Avatar n tn I have used the attacking anxiety and depression program by Lucinda Bassett...dfrom the Midwest Center..I cannot stress how much this program helped me..knowing now what I did not know then...I wish I had purchased the program when I first saw the infomercial. I purchased the program in 2002..I was going through nursing school..had I not taken the program..I believe o would have quit nursing due to my anxiety and low self esteem and WHAT IF THINKING..I have been anxiety free since 2002..
Avatar n tn Ive been anxious (never had anxiety before) and depressed and super emotional and inpatient about everything. I still haven't decided what to do. It's only been one month and physically I feel better as far as not bleeding for months at a time and not holding water. I also feel like I have a normal amount of energy and the headaches that initially were there have subsided. I am horrified if I keep taking this pill though that i will lose my emotional calm and optimism.
909086 tn?1242664364 You can look through the doctors listed in the Houston area and read the patients' reviews and see if there are doctors that seem to treat patients clinically, for symptoms. Also, if they are willing to prescribe T3 meds like Armour, that is usually a good sign. http://www.thyroid-info.com/topdrs/texas.
Avatar m tn I think a lot of it may be that you are anticipating sleep disruption and so the anxiety makes it happen. I used to not sleep very well at all, and now I sleep eight hours solid without waking up. One of the first signs you may experience is that your mood will lighten and your sense of humor may be fully restored. That is what I noticed, and it was remarkable to me because I had not noticed how edgy I had become until it went away. Remember, your anger and emotions are liver-based.
Avatar n tn Hi all. New to this. I am a 44 year old woman who is physically fit (gym 5 days a week) and eats pretty well. Approx 5 weeks ago I developed veins showing on both hands. They have not gone away and infact they are bulging most times, and I can "feel them". They have increased and I can see some starting to climb up my forearm now. Before this, my veins barely ever showed.
Avatar n tn I just know that I am feeling anxiety about the up and coming test day, but I can honestly say that today I have just broke down and cried, wondering why it has to be so hard??? I just needed to vent a little and hope that I did not discourage you in the process. Hope this note finds you in good spirits and I will chat with you soon!!!!
Avatar n tn I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
97676 tn?1340408973 Everyone suffers from anxiety and depression at some time, however when it remains a controlling factor in your life and starts to interfere with how you live your life or even prevent you from activities then its time to get help. This is a fifteen week program that helps you attain skills to stop your panic attacks or other symptoms you may have.
Avatar n tn I had the sweating, shaking, anxiety, etc.that you sometimes have. Graves and Hashimoto's are sort of different names for the same thing. Graves means you're hyper and Hashimoto's means you're hypo but they are both your immune system attacking your thyroid gland. My current diagnosis is Hashimoto's, and happily my thyroid seems to have given up the fight for the most part. You actually could go into "remission" (i.e.
Avatar n tn I've had it for the last 3 mornings in a row (and in the past occasionally also) - The psychologist basically said that is my so-called 'release' per-se as all of my worries and anxiety and stuck inside of me and therefore that's why it went to my stomach and was my 'release' for it due to all the feelings inside. I can totally understand now as to how the things that have happened in my life have now made me come to this.
Avatar m tn aldosterone, cortisol and DHEA, and of course a metabolic panel and electrolytes. My son never had an anxiety problem, until his adrenals crashed. He was symptomatic long before it showed up on a blood test, which is how it is with so many illnesses. Before he got sick, he had so much energy and was so outgoing, he was ready to take on the world. If his doctor had listened to me from the first, he would have gotten the help he needed much sooner.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
190559 tn?1280615967 My sister lived 10 years with a diagnosis of bi-polar disorder, constantly battling periods of anxiety and depression, and side effects of bi-polar medications before she went into a hyperthyroid crisis and was finally properly diagnosed with Grave's. They were not able to control her condition with thyroid medication and the radio active iodine did not work, so she eventually opted to have her thyroid removed.
443434 tn?1255894833 For some reason the doctor put me on 1000mg a day even though I'm only 5'2 and weigh 110. It caused hellish insomnia, anxiety, pain in my throat, inability to speak correctly, blurred vision, my left eye became dry upon one of the very last doses, chest pain, a thousand other things I'm not going to bother listing off because thankfully they are gone now.
Avatar n tn Along with that, i have been getting numbness all over to where I have to sleep on my back to avoid putting pressure on my sides, I am terrified that this might become worse, because just like some of you, i have been checked for almost everything and they all come back negative. I was told by a doctor that it may be related to anxiety and stress but I don't know. Can stress and anxiety affect your bones?
Avatar f tn But recently it hasn't been on my back at all.. its now my arms and my legs, occasionally my chest and tummy. Extremely itchy, very warm and alot of welts. Its driving me nuts!! People say "it will take its course", well i can say for myself and i bet alot of others, its not that easy.. it is EXTREMELY uncomfortable.. extremely! I have read about Quercetin, a natural antihistamine. Has anyone tried this at all and has helped relieve there hives?
Avatar n tn I have not had advanced testing done in terms of CT scans and such because I have had enough anxiety about this. I guess eventually, I might if this non-sense continues. It's semi-comforting to know that other people have experienced this because most people think I am just being an old biddy about my issues and complaints. Haha.
