serevent

Avatar f tn I am taking atrovent for asthma and i was wondering if i should be spitting out phlem after i take a treatment or does it just break the phlem up and i spit it out whenever?
Avatar f tn He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids. He directed me to take both atrovent and ventolin 2 times a day for a month but I don't really have a long term treatment plan. The doctor seemed a bit stumped as to what else to do. I am suffering from some symptoms almost all the time and regularly have fairly bad attacts. I am very glad to have the ventolin but I'm hoping to find long term treatment for the underlying problem.
920032 tn?1550680156 lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
Avatar f tn This is similar to what happened with my "Asthma". Started bad and was diagnosed and given advair - worked like a charm and was awesome. Then had a bad asthma spell because of my work (a pet store) moving and we had 25 years of dirt, fur and dust moving around the store as the shelvings were been moved plus a lot of cleaner fumes.
Avatar n tn is it safe to use spiriva and advair together my sister has had laryngitis for 4 weeks
1315759 tn?1274044788 my asthma is not under control, at work it always bothers me. i am on the albuterol pump plus the breathing machine, which both does no good. what other inahlers can i use? or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened.
Avatar f tn My names Eve and Im 15. I got diagnosed with asthma around 4 months ago after suffering from a reoccurring cough, wheezing, heavy breathing and shortness of breath. spirometry confirmed that it was asthma I had and I got out on the brown preventer inhaler and the blue reliever.
1344892 tn?1276541735 i am 29 years old and have asthma for which i take 100 mg of qvar 2puffs twice daily. for the last 4 days my heart is beating very very fast, it will not slow down, it is waking me up from my sleep and is really getting me down. i went to a&e and had a chest x-ray, and it was fine. then i had an ecg and that came back fine apart from my high heart race. my blood pressure was high but then was taken again immediately after and was deemed o.k.
Avatar f tn I currently take Xyzal and Nasacort for allergies and medication for asthma (Singulair and Symbicort). I'm also taking allergy shots for cat dander and grass pollens. When I go running by wooded areas I get a horrible runny nose. My runny nose goes away about 10-15 minutes after I get inside from my run. I'm wondering if it could be from allergies or if it could be from something else. Thanks.
Avatar f tn the docter told me i cant take any meds with staroids in them but all of my asthma meds do. I run for my college and its hard for me to decide do i want to go blind or do i want not to be able to breath. does anyone know any meds i can take that doesnt have steroids in them?
Avatar f tn I have had seasonal allergies along with dust, cat and dog allergies too since 30 years ago. I finally had 5 years of allegy shot ending aroung 2005, This year has been so bad with all the pollen I feel like I'm right back to day one. My eyes are itchy, my nose runs and my palate is so itchy. I take Atrovent for post nasal drip, aerius for the allergies and I'm also on Advair 250 discuss. Why is this happening after all these years? Will it go away or am I supposed to get shots again.
1515545 tn?1291395764 Control your asthma naturally, with this pranayam. Initially do it for 30 minutes twice a day, and when the asthma is in control, reduce the timing to 20 minutes daily. You should feel the benefit in 3 months, but continue the pranayam for life. Your feedback at some point, will help others. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
7748835 tn?1393868668 Hello MadiBogden, I just finished reading your comments. You asked what you should do. Well, I would go back to the doctor that prescribed the Advair 250/20 and the Ventolin HFA. If you are not getting relief from these products, your doctor needs to know this. There are other asthma products on the market. You could also ask your doctor if duoneb is right for you. I have asthma myself. I didn't have asthma when I was little, I developed asthma as an adult.
Avatar n tn ve recently had an asthma attack due to spring pollen and other related environmental condition that increase during this season. I take a Combivent inhaler as a rescue treatment for my asthma. The problem at this point is that is a provides short relief and has choked me to the point of passing out. Could you please tell me what is causing this reaction. What would be a better method and inhaler. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn I am a 27 year old male. I have had chronic and severe post nasal drip issues for 4-5 years now without any major changes after treatment. I take Rx Allegra D-12 hour allergy meds, as well as Advair 250/50 for asthma which I have had since birth. I'm active in the gym, in good overall health and in the fit body weight category. On a daily basis I have severe drainage and the constant urge to clear the throat.
Avatar n tn I also have the cough and it does not subside for several days after exposure. The asthma specialist suggested doing the Provocholine Challenge test, but I felt as though this might be dangerous for me due to reactions to the medications utilized in the procedure and declined. Consequently, Dr. bumped up my Advair to 250/50 and then to 500/50, which I am currently taking along with Singulair, Claritin and Naxonex.
1135961 tn?1279145314 My asthma has been out of control for about four months. I have seen two doctors and im on a combination of meds. They are, Advair500, Atrovent, Alvesco, Prednizone, Singulair, and ventolin. All these meds dont seem to work.Ive been to the e.r three times in the last two months. And during my last visit I was put on bypass. Its seems like every day my chest is tight, and I wease a little. Sure there are some good days, but overall my asthma is still out of control.
1232362 tn?1333135406 Hi Spirit, sorry to hear about your troubles, so you've had asthma for 20 yrs? I would think that you should be experienced with it. First of all if you keep on having pneumonias, walking or otherwise, ask your doctor to give you a special shot for pneumonia which will prevent you from having another one. This pneumonia inaculation is good for yrs. In my opinion this would benefit your health. Prednisone should help make you stronger as it is a steroid.
Avatar n tn hey was wonder when you use the asmanex do you have any side affects from it , does it clear the tubs is that what its for ?
Avatar f tn I know I need the meds to control my asthma, but am I a ticking time bomb for a stroke or something with my pulse staying up for so long???
4222739 tn?1351285144 The constant coughing at night could sometimes be due to asthma. Have yourself evaluated for the same. This can be detected by a spirometry test. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
5195620 tn?1364978700 A 49 year old woman diagnosed with asthma for about 14 years, but no severe attack was observed until 2 years ago qua now she is suffering from it notably. it is at least for several months that pus forces out from her lungs after lots of coughs and recurrent episodes of wheezing still continues . 746512 tn?1388807580 I have a tight chest/throat, itchy lungs, lowered peak flow (70-80%) which atrovent/ventolin works on a bit for about an hour. Now my methacholine challenge was completely negative for asthma - however it was done in jan-march (I have to go find the exact day). I really don't understand this .... nothing has changed in reflux zone which is defintely an aggravator to the lungs. Thanks for any input you have ....
Avatar n tn You should also be evaluated for presence of concomitant asthma for which medical therapy improves the outcome. I suggest you to consult ENT specialist for reanalysis of your case. Take care and regards.
746512 tn?1388807580 Use rescue inhaler when you feel that is necessary and that is every time you feel that your asthma is not controlled well with controller medicines (advair) and you experience sudden shortness of breath, difficulty moving, coughing caused by asthma which does not stop for a few minutes, especially chest tighness and pain. Although peak flow measuring is important, everyone is different in that sense.
783328 tn?1236218525 I wonder what is causing my asthma I did not suffer from allergies before asthma but it seems that my asthma is very unpredicatable despite the fact that I am taking best medicines available on the market. Also, Is my asthma an autoimmune disease? What else I should try to do. What to ask a new pulmonology specialist which I am supposed to see at the beginning of April? Thank you in advance.
