Atrovent nut allergy

Common Questions and Answers about Atrovent nut allergy

serevent

Avatar f tn He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids. He directed me to take both atrovent and ventolin 2 times a day for a month but I don't really have a long term treatment plan. The doctor seemed a bit stumped as to what else to do. I am suffering from some symptoms almost all the time and regularly have fairly bad attacts. I am very glad to have the ventolin but I'm hoping to find long term treatment for the underlying problem.
Avatar m tn nose becomes stuffed and runny when pressure applied while defecating. Feels like a cold or allergy reaction everytime I go to toilet.
Avatar f tn I have had seasonal allergies along with dust, cat and dog allergies too since 30 years ago. I finally had 5 years of allegy shot ending aroung 2005, This year has been so bad with all the pollen I feel like I'm right back to day one. My eyes are itchy, my nose runs and my palate is so itchy. I take Atrovent for post nasal drip, aerius for the allergies and I'm also on Advair 250 discuss. Why is this happening after all these years? Will it go away or am I supposed to get shots again.
Avatar m tn What does your family doctor say? Don't self diagnose. Your sneezing could be an allergic reaction to something. Some people are allergic to dust. Your doctor may suggest an allergy test to determine if you have an allergy. It's not adviseable to just " try allergy pills". Some of these over the counter allergy pills and antihistamines are not good for your liver. Find out what is causing the sneezing. A allergy test can be quite helpful.

Avatar f tn I currently take Xyzal and Nasacort for allergies and medication for asthma (Singulair and Symbicort). I'm also taking allergy shots for cat dander and grass pollens. When I go running by wooded areas I get a horrible runny nose. My runny nose goes away about 10-15 minutes after I get inside from my run. I'm wondering if it could be from allergies or if it could be from something else. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I was officially diagnosed with the allergy to said nut after allergy testing when I was in my early teens. I subsequently had a few more allergic reactions throughout the next 20+ years, all similar, some also with breathing difficulties, always only with ingestion of coconut or with it touching my tongue/mouth/face. I am not allergic to any other nuts or seeds.
1021174 tn?1251635887 Hi and WELCOME!! What the Dr's usually recommend (especially with nut & insect allergy) is to carry Two Epi Pens with you. Most of the Epi Pen holder kits have an area for two pens along with an inhaler since many are asthmatic, too.
Avatar f tn My son has a nut allergy. Does this include the walnut and chestnut trees in our yard? I didnt even think about them while we were at the allergy office.
Avatar f tn The truth is, no one can say for sure. Peanut allergies are also on the rise in the little ones. Some kids do outgrow certain allergies, but this really does vary from individual to individual. For now, keep peanut products away from him and read labels and watch for warnings. There are labels warning of products that are not peanut products that say that they are made on the same equipment as where peanuts were processed. Be on the alert for this, depending on how severe his allergy is.

Avatar f tn The best and most affective inhalers are stimulants and will cause your heart to race. Anticholenergics like atrovent and Spireva have mild broncho dilating affects, but they are not nearly as good as albuterol or the long-acting beta2 agonists (long acting broncho dilaters). The best thing for you to do is to take controller meds on schedule as directed by your doctor limiting your need for the rescue inhaler. Feel better.
808904 tn?1307057809 The primary treatment is simply avoiding the things that trigger your symptoms. It is often treated with a drying nasal spray (like Atrovent) and antihistamines like chlopheneramine and lovatidine are effective. Nasal decongestant drops too relieve congestion. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Regards.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have allergies to egg and nuts, I go in to anaphylactic shock when i eat them. I developed my egg allergy at 14 and my nut allergy at about 27 years old. Neither of my allergies started as anaphylactic, both started with a slight itchy mouth and over months/years got worse. I think I'm now developing another allergy and so I'm going back to the allergy clinic to get re-tested.
Avatar n tn He is allergic to dust and tree pollens. He has been to the allergy doctor who has prescribed fluticasone and certrizine. He has seen a pediatrician who has said maybe a sinus infection and given antibiotics. He also had an x-ray at the allergy doctor's office. We are going to see the ENT in two days. I don't know if it's a tic? He says he can't breathe well. His left nostril seems more clogged than the right.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that he is allergic to the powder of the walnut? Could he be allergic to the powder and not the nut? Is it normal to show allergic reactions after having been expos.ed in the past without problems? He was recently treated for Fifth's Disease and thought this may have had something to do with the reaction, as well? Should I be concerned with giving walnuts as a food item? Lots of questions. I look forward to hearing from you. T. Levine tarri.
Avatar f tn In December of 2010, I got a bad cough. A couple of weeks later, I was in the emergency room with breathing problems, and I have been having breathing problems ever since. I have had asthma since I was very young, but it has been very well controlled for the past 12 years (no trips to the emergency room & only used a rescue inhaler a few times per year). My peak flow readings have been good (550+) throughout this entire process, even when I am feeling my worst.
Avatar f tn Peanuts is one of the more common allergy-causing foods. Peanuts are not actually a true nut they are a legume (the same family as peas and lentils), but the proteins in peanuts are similar in structure to those in tree nuts so people who are allergic to peanuts can also be allergic to tree nuts, such as almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, macadamias, pistachios, pecans, and cashews.
Avatar f tn It is often treated with a drying nasal spray (like Atrovent) and antihistamines like chlorpheniramine and loratadine are effective. Nasal decongestant drops too relieve congestion. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Regards.
Avatar n tn In a nut shell it sounds like hay fever. You may just need to take allergy medicine daily, but I'm not a doctor so you might want to talk to your doctor for more insight and what is the best treatment.
Avatar f tn I have a shellfish allergy and my son has a tree nut allergy and a couple years ago my poor son went into anaphylaxis and we had to stay in the hospital for a night. I feel like I have PTSD from this experience. Over time I’ve developed a shellfish allergy. I’ve increasingly become more anxious about food and feel like things that I always ate comfortably are making my throat itchy.
Avatar f tn Is this true? Is there a cure for nut allergies? I have had my allergy all my life apparently but i only discovered it 5 years ago. My life has always been more complicated and awkward ever since. So if there is a cure i want to get it. Has anyone ever got the cure? How does it work? Thank you!
