Avatar n tn While most doctors seemed dismissive of this, they could not provide me a lot of additional information to why. As such I became pretty stressed out and turned to a lot of these message boards and poured over different cryptic medical studies such as www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9071490 that did NOT make me feel any better.
709671 tn?1252929332 it seems i am suffering from severe depression, mild to severe bipolar disorder, ocd and trichotillomania, adult attention deficit disorder....i did online screening tests on a site called psych central! and i have taken a few other online tests for depression! all are positive! do i see a psychiatrist or a psychologist? what's the difference between these two?
Avatar n tn I have researched anxiety disorders, dyslexia, oppositional defiant disorder, autism and so on. Nothing seems to fit just right. So here is what we are currently facing... At home my son has improved tremendously. His hyperactivity has died down and he seems more like a typical 5 year old boy. He generally listens on the first try or at least by the second. If he is tired...it could take five times or more. He is sweet...caring...affectionate...thoughtful...very attentive...
Avatar f tn One possible side effect is that they might waste unusual amounts of time on message boards like these ;) None of life rules are written in stone (so far as I can tell). Sometimes you just need to make up new rules as you go!
Avatar m tn It's like having someone shouting at you, or trying to talk with a fire alarm going off in the room. The effect of pain on the mind can seem like attention deficit disorder. So you may have to repeat a request, or write things down for a person with chronic pain. Don't take it personally, or think that they are stupid. 4. The senses can overload while in pain. For example, noises that wouldn't normally bother you, seem too much. 5. Patience may seem short.
Avatar f tn I sort of liked Huckabee (although I am a liberal) but these religious zealots, especially those that want creationism taught in schools and those that change their minds as the winds blow will certainly not think that the druggie diseases are worth fighting for. Probably want us to crawl in a hole and die. Who was it that NEVER mentioned HIV back in the 80's during his presidency? I agree with Goof. Nothing will be done. And to be fair remember Hillary's health plan?
551343 tn?1506834118 This is because of my dad's history and the plus syndrome is like an ms syndrome. Trouble is I know leber's is a mitochondrial disorder so it has be passed down from your mother not your father. My swallowing problems have worsened over the past couple of years. It also takes me so long to eat plus with loss of appetite I really am fighting to keep calories up. My speech can also be affected but it's all due to spasticity. So a couple of days ago I developed what we think is an anal abscess.
Avatar f tn In looking for whats the cause, I've seen a lot of things, but I don't think I have a sleep disorder, because I sleep great. I've never taken drugs, prescription or non. One message board mentioned that its merely a nutritional deficiency thing, so I'm going to try some multi vitamins. That doesn't seem like it could be it, but i'll try about anything. And if that doesn't work, I'm going to have my head examined.
Avatar n tn my theory is that sleep deficit haunts us until we finally catch up with all the deficit and until then, you may be prone to excessive dreaming. the best.
Avatar n tn Probably, I have some type of seronegative arthritis such as a.s. I also have an ai blood disorder. I'm glad I'm SVR and I'll do what I need to do to treat these autoimmune issues as well. In my view, the ai problems are still better than the alternative.
Avatar m tn My husband says I pay too much attention to my spot and that if I'd just forget it, it would go away. Do you ever get headaches at night from all the squinting and looking at (searching for) your spots? The whole things makes me so depressed sometimes.
Avatar n tn Do you correlate with the initiation of these episodes with any particular event? You might be having a rhythmic movement disorder, which more or less resembles the symptoms or even age related. Has your doctor done a sleep study? You need to continue the medication for couple of weeks as advised by your doctor and try to avoid trigger factors like alcohol, smoking and stress. It is better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated. Take care and updated on your thoughts and progress.
Avatar n tn I am a 34 year-old active, white female, average height, very healthy weight. I had an interior carotid dissection over a week ago, they think from a sports trauma (though I didn't do anything where I knowingly hurt myself). Luckily, I have 100% collateral blood flow, no brain damage, no shifting, etc...best possible outcome. Interestingly, in addition, I have tested positive for antiphospholipid antibodies (after testing false-positive for syphilis---common, who knew).
Avatar n tn - Next up, I'm waiting to hear back from a sleep study that I had a few weeks ago. Also will seek out a message therapist for myofascial release which I've been told might give me one good night. I might seek out sleeping medication to try and just sleep through the pain. Hopefully someone out there can put a name to this so I can start teh path to treatment... I'm so tired.
Avatar n tn Oh my Lord! Thank you for this message board!!! I have been seeing an ENT for a few months now for "something lumpish" that is lodged/blocking the right side of my throat somewhere in the middle. Sometimes when I yawn it feels like a piece of tissue/muscle is getting twisted into a not and gets "stuck" in the middle of the yawn, causing me to gag for a few seconds. It can be painful but it doesn't last long.
Avatar n tn Maybe if your doc gets something in the mail from them they might pay a little more attention to this matter and get to the bottom of this for us.
Avatar m tn i recently moved into a sober house and the bed i am in has a bed bug infestation, i am allergic to these little ******* and they bit the **** out of me, bites all over me, after burning out the room for a 2nd time with some big *** heater, they died for a little bit, but of enduring that **** for almost 2 weeks it gave me post tramatic stress disorder, i havent found any bed bugs for 5 days straight.
Avatar n tn Its me again, I haven't watched porn or masturbated in the last seven days, since I last posted this message! Last night got pretty crazy when I started to get the urge, it was sheer torture! Didn't know how crazy this would get... but it gets pretty nasty when you start getting horny and you gotta do everything you can to control yourself, to not touch yourself :( F***!! But I tried really hard and stopped myself... No, I didn't post this so someone could give me a cookie or a golden star!
162948 tn?1205256292 I recently had my IUD removed, and started to get discouraged after several negative tests. I did a little bit of research, since my doctor never told me what to expect afterwards. It is normal to bleed heavy clumps after it is removed. The IUD works a couple different ways. It does reduce your uterine lining, blocking fertilized eggs from implanting on the uterus, or by creating a mild inflammation which prevents sperm from fertilizing eggs.
