avinza pain medication

My daughter was told at her pain clinic that she could not build a tolerance to Avinza. My daughter has to be taken off of Avinza and put on something else for a while and go through terrible withdrawl, including restless leg syndrome, then she sees the nurse again and has to argue with her to get her to put her on Avinza again.

I am on avinza 60mgx1 daily and it does dull my pain. I take it in the AM. My pain doc is strict and it is a fight with him he will not give me breakthrough. also gampahamentin 600x3 helps with celabrix. I am miserable most of the time. People hate me. I hate my PM doctor..

YES, and prior I was taking kadian. with both of them I felt minimal WD's. and if you have to take something, I would recommend either. They don't give you the euphoric feeling that hydrocodone does. I would not even take them some days, and never had a craving. I have a full bottle here in front of me and have no desire to take one. BUT I do have to warn you DO NOT DRINK while taking them. I went out to lunch with a friend.

I will see my pain manangement doc in 2 weeks. I ahve been on avinza 90mg for 2 years. Xodol for breakthrough pain for 2 years. My pain level is increasing and the xodol does nothing for my break through pain. Any ideas what options are available for me.

However, I am scared of this new medication. The pain is so severe. I have tried several different kinds of non- narcotic meds and they don't help. Does anyone have any comments to give me support. I know about relapse due to narcotic pain meds- but I feel I have no choice right now. i am seeing an Orthopedic surgeon soon.. so maybe that will help me.

Has anyone had any withdrawl problems with Avinza if they miss one day of medication??

I got my dosage down from a high of approximately 450-500 mg a day to 30mg of Avinza a day. Oxycodone is for BT pain. I took my last Avinza at 10pm Sat, July 19. I have not had oxycodone for a few weeks. I was told to take a 25mg Librium and a 1mg Terazosin 24 hr later. Terazosin every 12 hr & Librium every 8 hr. It has been 35 hours since my last Avinza. I woke up a little dizzy, everything aches, it is taking a long time to type this because my fingers keep going numb.

Is morphine (avinza) a stronger narcotic than percocet? I have 60 mg tablets of avinza, so if I take one of those, is that like taking 6 of the percocet 10/325?

and i take Avinza 30 mg one a day and percs for breakthrough pain. Ireceived a letter theother day from my part d provider telling me that the Avinza will not be covered after this month i was wondering if anyone else received a letter like this.. i took a copy to my dr and pharmisct because my scrip refill is do this coming week.. they have to send in specific reason why i have to have that particuler med... now is this insane or is it just me??

but in the mean time, a pain management specialist prescribed Avinza (morphine) and for the first few days to adjust to it, some anti-nausea meds. Now, I'm not saying that it was a cure all. But for the first time in years, I could relax a little. Now, because of the disease & meds, I'm not supposed to drive, but I did LEAVE the window down (on the passenger's side) and felt the breeze on my face -- it brought me to tears.... Hi...I am 49 years old woman with rsd in both hands. Just wanted an opinion on the med's i'm on. 3200mg gabapentin...40mg nortriptylin..( these were both just raised) 60mg cymbalta 15 mg roxicodone..4xdaily as needed...75mg avinza once daily...is this alot of medication? My pain isn't under control at this point. About a month and a half ago my pain mgmt nurse pract had given my lorcet...that along with the 60mg. avinza , gabapentin, roxicodone cymbalta worked pretty well...

I went from 10/325 oxycodone 4x a day to 30mg avinza, and now I am taking 45mg avinza still with no relief. My pain remains between 5-8 with 9 most evenings. I dont want to be labeled by telling my doc I am not getting any relief. I am looking for suggestions. Bulging discs in entire lumbar region with moderate narrowing of bilateral pathways and 2 central protrusions with narrowing coupled with arthritis. Any suggestions are welcome, I am in unfamiliar territory.

I was prescribed. Suboxone to avoid WDs from Avinza. Avinza is a continuous release morphine pill that a pain clinic dr prescribed me for severe & chronic pain. I was on a very high dosage of Avinza and could not function. When I asked to get off of it they put me on suboxone. . I wasn't given an option. I've been on it now for approx 3 1/2 years. My 1st attempt to taper off suboxone was he11! I didn't sleep for a month, was in the worst pain ever.

I have been on pain medication for two years due to some problems. I had surgery in April and since then have tapered down off the meds. I was on Avinza 60 and oxy for breakthrough before surgery. I slowly weaned off of them and just finished the hydrocodone taper on Tuesday. My question is this Friday night and Saturday I had to take oxy again due to a cyst. I was just wondering if that would make the withdrawals start again.

I want to see how I do on my own with the pain. I just think that the pain medicine leads to more and more and more... Before you know it you cannot even go for a walk without having a morphine something or other... So here I am 6:40 AM my time. In pain but... I've got a life, a wife a job. I'm just really curious to see how my body does without all the crutches. I bet it will do better not worse. Still exercising. My parents bought me an inversion table, it helps.

s a day and liked the Avinza so much better. Avinza is basically 24 hour time release Morphine. I take two 90 mgs caps every morning. And it keeps me from going into wds and gives a good base of coverage.. way way better than I had for the year I was on the patches.

Avinza it;s a synthetic moriphine ! Worked probably 50x better than the Moriphine Sulphate . Un fortunately its very expensive and my insurance wanted to leave me with a $600 monthly copayment ... Now Im on the Moriphine Sulfate . It ***** ! It doesnt work as well as the Avinza and the Moriphine side effects are on days as bad as the pain ! Try Avinza no where near as many adverse side affects.

She started me on percocet and avinza to address the pain, and worked with me to management pain, improve exercise, nutrition, sleep, and to reduce stress. I am now feeling better than I have in 6 years and have slowly ( and voluntarily ) reduced the amount of pain meds to half of what I began with. Now, I only take the percocet a few times a month when I feel really bad. Just knowing that I have it available, if I need it, actually reduces the stress and worry about having another flare-up.

Fentanyl Transdermal has been the most effective and consistent pain medication for me compared to the others I have tried. I am on the 50 mcg/hr patch and I change it every 48 days. I use Percocet for breakthrough pain. I suffer from degenerative disc disease in my lower back that includes spinal stenosis, bone spurs, ruptured disc, L5 nerve root impingement, and osteoarthritis at L4-L5. I also have a completely dessicated disc at L5-S1 that is impinging the S1 nerve root.

it is a nerve blocker like neurontin but it is habit forming and not recomended for addicts....my friend is addicted to it...so it is the truth...does nothing for me except make me feel like a ton of bricks wet...hits her pleasure button and she loves it...everyone is different...
