Azithromycin dosage dog

Common Questions and Answers about Azithromycin dosage dog

zithromax

Avatar n tn It might be, it does seem a little light but it could clear a STD up if you had it. Best thing is always wait for tests. And I think this is why the Dr went light on the dosage.
Avatar f tn Yes, a ZPack is azithromycin, but a ZPack is actually a pre-packaged 5 day course, at least here in the US. And I just learned that it's Z-Pak. Cute. This is an image of what it looks like - https://www.grxstatic.com/d4fuqqd5l3dbz/products/tms/Package_14438.
Avatar n tn I have started the normal dosage of azithromycin for it's common use (I am sick), but found out that someone I slept with may have had chlamydia in the past. Would the dosage of 500 mg per day for 3 days (total of 1500 mg) be effective for treating chlamydia if I have it? I have already talked the first 500 mg tablet today. Should I take 2 x 500 mg tomorrow? Or continue my current dosage?
Avatar f tn Ok so i was treated for Chlamydia [havent got results back yet] with the 4 pink pills called Azithromycin [one time dosage]. My symptoms were itchy penis and i had discharge coming from my penis. I was treated for Chlamydia and my symptoms pretty much went away i still have very mild discharge [only in the moring] its been almost a week since i was treated, is this normal? should it be complety gone already?
Avatar n tn I wasn't entirely sure what topic to put this under but here is my quesiton... For months and months I've had trouble with my water works, I've had numerous urine samples, an ultrasound on my kidneys, x rays and I am now waiting on a cystoscopy. I've never felt the need to have an STD test because I have always believed my boyfriend was completely honest about his previous sexual encounters.
Avatar m tn This wouldnt be the correct dosage? Is there a difference between azithromycin 250mg and 500mg, even if they are added up to the same exact dosage? Would 1000mg of azithromycin (from a zpack) cure chlamydia is my question.
Avatar m tn I have just finish the treatment for gonorrhea after finishing the prescribed 5 day dosage of azithromycin. After further reading on azithromycin in the internet, I stumbled upon some people saying including in this forums that taking azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis. I'm starting to get worried. I didn't notice any symptoms of syphilis on me at all. So is it possible that azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis? I hope my doctor knew what he was doing.
Avatar f tn I had some azithromycin prescribed to me for diarrhoea from my doctor before I came overseas, to use in case of illness/travellers diarrhoea and inability to see a doctor. I looked up the uses of azithromycin and saw that it could be taken for chlamydia. Unfortunately at that time I didn't read the prescribed dose, so I took 1000mg in the way that is recommended for travellers diarrhoea, two 250mg tablets Day 1, Day 2 + 3 one 250mg tablet.
Avatar f tn I have some ondansetron 8mg for vomiting for me what would be the dosage for a dog that has terrible motion sickness in car
Avatar f tn Can anyone help me please! I know the standard dosage for chlamydia is 1g of azithromycin usually 2 x 500mg pills, my question is would 500mg over 3 days cure the chlamydia as it's over the 1g?
Avatar n tn 2) What other drug/dosage is commonly prescribed for UTIs? I cannot afford to visit a clinic/doctor right now at all, so telling me to ask my doctor, consult my care provider, etc, though understandable, will be of absolutely no help.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have recently been diagnosed with mild NGU although I am still waiting for my Chlamydia and Gonorrhea results. I have been given one single dose of azithromycin (1 g) . It has been four days now, and when i urinate there is still a burning sensation. I have not had any discharge at all. Before (Hours before) I have the burning feeling when I urinate, I also have a feeling of pressure/pain at my pelvis. 1.
4550832 tn?1356805269 I originally came to medhelp because of my old dog, of all things. My sister in law got some real good information about her dog on the dog forum. I think I did too.
Avatar n tn My 15 pound mixed Chi has been showing signs of hypo-thyroid, weight gain and increased agressive behavior. Is it absolutely necessary for her to see the vet to get the correct dosage for her? I am retired and on a very limited budget, they get their shots, flea and heart worm meds, but another visit to the vet will absolutely break me! Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Just 4 days ago I started to feel itchiness on the same area and it was a few small blisters so the next day I started again the same treatment, the same dosage. The scabs stop growing or spreading and by now are dry. Its been only 2 months apart this second outbreak. The antiviral its really expensive but given the frecuency of the outbreaks should I go under supressive therapy? and if so, Whats the dossage and period of time i should do it? P.S.
