Avatar n tn Amino acids, from which protein is made, are an integral element since amino acids and essential fatty acids are both needed to work in the body. Therefore, adding quality protein is a key in Attention Deficit Disorder nutrition. Attention Deficit and hyperactive people can greatly reduce the level of unfocused or misdirected energy simply by starting the day with a protein based breakfast.

Earlier this month, at the American Psychiatric Association's 2013 Annual Meeting, he presented the results of a small pilot trial that showed good results with TNS as stand-alone therapy in treatment-naïve patients aged 7 to 14 years with ADHD.

It is mainly used to combat the sympathetic nervous system response to opiate withdrawal, namely tachycardia and hypertension, in the first couple days of withdrawals.
Avatar n tn Both drugs worked very well, but after a year or two they each stopped working so well (this is a known thing that sometimes happens with Provigil--it stops being so effective). I switched to Strattera (an attention-deficit disorder drug, even though I don't have ADD, or at least not a diagnosed case) and it has been FANTASTIC. I got my head back! I can think and concentrate perfectly normally again.
Avatar f tn In children and teens, depression often occurs along with behavior problems and other mental health conditions, such as anxiety or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
127124 tn?1326739035 We have a joke between us, that other people have Attention Surplus Disorder - in that they are happy muddling through the most BORING LONG tasks that we just refuse to do. ;D This will make your daughter struggle through school, because of the structure and inflexibility. When she's older and can choose how to live her life, she can pick things that match her abilities and not be forced to sit in one place completing long boring useless tasks.
Avatar n tn Its interesting to find here postings about sleep disorders, fatigue and skin conditions. My son has had relief from night-terrors and attention deficit disorder-like symptoms with these oils. The brain is 60% structural fat -and these fats are vital for good brain function. They are also reputed to help skin conditions that reacted to no other medicines. These oils are found in abysmally small amounts in the modern western diet.
754648 tn?1233714967 definite hand-eye coordination problems. Now last year, we finally had him tested and he has an attention deficit disorder. So all in all, nothing to worry about, but it never a bad idea to be informed, so you can hope for the best or plan for the worst... ;) Good Luck!

Avatar f tn I was seeing a neurologist for continued headaches and neck tension/spasms, but around when I returned to work full-time, and to light land-based exercise like elliptical trainer, some symptoms started to return (headache, right-sided weakness, equilibrium problems) and some new ones have cropped up (tinnitus, exteme fatigue and sleeping problems, systematic right-sided neurologic deficit - motor, sensory, reflexes, strength - everything.
Avatar n tn hey bell, i don't know if i even buy into bi polar, seems to be the latest fad, it used to be manic -depressiv then it was that one where you cant consintrate attention defict disorder that was big in the ninties. one thing about A D D nobody has in jail, cause everybody is at full attention or else ya get your ass kicked. my sister was tagged with bi polar, she is a real jerk one day and tries to act normal the next, i think she is just a cruel sel centerted person who needs to grow up.
Avatar f tn It's like having someone shouting at you, or trying to talk with a fire alarm going off in the room. The effect of pain on the mind can seem like attention deficit disorder. So you may have to repeat a request, or write things down for a person with chronic pain. Don't take it personally, or think that they are stupid. 4. The senses can overload while in pain. For example, noises that wouldn't normally bother you, seem too much. 5. Patience may seem short.

589816 tn?1332980371 Now my jaw is starting to get sore on top of not wanting to eat. I had to put a patch on my right eye today because it's so blurry it was getting on my nerves. It's off now though. Had another CT too...waiting for the results. I hate hospitals on the weekends! I was hitting almost tears in the pain scale last night and this morning so they wanted to get a scan. I'm kind of glad I wasn't home because I might have thought I was dying.
551343 tn?1506834118 This is because of my dad's history and the plus syndrome is like an ms syndrome. Trouble is I know leber's is a mitochondrial disorder so it has be passed down from your mother not your father. My swallowing problems have worsened over the past couple of years. It also takes me so long to eat plus with loss of appetite I really am fighting to keep calories up. My speech can also be affected but it's all due to spasticity. So a couple of days ago I developed what we think is an anal abscess.
Avatar n tn Do you correlate with the initiation of these episodes with any particular event? You might be having a rhythmic movement disorder, which more or less resembles the symptoms or even age related. Has your doctor done a sleep study? You need to continue the medication for couple of weeks as advised by your doctor and try to avoid trigger factors like alcohol, smoking and stress. It is better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated. Take care and updated on your thoughts and progress.

Avatar m tn My husband says I pay too much attention to my spot and that if I'd just forget it, it would go away. Do you ever get headaches at night from all the squinting and looking at (searching for) your spots? The whole things makes me so depressed sometimes.
Avatar n tn FYI, I also ordered the posture book you recommended and am going to immediately start paying attention to my mid-back posture etc. This is likely a heal-thyself issue due to weakness in the back. Good luck, y'all!
Avatar n tn I am a 34 year-old active, white female, average height, very healthy weight. I had an interior carotid dissection over a week ago, they think from a sports trauma (though I didn't do anything where I knowingly hurt myself). Luckily, I have 100% collateral blood flow, no brain damage, no shifting, etc...best possible outcome. Interestingly, in addition, I have tested positive for antiphospholipid antibodies (after testing false-positive for syphilis---common, who knew).
