199177 tn?1490502134 I decide to water my lawn. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide my car needs washing. As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
2212714 tn?1342262344 The Twelve Steps--A Guide for Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder There is so much on the Internet that I don't know where to start. I would say, you start your own research and then post more questions here. I will get emails when you do, will answer and hopefully others will also join this discussion. For treatment, he should start with checking into what counseling services are available at his college. I was helped a great deal by therapists and therapy groups at my college.
961762 tn?1265233311 I agree with jen, this is likely an "attentional" problem related to the cognitive probems that are famous in MS. In the case of staring aimlessly it would be the problem of keeping your mind on whatever task you are doing. In kids with Attention-Deficit, they have "daydreaming". When you ask them what they were "thinking" about they will honestly say "nothing.
Avatar f tn They make excellent (and willing) minions and are cheap to bribe! Oh, and last of all...Be alert for IIADD (Interferon-induced attention deficit disorder). You'll notice it when you have an onset of "destinasia" (you go into another room and forget why) or you are busy all day, but can't for the life of you remember what you did...At one point, I actually forgot I was driving while on the freeway! (Not good! -I stopped driving more than a few miles after that until txing was done.
Avatar f tn Clinical (medical) depression and anxiety can sometimes be expressed in this way. Also, attention deficit disorder (ADD) may sometimes be the cause of concentration and memory difficulties. Many people think of this as a childhood disorder but it can start in childhood and not be diagnosed until adulthood. Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I wish the best of luck to your and your physicians in figuring out the cause of your symptoms.
269143 tn?1310798952 here is something funny you know add.........i also have adddtp(attention deficit disorder due to pot),,,,made that up last year......
Avatar f tn Many of us have experienced IIADD (Interferon Induced Attention Deficit disorder -and yes, the is a real medical term) in varying degrees while enduring treatment. It is my personal belief that the hemolytic anemia (when the drugs began to rip your red blood cells apart faster than you can make them) is the biggest culprit as the fewer the red blood cells you have to carry oxygen, the more difficult your thinking process become. You will have "signs" of onset...
Avatar n tn What Causes Restless Legs Syndrome? The exact cause of restless legs syndrome is not known. The idiopathic or primary form of the disease seems to occur sporadically for unknown reasons. A family history of RLS is reported in many of these patients, suggesting a genetic component to the disease. Documented cases of parent-to-child transmission suggest that, in some familial cases, RLS may be inherited. In 2001, a French-Canadian group reported on a study of 25 family members, 14 of whom had RLS.
Avatar m tn *** He tries to be nice to me but when he gets angry he blames everything on me that i have done it , but now i understand him more on why he's been acting like that. He has ADHD ( attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) , learning difficulties, behavioural difficulties, poor social skills, poor motor skills and he has Dyspraxia and other things that i can give you on request.
Avatar n tn Went to a counselor/psychologist who said I had attention deficit disorder and obsessive compulsive syndrome, but I dont know if I can blame that for everything, or if it is a true diagnosis. Went to a chiropractor for back & neck pain, he told me I must have fibromyalgia. GOOD GRIEF it keeps getting worse!! I went to my regular doc who finally ran the hep c test. I do think a bunch of my symptoms were Hep C caused.
Avatar m tn You most likely have a semi-permanent disorder called Vestibular Neuritis. It is a disorder that affects the nerve of the inner ear called the vestibulocochlear nerve. This nerve sends balance and head position information from the inner ear to the brain. If you notice that your symptoms worsen after a common cold or the flu, it's most likely due to the varicella virus (related to the chickenpox you had as a child) lying dormant deep in your your inner ear.
Avatar n tn I have researched anxiety disorders, dyslexia, oppositional defiant disorder, autism and so on. Nothing seems to fit just right. So here is what we are currently facing... At home my son has improved tremendously. His hyperactivity has died down and he seems more like a typical 5 year old boy. He generally listens on the first try or at least by the second. If he is tired...it could take five times or more. He is sweet...caring...affectionate...thoughtful...very attentive...
Avatar n tn Yes, by all means have her evaluated for both Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Learning Disability. The symptoms you describe could be explainable by ADHD alone, but it is unlikely. Sometimes a learning disability goes undiagnosed until the curriculum becomes a bit more complicated, as it does in the fourth grade.
1260255 tn?1288658164 I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that this has been a hard week for a lot of people on this forum. It's said that laughter is the best medicine and scientific studies have proven this (don't anyone challenge me to cite the studies!). An old post was resurrected this week "This Made My Day" and it was very, very funny to me and a lot of other people, so I'm hoping we can share some good medicine in the form of our favorite jokes with one another.
Avatar n tn What is ADHD or ADD other than people who can't pay attention? What does it take to pay attention? PRACTICING PAYING ATTENTION! Just like any other thing you want to get better at, it takes practice. In this technological age where commercials give stories in 1 minute and everyone's in a hurry to go finish another pointless task, I think we need to take a step back....
1301089 tn?1290670171 LOL ...you have a wonderful sense of humor...we shall see .... November is not too far away I wonder how all those people I just saw on that beautiful Rally will vote ........
Avatar n tn Enjoy your posts and your sense of humor there spookster. I'm hijacking this thread to ask what is the difference between being addicted to an opiate vs being physically dependant on them as it relates to the ability to get OFF? I read here the terrible problems staying off once you get off and I wonder if that's easier for people who're dependant as opposed to addicted? Oh, btw, your posts would be a bunch easier to read if you'd put a space after every comma.
Avatar n tn Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I'm blessed to have tons of energy even on tx. I am so hyper it drives people crazy. Also I have some mexican blood from my father's side so I think my quick temper can outdo any red-head's! I was up last night till about 1:30. Got up at 5:30 with my grandbaby, went back to sleep at 7:00 up at 9:00 and now off to work all day at 2 jobs. And I feel pretty crappy too, just no problem in the energy dept. till about 7:00 tonight!
Avatar f tn I sort of liked Huckabee (although I am a liberal) but these religious zealots, especially those that want creationism taught in schools and those that change their minds as the winds blow will certainly not think that the druggie diseases are worth fighting for. Probably want us to crawl in a hole and die. Who was it that NEVER mentioned HIV back in the 80's during his presidency? I agree with Goof. Nothing will be done. And to be fair remember Hillary's health plan?
Avatar n tn a beer gut. uh?? Glad you find humor and I am happy you posted. If more men ..............here it comes fella's: "Step out of the closet with their thyroid issues" and deal with it in it's entirely getting your dad and brother checked out. Maybe the men population would get these doctors to look at the thyroid issues more. 20 years ago, it was "the big one" that killed men. (Even though women died from it more then a male did!
Avatar f tn I'm glad you know about it. I wish you all the best and I hope you find a solution!
551343 tn?1506834118 This is because of my dad's history and the plus syndrome is like an ms syndrome. Trouble is I know leber's is a mitochondrial disorder so it has be passed down from your mother not your father. My swallowing problems have worsened over the past couple of years. It also takes me so long to eat plus with loss of appetite I really am fighting to keep calories up. My speech can also be affected but it's all due to spasticity. So a couple of days ago I developed what we think is an anal abscess.
Avatar n tn my theory is that sleep deficit haunts us until we finally catch up with all the deficit and until then, you may be prone to excessive dreaming. the best.
Avatar n tn Probably, I have some type of seronegative arthritis such as a.s. I also have an ai blood disorder. I'm glad I'm SVR and I'll do what I need to do to treat these autoimmune issues as well. In my view, the ai problems are still better than the alternative.
