Avatar m tn Hello, The data is quite supportive of taking a low dose daily aspirin if you are over the age of 40 year and have diabetes, in order to help prevent heart attack and stroke. The aspirin may not seem as though it is doing anything obvious, but it is likely doing great preventive things on your behalf. The Atorvastatin is something you should discuss further with your doctor.
Avatar m tn Any blockage is bad but when you have blockages everywhere! ?! Wow!

Avatar m tn Hello; I have got one coronary DES stent implanted since two month ago ("Endeavor RESOLUTE RX"). I am on clopidogrel, aspirin, atorvastatin, carvedilol, enalapril and pantoprazol. Fearing about scars growing inside the stent's mesh, I have read that some people recommend vitamin E for cosmetic appearance of scars; well, my question is: Could vitamin E be of some help for preventing "in-stent restenosis"? Is it worth trying? Thanks!

Avatar m tn I got prescribed Norco, lidocaine patches, and diclofenac 75 mg. Yesterday I took Norco and I put a lidocaine patch and I woke up with weird heart sensation, like slow heart rate or something. Could it be caused by lidocaine patch? I also take the following medication: Atorvastatin Calcium 80 Mg- 1 tab in the evening Carvedilol 6.
Avatar n tn Taking Lipitor, Niacin and baby Aspirin 81mg to control cholesterol! Recently took a blood test and noticed elevated Creatine PhosphoKinase at 268! I exercise, diet and take medications mentioned as part of an overall plan to control cholesterol and blood pressure! Is this elevated CPK of 268 something to be concerned about! What is considered a dangerouis level of CPK?
Avatar f tn My dad who is 81 years old in India is on Citilin 500mg daily. The neurologist prescribed it after he had TIA number of times. He used to get seizures like symptoms and loose his consciousness. He was bedridden and stopped walking completely. Now, he is up on his feet and doing his regular work after regular physiotherapy. At first, he had trigeminal neuralgia and he was on carbamezapine 150mg twice daily and then 300mg twice daily. I just need to know how long he has to be on Citilin.

Avatar m tn Never in my family history. Also thyroid gland not producing enough. Then i was asked about Atorvastatin and these issues especially typ 2 diabetes. Its all over the internet but my doctors don't seem to know much about the possible connection. What can i be told about this and further how does one investigate and gain knowledge to make a good decision. I am still taking it and don't know what to do. I am following drs orders at this time.
Avatar n tn Two recent trials have compared the clinical outcomes of intensive lipid lowering with atorvastatin 80 mg/day and standard lowering with pravastatin 40 mg/day. In the Pravastatin or Atorvastatin Evaluation and Infection Therapy (PROVE IT) trial, patients with acute coronary artery syndromes were enrolled, and pravastatin lowered the low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol to 2.46 mmol/l, whereas atorvastatin lowered it to 1.60 mmol/l.

Avatar n tn This med is generic for Lipitor, as you probably already know. I've researched and there is nothing about anger problems. The best thing to do is ask your Dr or pharmacist if this could be a possible interaction. When did you start the Zoloft? I'm asking because anger and personality chances could be a side effect of this med.
Avatar f tn My doctor has put me on medication . I'm taking progesterone capsules, HCG injections and aspirin delayed release tablets .What r they supposed to do and how does it help my baby? I had a chemical pregnancy in July and I'm now 6w3d pregnant.
Avatar n tn First, stay lean and fit as you have done so far. Then I would discuss with your MD on switching back to atorvastatin/lipitor and even increase the dose to 40mg daily. Lastly, while there is no data on aspirin use, you could consider taking a baby dose (81mg) of aspirin daily. I would recommend this (aspirin + high dose statin) if you were a patient of mine in clinic.
5789562 tn?1374459029 I am now taking 200mg of levothyroxine for hypothyroidism and 40mg of atorvastatin for cholesterol and fatty liver. I also take fish oil, multivitamin, D3, allegra, and baby aspirin. My medical provider is focusing on my thyroid before tackling everything else. I should also mention that my mother has non alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver, diabetes, dementia, diverticulitis, and myopathy. I'm considering taking coQ10.
Avatar n tn next five years passed and numerous visits too er,one angiogram heart normal and 4 eps studies, all too no avail,no ablation done and notoow my cardiologist tells me he thinks i also have af,puts me on aspirin and sotalol,am taking aspirins but not sotalo as i think risks of taking these too high too be done in the home background and not a clinical monitored situation,i am now beginning too wonder just how much my doctors do actually know about these conditions.
Avatar f tn Bowel movements occur 2-3 times a week, and they are difficult, presenting as pellet-like stools with abdominal rumbling. There is increased gas in the abdomen, with more flatulence, but no symptoms of diarrhea. Gastrointestinal examinations, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, revealed mild superficial gastritis, duodenitis, and tubulovillous adenomatous colon polyps (removed during the colonoscopy). CT scans showed interposition of the colon and gallstones.
3530672 tn?1370038043 I have had 2 mc this year and am preg for third time. The dr has me taking a baby aspirin due to a clotting factor. Does anyone else have to or had to take a baby aspirin during pregnancy and did it help to keep the baby? I am 5 weejs 2 days.
Avatar n tn It is easy to find information regarding drug-drug interactions for omeprazole (Prilosec) and atorvastatin (Lipitor). The omeprazole appears to increase the bioavailability of the statin, increasing the risk of side effects. Does this mean that the interaction is like taking a higher dose of the statin, which would provide benefit for someone like me who only takes a low dose (10mg atorvastatin daily) and has no statin tolerance issues?
Avatar n tn However, two days ago I developed a blood clot in one of my legs. It seemed superficial and I took some aspirin and I seemed to do a lot better. I skipped a day with the supplement but after I took two today I started to feel as if I would get another and sat down and took some more aspirin. On one hand, I seriously suspect that the supplement is the cause of the blood clots but on the other, I have never felt so good. What do you think I should do?
Avatar n tn This is being mediacally managed with clopidogrel 75g+aspirin 75g+atorvastatin 10g. I have been advised to periodically get my blockage checked. My question is whether for such check-up stress echocardiography (either dobutamine or exercise) would be more accurate and more informative than echo colour doppler screening followed by the usual TMT.
976897 tn?1379167602 I started rehab last week and after spending 30mins pedalling like crazy on an exercise bike, I only seem to be able to achieve a heart rate of 82. I was on beta blockers and stopped them a few months ago. Can they have a long term effect? There is a reason I am thinking this. I was hospitalised with a heart rate of 25 because 5mg of bisoprolol was too strong. Even several days being back on 1.25mg, my heart rate would not increase.
Avatar m tn 57 Male never on medication and gym rat. I have been on Atorvastatin 40mg since middle of March. It was prescribed by my cardiologist for slightly high cholesterol level 225. Along with BP Med Losartan 50mg. All of this started when I wasn't feeling very well one day in February and went to outpatient clinic. Since then I've had a heart monitor, CT scan of heart and angiogram. All normal except angiogram showed one 70% blockage.
