Avatar n tn Hello everyone i know this is kinda of a old post, but anyways i recently ran out of my Soma 350mg, Ativan 2mg and Hydrocodone 10/325mg.... I ran out of all 3 medications on the same day on 5-18-2010. I have been taking Ativan 3 times ED, Soma 3 times ED and Hydrocodone 4 times ED for 3 months 120days.....
Avatar n tn I've been subscribed hydrocodone and ativan for my pain and panic attacks for 3 yrs., well my Dr. has retired and I'm left without,,,, guess what,,,,,,,, I'm withdrawing and have been for about 2 wks. now, having flu like symptoms, weakness, nauseaus, diarhea, convulsions, ...... seem to be getting a little better, but how long is this going to last, got to work, can't have the "flu" forever, any help out there?
Avatar m tn Yes,the doctor gave you the Ativan just for this reason. Take it on a prn basis only. Your heart rate is rapid but not considered tachycardic. You're most likely having anxiety, which is to be expected. Maybe today the doctor will give you clonidine. It's a B/P med but helps considerably. V.
Avatar f tn I am desperately trying to taper myself off of hydrocodone. I am so sick of this medication. I tried cold turkey and ended up in the hospital. They sent me home with 60 10mg. and 10 ativan. I was taking 240 mg. a day. Which was prescribed for me. In the past two days I've cut down to 120. I don't know how to procede from here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have chronic back pain, stenosos, degenerative bone disease, and severe sciatica.
Avatar f tn I've made it 7 days. However, the anxiety had been so intense, i overtook my ativan, like three instead of two a day. so i ran out early. right now, i'm finding mhyself breaking ambient in half to calm down for anxiety until i can get my renewed script for ativan. one thing after another. is there anyone who has similar experience or problem with anxiety?
Avatar n tn I also am taking a regular routine of Ativan. So I can tell you with the Tramadol and ativan I have felt pretty good. I did find out that if you just go cold turkey on Tramadol you can have withdrawls as well and I'm terrified because that will happen with me tomorrow when I run out. Tramadol also does "cover" The Vicodin addiction and withdrawls but I personally believe that you you are on Tramadol long enough without Vicodin, this will get the vicodin out of your system.

Avatar m tn Ive had lots of pain, but this is a walk in the park compared to chemo. Is it gonna get worse? Im taking ativan every night to sleep, will that be hard to withdraw from? I havent taken any vicodin since saturday night! Someone tell me to flush my bottle please!!!
Avatar m tn I take Cymbalta for about12 yrs. I go on and off of hydrocodone. My lift from the depression is better when taking both. I go off of hydrocodone about every two months . So as to avoid addiction. I have noticed that I am depressed when I stop the hydro. Bad depression the kind where you need someone to sit with you for safety. Not taking hydrocodone is extremely difficult because with out it I am in 8-10 on the pain scale. I have had 6 spinal surgeries and I have no hope for any other surgery.
Avatar f tn We just back from the ER where the ambulance had to come to our house and pick him up after taking 7 ativan and I don't know how many ambien as well as some tylonol3 i think, on top of his regular meds of hydrocodone and morphine! AND HE is angry at me because I took all his meds away and throuhg the ativan away....we are both in recovery or at least I thought we were....I don't know the best track to take concerning this situation...right now he hates me.
Avatar m tn First epidural seemed to work better then second but, I had the hydrocodone. I really do not use the ativan that much. I would rather switch to more natural product. Yes had MRI that is why epidurals. I think if they would up the doseage of patch from 10 to 20 I would have no pain. Each day I seem to feel better. Is the patch habit forming? Does anyone know if you can take that nuycenta ( spelling ) that is supposed to work on the brain like opioids?
Avatar m tn My doctor has run many tests for autoimmune disorders and they all came back negative. I am on Arthrotech for hydrocodone for the pain and it works pretty well. About a year ago I had a bad flu and developed welts on my legs that turned into sores and then scarred over. Anyone else experiencing this?
1160764 tn?1267113859 Ever since my first child was born I have not been interested in sex at all, I will go through with it to make my husband happy, but I have no desire, we have tried many differnt things to help me but so far nothing has worked, we had a great sex life before we had children, and I am scared I am going to lose him over this, what can I do? I am on Ativan now for about 6 days and Celexa for about a year, recently came off of a hydrocodone addiction of 2 years.
528816 tn?1227186706 I was taking ativan too but only 2-3 mg a day. I say only because I quit c/t, and never looked back. However, my bigger problem was that I was taking copious amounts of Hydrocodone as well, so maybe my body didn't "need" the Ativan. I have heard Ativan and Xanax are the worst of the benzos. I didn't realize there are about 15 different kinds, and found a website with tons of good information regarding how to taper, and information about the drugs you are taking as well..
