Such sore swollen gums can be due to gingivitis,infections,malnutrition and vitamin C deficiency,pregnancy or sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash .
Take vitamin C supplements for some days and change your toothpaste brand and avoid using mouthwashes if your swollen gums are caused by sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash.Also have good oral hygiene.
If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dentist and get gingivitis ruled out.

I'm male, 20 years of age, normally healthy, however:
Ever since I got the flu last December I never seem to have recovered. For the past 6 months I have had these symptoms:
- Low Grade Fever (up to 37.5 degrees Celsius) with sore throat, minimal coughing that returns Every Month. I've had about six fevers now for the past half year.
- Chronic sore throat.
- Easily sweats: after a nap, a walk, etc.
It seems like my fevers won't go high, nor will it go away.
so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.
Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I had oral sex again with the asymptomatic guy again on 4/11. I was informed by the guy who developed gonorrhea of all this today, 4/14, and have not had sex with him since before his symptoms began.
Turned out the antibiotic had wiped out all of the bacteria and caused him to develop C DIF he was treated with IV's to get his system back to a somewhat normal he nearly died (really) because it went on for so long. Dr. later admitted that he missed it and should have done a simple blood test to check for C DIF I took him to two different hospitals and found a gastro doc that immediately identified the problem.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

My question is it is a month already and the redness still did not go away completely and my muscles still ache and my temperature is still at 37.2 to 37.3 C. Could this be a sign of HIV? or any kind of STD at all? all i noticed about this girl is that she had some sort of rashes, kinda like scabies on both shoulders. Can you help me diagnose what this could be?

On 15 of January I'm going to begin the second treatment with Interferon, Rib.and Boceprevir. (the first time I was on placebo) It will be good if I could begin the treatment with a lower viral load. If the virus is still detectable,after 4 months of treatment, I will be taken off the treatment.
This is really a question for your doctor, as they should be the only one making medication recommendations for you, but as far as vitamin C and pregnancy, it should be safe, I'd check with your doctor especially if you are on any other meds that could be effected by the excess vitamin C before you start any.
My questions are 1) Are the rapid tests dependable at 5 weeks and 11 weeks post exposure as compared to standard Elisa tests? 2) Can augmentin and vitamin b12 injections give false negatives?

Four days is not a long time to be on an antibiotic. Take grapefruit juice with the antibiotic. It will improve the efficiency. And take a vitamin D3 supplement as well as a good multivitamin. A vitamin C supplement would probably help as well.
Your symptoms could be alergies, but they appear to be related to a plain old nasty bacterial infection.
Drink lots of fluids (electrolytes) and try to go out with youe kids and get as much sunlight as you can every day.
It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife.
The problem here isn't just STD; you apparently are reacting emotionally to the sexual event, perhaps conflicted about your own sexual orientation or preferences. But this isn't a counseling service, so that will be all for this thread.