Avatar n tn Just to clear things up, I'm a man, it's not a big deal either way except it gives me a different perspective on these things. I did mention that 1g of azithromycin can have failures, but the truth is that still it will work most of the time. Actually azithromycin will nearly always work when it's taken for a longer period, like 500mg for 7 days. It's a good drug to use for treatment, it's just 1g is often not sufficient.
Avatar n tn I guess I should rephrase. Would the dosage given clear up NGU that is not caused by Chlamydia? I'm not sure what the failure rate of urine test is, but I am guessing that testing after a week would typically generate a low false negative result for chlamydia and gonorrhea? I gave a beginning stream sample and waited right at an hour before urination. Am I correct to assume that I should be most concerned with a non-chlamydial NGU? The doctor had gonorrhea in his mind for some reason.
Avatar n tn I went to a urologist and was given an immediate shot for gonorrhea and 1g (2x 500mg) azithromycin initially, with an additional 500mg to be continued each day for 3 days. Given my activity and symptoms it was pretty obvious what it was. The only thing lacking was a discharge. After day 3, the painful urination did not subside at all. I found this very strange since last time I got the gonorrhea shot the painful urination stopped the exact same day.
Avatar m tn m on the medication, azithromycin dosage is over and 2 tablets left for levofloxacin, and my eye redness has reduced a bit and the burning during urination reduced a bit too but not completely gone. What i want to know is:- 1.Will this antibiotic course be enough to cure my conjunctivitis? 2.Should I be taking antibiotic eye drops as well? 3.should i go see an ophthalmologist? 4.My vision gets a bit blurred at times, but washing with water or blinking a few times fixes it.
Avatar m tn I went back to the clinic and they said it should be no way I still have chlamydia but they saw that I had a massive amount of discharge in my penis(which I am assuming came about because I was off of medication) so they gave me another 1g dosage of Azithromycin and also a 4 day dosage of Azithromycin to take over the next 5 days(starting the next day since I had just taken the 1g of Azithromycin).
Avatar f tn s NSU caused by friction during intercourse with a tight female. He prescribed me antibiotics (Azithromycin). I completed the full dosage two days ago. I still have the discharge (whitish, small amounts of discharge but hapening throughout the day) with very mild irritation in the urethra area. What is my next step here? Does this go away shortly after taking antibiotics? Could this be something else? Do i need more tests?
Avatar n tn If you took azithromycin in one dose, that would take up to around 7 days to fully work. If you took doxycycline for 7 days, it will be cured by the time you are finished those meds. I'm guessing, maybe, that you were being treated for chlamydia and had sex too soon. If that's the case, your partner should be told to test. If your partner was being treated and you had sex too soon, you should test.
Avatar f tn So, in late July of 2017 I was tested positive for chlamydia after having suspectible symptoms. I took the given dosage of azithromycin and my symptoms were gone within the next week or so, as expected. Months later (Early December 2017) I began to have discomfort in my testicles, not necessarily pain, but mostly somewhat of a ‘pressure’ feeling. I also had slight discomfort during urination as well, but only in the morning and it was very mild.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Azithromycin to syphilis (early stage). I am allergic to penicilin. However, the doctor prescribed 5 doses (one a day) of 500mg (that is, during 5 days). But I have read that for Syphillis the recommendation is 1g dose (instead of 500mg). 1) Is the dose prescribed enough for Syphillis? 2) five days is enough?
Avatar f tn t gotten any advice but I am thinking that keeping her on the recently upped dosage (less than a week ago the vet upped the dosage to attempt to control the seizures that were happening more frequently). I am thinking that keeping her on the recently upped dosage and not increasing the dosage again in less than a week was the right decision. She is coming out of her medication reaction somewhat and beginning to show her personality again.