984658 tn?1248808740 Hello all... I am now on my second day of coming off hydrocodone 10/325. I was taking anywhere from 10 to 15 a day and absolutely had to have them! I would wake up and immeadiately chew 4 of them just to wake up! I chewed them so they would get into my system much faster.... I have read many answers on this forum and some have been very helpful. I don't know the best way to detox from home. I do not have any med insurance and have been taking these little jewels for about 1 year.
926462 tn?1284819011 I came in for the first time a couple of days ago, and I really did get some great input that I have taken to heart. That's why I'm here. Anyway, I'm coming off of Norco, and Hydrocodone. You thought it might be best that I not try to taper, However, I almost always go with what works for me. For some reason everything works opposite to what it should. For example: downers are uppers, and uppers are downers.
1176246 tn?1415011917 (old one cut me off of opiates and Benzos) for 2 weeks and then did a 5 week Ativan taper with new dr. The shelf life of Ativan means it stays in your system longer, Xanax is the fastest acting benzo. The WD is hard, but so worth it. Sleep is hard to come by coming off both opiates and Benzos at about the same time but I'm sleeping well now with melatonin. My anxiety has gotten much better too; it was out of control during WD, but it gets better.
Avatar f tn Ive been taking 2 mg of a suboxone strip every 3-4 days , I have extender restless legs that keep me from getting any rest/sleep. Ido not want to swap hydrocodone for subs so what's the correct way to taper SHORT TERM... Please help I know the longer I take sub the longer it's gonna take to get off!!!!
1506137 tn?1296864320 Have been taking between 30-60mg of Hydrocodone per day for the past two years. Ran out and can't get any from the usual sources. Today is the first day in two years that I haven't had any. Rough day! I ache like crazy, my back hurts and I am so tired I can barely stay awake. No time like the present to try to kick this habit once and for all. I need to know what to expect though and how long these symptoms will last. I also developed cold-like symptoms today - can't quit sneezing.
941046 tn?1250638829 She talked to the doctor and he wants to try me on ativan so see if that helps before considering stronger options. He also ordered another ultrasound of my abdomen to see if anything has changed. This whole ordeal has been very frustrating and I'm sure the stress isn't doing me any good. Does anyone out there have any ideas for something else I could be doing?
Avatar f tn I went to the er and they said it was an acute injury of my back and sent me home with Ativan .5 mg to take with the hydrocodone. Still did nothing. I know not to up my dose on my own, but how do I talked to my pc with out him thinking I'm a drug addict?
796687 tn?1237333243 Because of residual nerve damage from surgery I continued to use hydrocodone for a good year plus. Then the doctor put me on lorozapam to help deal with the anxiety...hydrocodone still...for the pain. After awhile Doctor suggested Tramadol...it was not as addictive as hydrocodone, etc. Continued on with both Lorozapam and hydrocodine untill about 6 months ago when the doctor suggested Cymbalta for the depression and took me off Tramadol.
Avatar f tn well,im back....i posted about 2 years ago....did two days n went back. Avatar f tn I am 12 weeks pregnant and I started taking Fioricet with codeine today for severe migraines. I had a short experience with hydrocodone/oxycodone addiction in the past and I am worried. Will I relapse? Will the baby be OK? My OB voiced more concern over the codeine ( he does not know about previous addiction), rather than the barbituate in the Fioricet. I have had severe depression since age 6 with one suicide attempt at a younger age and have received ECT for depression.
Avatar n tn I don't know anything about taking clonidine & valium together. I quit hydrocodone cold turkey & had been on it for ~6 years. The dosage/day varies throughout that time. Congratulations on your decision to get clean. The w/d symptoms aren't easy to deal with but if you MAKE yourself get up & take a short walk or do small chores around the house, it does definitely help. Keep posting to this forum.
Avatar m tn i started hydrocodone 15 months ago and 4 months ago added oxycontin. i now take 80 mg hydro once a day and 180 mg oxy in am and 60 mg oxy in pm. if im honest id have to say i do it for the buzz!! i have ruptured discs in back but im ready to stop the meds. im limited to what i can take...i cant take nsaids (non steroid anti inflammatory drug). im scheduled to go to a detox on monday (2 days from now) but am really scared of the wd. they tell me they will give me ativan to help with wd.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your responses.... True... Ativan is the one and only drug that I'm on... I know it's not good... but when the panic comes on.... And I work with about 50 employees mind you... It's the only thing that gets me through the shift without freaking out in front of them... The "fight or flight" kicks in...and I can't run away... I have a very demanding position at my job... I'm only taking 1mg ativan before work and 1mg ativan before bedtime...
Avatar m tn Anyway I have been with this replaced doctor for a yr and a half, I had been explaining to him that 2 vicaprofen in a 24 hour period is not sufficient he by the way had taken me off the motrin and changed my Xanax to Ativan. I also have been on sonata 10 mg for all these yrs. I was given a urine test which is pretty normal, before I took it I told him that there would prob. not be hydrocodone in it as we had been discussing that I needed more pain relief.
