within hours I had a very high fever, extremely exhausted, and both of my tonsils were solidly covered with pus. I could barely drive a few blocks to get to the doctor. He had to give me two shots of Azithromax and a Zpack.

That is an indication of a throat infection . The most common throat infection is due to "Strep" . Viruses don't usually cause pus. A strep test only usually picks up Group A strep or Streptococcus pyogenes. But the culture should show any type of throat infection. PCR can also do this or molecular methods.

Hello, I had a sore throat with swollen lymph nodes and I found out I had some sort of strep beta-hemolytic bacterial infection that isn't group A, C, or G. Due to a recent oral sex encounter, I got tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia in the throat. Those swabs were done with the Aptima Combo 2 Assay and came back negative. Urgent care said I had strep and he prescribed me a azithromycin and Diflucan for yeast (no swab).