Avatar n tn I have been on Ultram (4 back pain), Zoloft (anxiety), Resperal and Resderal (sedative and anti-thinking, anxiety), Tylenol w/codeine (back pain), hydrocodine/Vicodin (back pain, crohn's), Xanax (anxiety), skelaxin (back pain), prozac (depression), 6mp(crohn's), over the counter sleep aids, herbal homeopathic remedies, you name it....and I wanted to let you know how they affected me...
2099906 tn?1335142868 And usually there are other symptoms that often get dismissed as stress, like loss of appetite, GI tract issues, light sensitivity, tinnitus, twitching, poor sleep, depression, anxiety, et.al. Unfortunately, most docs who are MS aware probably aren't Lyme aware and don't know the difference. I personally think that every patient where MS comes up as a possibility should also have a workup for Lyme. This must be a scary time for you! I hope you get resolution soon.
Avatar m tn I know what it is, but it still cares the hell of me and the anxiety makes it worse. I ate broccoli and cheese casserole for dinner last night and woke up this morning with pain in jaws. I hav Reflux also, and usually can drink a soda and be able to burp. I am a pain patient also, and notice that when I am put on Lortabs, the first one or two always triggers this problem. Sometimes llaying on your back on the floor and rolling from side to side with move the gas and allow you to pass it.
523927 tn?1257022304 and now, even though I'm over the EBV (thankfully), I've still had to deal with the panic attacks and general anxiety. But that's something you can defeat as well! If you ever have any questions, feel free to check out the Anxiety forum, as there's a wealth of information there on that topic. Above all, I hope you get well soon!
Avatar f tn They feel like they are buzzing and especially my right shin gets a different sensation than my left. It's like i feel a numbness coming and going. This tightening really hurts. My ankles and knees especially get a piercing pain. I have to rest them a lot to ease the discomfort, but any length of time standing, walking, kneeling. Just kills them. My legs are so uncomfortable. Is this a symptom one would experience in MS? My legs are getting worse since all this began. Pain, odd sensations.
Avatar n tn I ended up not going to Africa because I got mono, but I was on the pill for almost 4 weeks when I started to notice side effects- constant depression and anxiety and strange cramps daily. I got off it because I felt uncomfortable, and now I realize that I too had sore breasts and weight gain (about 3 pounds). I don't need birth control, so I got off the pill altogether about 3 weeks ago, but now I feel like my body is totally out of whack.
Avatar n tn Anyone know what happened to surfandsound --the woman that initially posted and was pregnant? Most of the time I am anxiety free and without symptoms but they do crop up and I am just trying to trust my body and the fact that all of us have had weird neurological stuff but NO GBS. Very reassuring.
Avatar m tn Anyway, it sounds like you're doing this from the strongest motivation possible - Love - and that will trump the fear/anxiety/discomfort if you focus on it. You're going through the worst of it now. So hold fast, my friend. If you love music put your headphones on to get the old endorphins firing & to distract yourself - Laughing also works.. Treat yourself well & keep your eye on the prize..You & your children deserve It!
Avatar m tn SO WITH THE INFESTATION KNOWN HISTORICALLY IN THE WALLS HERE, PLUS THE MOUSE MITE PARASITES ATTACKING ME RELENTLESSLY AS WELL, I'M IN BAD SHAPE.. HOPE YOU, ME , AND OTHERS HERE ALL GET BETTER.....I'M EMAILING SOME OF THE INFO TO MY DOCTOR, SO SHE CAN PRESCRIBE SOMETHING POSSIBLY TOO. THANKS ALL AND NOOOOOOOOOOO, YOU ARE NOT CRAZY.......PEOPLE WHO SUGGEST THAT, ARE JUST JERKS COPPING OUT ON THE ISSUE AND REALITY, I THINK SOMETIMES,,,,CUZ THEY ARE IGNORANT, AND NOT KNOWLEDGED.
Avatar n tn Then, this irregular beating in my chest scares me and causes anxiety, then the viscous cycle repeats. The anxiety causes more chest pain, more gas, and more discomfort. I have been trying everything to treat myself. Changed my diet (was drinking lots of soda and taking NSAID pain relievers every day) for the most part, but due to my work schedule I do eat too much fast food to this day. I drink nothing but water now, I have been watching everything I do.
Avatar f tn We keep her comfortabel with sub-q infusions daily, Calcitriol, Aluminum hydroxide and novox. One day she seems bad and then the next day she is up and climbing a full flight of stairs and getting on the sofa by herself! Other days she can barely stand. She sleep most of the time but today she has been shivering almost uncontrollably. I finally wrapped her in a warm blanket and held her for a while and she stopped shivering...she is asleep now. This is GUT WRENCHING.
Avatar n tn I did some internet research and came across forums of women who were having the same issues as me ! Some were more severe and they needed depression medications (which btw werent working). I decided that I needed to get this removed ASAP. I called the dr and 2 days later it was removed on 2/8/07. Removal was not painful at all. When the dr questioned me on why I wanted the device removed I told him the story. Do you know what he said to me ? That these are not side effects of the Mirena.
