Hi please I need help I have been coughing for like 2 weeks no fever just like tickle in my troath, I start feeling like a weird sound in my right lung every time I take deep breath, I went to the doctor and he said It was bronchitis I started an azithromycin cycle 6 tablets , I finished taking it 2 days ago ... I still coughing and still felling that weird sensation in my back every time I take a deep breath , what can this be, how long this can last?

it was horrible, i woke up at night with trouble breathing. eventually the cold lessened. but i had bronchitis for like almost 3 weeks. i have taken antibiotics azithromycin but it didnt do much. after 5 days i was still miserable. i was put on it again for an extra 5 days but it just didnt work. finally my doctor put me on amoxicillin/Clav 875mg and that helped a little. and the bronchitis seemed to have cleared. then a week later my ears begin to hurt. the pain was pretty bad.

If the sputum is present, it should be sent for culture and sensitivity to start appropriate antibiotic. As you have taken already a course of Azithromycin, wait for resolution and meantime go for throat swab and antibiotic sensitivity. It would probably be 2 or 4 pills, or a nasty powder they mix with water.
