I have had seasonal allergies along with dust, cat and dog allergies too since 30 years ago. I finally had 5 years of allegy shot ending aroung 2005, This year has been so bad with all the pollen I feel like I'm right back to day one. My eyes are itchy, my nose runs and my palate is so itchy. I take Atrovent for post nasal drip, aerius for the allergies and I'm also on Advair 250 discuss. Why is this happening after all these years? Will it go away or am I supposed to get shots again.
He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids. He directed me to take both atrovent and ventolin 2 times a day for a month but I don't really have a long term treatment plan. The doctor seemed a bit stumped as to what else to do. I am suffering from some symptoms almost all the time and regularly have fairly bad attacts. I am very glad to have the ventolin but I'm hoping to find long term treatment for the underlying problem.
My son has suffered that for years. We finally went to a university hospital where they did all the typical GERD related test and as soon as they discovered he actually had GERD, it seemed like they concentrated on that as being the source of his cough, and stopped listening to what he was telling them, that the cough would start as soon as he ate food. It didn't have enough time to get to his stomach and then start to regurge.
My grandson, who is now 3 months, has been diagnosed with trachael malasia since birth. I would like to know about what age do the children grow out of it ? Also, is this a deadly condition ? He has moments where he struggles to breath. Is this somthing new ?
This is similar to what happened with my "Asthma". Started bad and was diagnosed and given advair - worked like a charm and was awesome. Then had a bad asthma spell because of my work (a pet store) moving and we had 25 years of dirt, fur and dust moving around the store as the shelvings were been moved plus a lot of cleaner fumes.

I have two girls (11 and 9). 11 year old has asthma. 9 year old is very healthy. 11 yr old started sighing appx. every 45 seconds. Alll types of asthma meds had no effect on her. No wheezing occuring, lung saturdation at 98% no other issues. Just the need to take that deep breath. No stress at home. Competitve gymnast in great physical shape. 4 weeks later, 9 year old started wtih same problem. Doctors can't figure it out. No asthma for her and 100% on the oxygen saturation.
do you microwave foods? Do you eat MSG or boxed/frozen foods? you might want to have your doctor check for spirochetes.....know about every chemical you put in your mouth!

Every night my lungs hurt when I breathe and I have mucus draining from my nostril area to my throat. My nostrils are also stuffy so it's hard for me to breathe. I can take nyquil and it helps but I would have to take it every night. On the nights I don't take it I have this problem. What can I do?
If he is taking albuterol for treatment of asthma, this could be the culprit. I used to take albuterol to treat my asthma symptoms but my Dr suggested a change to Atrovent.
I can understand your concerns about putting him through an ablation procedure. My daughter has had similar episodes when she was 8. We were sent to a pedi cardio who gave us an event monitor. Needless to say, the only thing the event monitor did was to send her into a panic state thinking the thing would zap her.

It can be described as flowery or honey like or cinnamon like.Its not bad at all.The smell is strong and lingers for a bit,and can be smelled from several feet away also.Its not genetic because no one else in her family has this.Some experts say that tonsils,sinusitis or diabetes could cause this but my mother does not suffer from any of these conditions.Just to let you know,my mother has a wet sneeze,with a lot of mist and spray emitted in it.Thanks.
Hi DrAnitha: I've tried everything! My nose is fine for a while and then I wake up at 3 in the morning with a stuff up nose. Could it be dust? Or is there something wrong with my machine? This is a fairly new machine. I got it the beginning of this year. I didn't have too many problems with the old machine except it kept shutting off.
