Anyhow, onto my question... In addition to depression, I struggle with anxiety and take 1 mg Ativan as needed, up to 3x/day. The Ativan helps with the anxiety but I've noticed if I have to take it for a few days in a row it really seems to affect my mood, in that I often feel even more depressed than I did before taking it.
Can U give me some kind of schedule to follow to ease this withdrawal please.I have been experiencing a little depression over this(and lack of activity),and want to make this transition to drug-free as simple as possible.I live in northern Canada,and the winter has been severe,so getting out for exercise has been difficult,but I do get out every day for walks,and have use of a swimming pool.....I have found that exercise helps,but it`s not easy this time of year.My current prescription is for .
Hi, welcome. Well, looks like it's been proven that there is nothing physically wrong w/ you, so it's gotta be mental. I do have to say you wrote you've been on no drugs for a month but then you said you take 1mg ativan to work. So, you are on a benzo daily. It's possible that weird feeling could be from the ativan. Do you take more than 1mg daily? That could have something to do w/ it. Benzos are strong. It definitely doesn't help your depression.
I am 78 years old. I have taken ativan for years for depression. Now the Doctor has prescribed Abilify 2mg to take along with the Ativan. Is this common?
After one month, when I realized that the Ativan was making me sicker, I went of immediately. I suffered some withdrawal symptoms and later learned that going "cold turkey" was not a good idea.
I began to get better, despite the withdrawal, but a few months later I had some very stressful experiences. I plunged into a clinical depression that left me completely debilitated. I was terrified to take anything else, but eventually gave in to Prozac.
Have been taking Ativan for seven years with an extremley high does for my Chronic Lyme disease. Had to take Valium to try and get off of it. Experiencing depression, anxiety, no sleep, crazy thoughts, and sezuires. I have had a lot of stressors in my life. Including my mom being sick,my father was unfaithful and is a severe pathological liar, money issues, and family issues. The weird thing is that is hit all at the same time I'm going through withdrawal.
gave them to me for anxiety ans spasams didnt like them at all to much of a zombie for me, so i told him that i didnt care for them and so he started me on the trazodone for anxiety and insominia i take i50 mg twice a day and it has really done well by me it also is the bomb for the creepy crawly rls. it is also used for depression/ bipolar and forcocaine withdrawal. i also take seraquil 200 mg twice a day. i sleep just fine and stay asleep too. talk to your dr.
I would like to discontinue atarax ( do i need to taper and could it cause me to have a wobbly ) given i am still having ativan withdrawal symptoms (tinnitus muscle twitching and bad anxiety)
Also is there any danger of slowing down my recovery from ativan if i took valerian and passion flower and st johns wort
I have heard that valerian and passion flower can make your symptoms worse.
Yeah, it's the same manufacturer. Thank God it is over now and the only thing that is a little out of whack is my equilibrium.
Thanks for the Valium, Ativan advice. I have been on Ativan before, but hadn't thought about it. Pretty sure my doc will be okay with that.

Are you on a very slow taper with Ativan? It has to be slow or you won't feel good at all.
Have you let the doctor know how you're feeling?
You were prescribed a long acting, lower potency benzo, and a short acting, high potency benzo at the same time, both for an "as needed basis"?
How often did you take each type? Was the idea that a long stressful day required a Klonopin, and a sudden attack that needs immediate results required Ativan?
How long have you been completely off of the Valium (and benzo's altogether)?
I'm a 39 male with major depression and GAD. I take Celexa 40mg, Ativan 1mg, and Trazodone 100mg at bedtime. But the meds don't seem to work for my insomina. Can I add unisom or not a good idea to take also? I hate call my dr. tommorrow and tell him the meds aren't working for me. I have taken Ativan, Trazodone, and unisom to help me sleep before. My doc switch the Celexa from morning to nighttime tonight. And I was taking Ativan 3x a day now only at night or when needed.
Sorry. I was prescribed the meds for postpartum depression. I've been taking them and tapering for 3 years. I've never felt "happy" even with all these meds. I dont like the thought of taking meds for the rest of my life if I really dont need them. Before having my daughter I would experience depression at times, I'd say situational depression really, but nothing that I thought of taking medication for.
HI,I have been on 1 mg of klonopin since jan 09 and i have gained weight and have developed depression,this has happened to me on Klonopin before so my dr just today switched me to 1/2 mg ativan3 times a day and says i should ahve no withdrawal from the klon,im a bit scared that i might have withdrawal..........has anyone switched like this before with no problems or had problems with klonopin causing the issues i discussed........
I was switched from ativan to xanax 14 days ago and im feeling kinda more depressed would xanax do that..
I am on 40 prozac and ativan as needed for depression and anxiety. Before i was on prozac i had never had a panic attack,and while i dont blame stopping prozac for the panic attacks, i know i will never be able to funtion now without it. The depression i feel i have a hold on, but the anxiety is unbearable without the prozac, and only partially controlled on it.
d take more Ativan to help with the anxiety. THEN, when I stopped having to take the Ativan so much, I realized I was going through withdrawals from the Ativan, too. Horrible. So, yeah, I only take it as prescribed now. It scared me straight on that one. I think that was worse for me than the opiate withdrawal for some time.
ve reduced my daily in take of Xanax by 1/3 and started slowly with the Ativan. Some withdrawal symptoms crop up with taking less Xanax so I am being careful. My doctor's directions were "take it slow and just play with it". I didn't expect him to give me a precide "how to" pamphlet, but I'm looking for some coaching on what to expect and what I should be aware of as I proceed. I also take Wellbutrine and Dexedrine. Advice is welcomed. Thank you.
Ive been taking xanax for two months now. And he wants me to take lorazepam 1mg intead of the xanax. Will I get withdrawal symptoms of the xanax? Thanx....
