Zofran, Ativan, Phenergan, Vistaril, Kytril, etc... Zofran being the best and most expensive Second being kytril and ativan. Kytril is expensive so if you don't have health insurance Ativan (Lorazepam) is a better option.
Bottom line give the medicine some time 2-3 months at the most or switch to Dilaudid, there's also Fentanyl patches...
My last surgery was the first week of September, This all began mid March 09. I was on morphine which I tapered myself off of after the surgeries. I was admitted to the hospital before the lasytsurgery for sever abdominal pain without any etiology. Every test showed that my stomach was ok. They used dilaudid instead of morphine bevcause I had worked so hard to taper iff the morphine. I did not know that dilaudid was more addicting and more powerful.
Yeah my friend takes Ativan, and one time she stopped taking them, and had a bad seizure...

I've had severe cluster\migriane\tension headache for 30 years, and have tried literally every possible drug\therapy option, to no avail. Just so you know, the pain or almost suicidal but for having access to fiorinal with codeine for almost 30 yrs.
To keep it real, I do use them when no headache, but then have to make sure I leave enough for the real deal. My wife keeps the pills so I don't take to many or run out.
To Mary: I read about the serious side effects when Valerian Root and and a benzodiazepine (like Ativan, Valium, Xanax) are combined in a Anxiety Disorder book I had when I was having severe anxiety while back. My psychiatrist prescribed Valium for sleep and Xanax for panic attacks and anxiety during the day. She told me to never take them together even though they were in same class of drugs.

Welcome to the forum.. I have to be honest with you from the start.. taking Adivan and drinking.. bad idea unless yo do not mind lapses in memory.. the jerking and stuff.. You are ODing on all the meds you are taking.. Gosh I know you want to sleep but I must be honest.. If I were taking 4 Adivan a day I would be looped.. then mixing it with all the other stuff.. no wonder you are seeing weird things.. If you are serious of getting out of your addiction.. stop drinking and flush the Adivan..
I'm worried about the weight gain with Zyprexa, is there something else that could be used with the Prozac instead? Also until now I've also been taking 1 mg. Ativan in the morning and 1 mg Ativan before bed. Is it safe to use Ativan with the Zyprexa?
Fentanyl is an extremely difficult detox if you do it CT. I was on 75 mcg every 48 hours along with 60 mg of oxycodone, 90 mg Cymbalta, 3 mg/day Ativan, 10 mg. Ambien and lots of other stuff. I've been on nearly every pain med with the exception of methadone and suboxone.
I had some underlying health issues that would have prevented me from going CT, but even with tapering I was in and out of withdrawals and they were still tough.
I currently take 100mg of Kadian in the morning. I also have 30mg Morphine IR for breakthrough pain - have not been taking these much at all - maybe twice a week.
I am just tired of taking the Kadian - too many side effects and I do not want to be on so many meds anymore - trying some different things now like vitamins (lots), exercise etc ...
My pain doctor that prescribed the Kadian last year is no longer with the practice and I am dreading finding a new doctor.
on a side note...im detoxing from just morphine, so i'm not to sure what role the other things you're quitting will play in the recovery. i guess try the natural stuff before too much more of the benzos.
I am supposed to begin by taking half of a pill of of the zoloft for the first week then to go to a whole week after the first week. I was given the Ativan to help me with my anxiety attacks and also for insomnia. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this combo and had any luck and also wondering of any kind of side effect issues i may have until i adjust to the drugs? I was previously on Lexapro and .5 of ativan and switched today to the Zoloft and bumped up the mg of ativan to 1 mg.
I have a 17 year old daughter who suffers from Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome and severe anxiety and panic attacks. She takes 1 mg of Ativan twice a day if needed when she feels an episode coming on or if an episode has started. In the past 9 weeks she has taken approximately 20 ativan when she was having an episode of vomiting or panic.
