Avatar f tn I think the headache was from something else and not the ativan. Woke up this morning with no headache and took .25mg of ativan and no headache. We'll see what happens later today.... I'm a bit sedated right now on just .25mg. too.
4753943 tn?1359934569 Could Ativan cause a headache? I took .25 mg last night and got a headache once it kicked in. I thought it was just from the panic attack. But my headache never went away over 24hrs later. It's a dull, constant pain. I've also felt foggy all day. Could it be the medication?
Avatar m tn I have more energy is the main thing because my meds make me a bit drowsy. If I go too long I get a wicked headache. If I get the headache then I know I missed a dose. Mine are antipsychotics and mood stabilizers though so that is a big of a different beast versus benzo's. Most benzo's are also mild muscle relaxers so mixing the two could be part of what happened as well. I wouldn't take muscle relaxers with any mood meds personally. Unless prescribed by a doctor.
Avatar f tn Hi how long were you on ativan? you should never stop benzoes quickly, please send message back to let me know.
1538831 tn?1294199202 Hi everyone, ive been taking ativan for about 2 months on and off. I ran out 2 days ago and my perscription cant be filled until jan12th. Yesterday i had a bad panic attack, and then was anxious and in a daze like state the rest of the day. Today i have been anxious all day with headache, and random anxiety symptoms, very nervous and very bad unreality feelings. Im not sure if this is just do to anxiety or ativan withdraw?
Avatar n tn Also, be very careful trying to substitute another medication (Ativan) for the one you are supposed to take. That is a job for your doc. Ativan and Klonopin, while both benzos, are very different in their half lives and duration. Plus there isn't a gold standard in equivalent doses. Please call your doctor first thing in the morning to get this straightened out. This isn't something you should be doing on your own. Let us know how you're doing!!
422220 tn?1256764529 Tossed and turned for hours then got a horrific headache, chills, hot flashes, and the inability to stay vertical for any amount of time. I also had a scratchy throat. I figured I had either a really bad reaction or I have the flu. I took my temperature earlier today and it was 96.8. I have a doctor's appointment at 4:45 but I thought I would ask you all (During one of my rare vertical moments) if you know much about Paxil and liver function.
Avatar f tn was using Ativan o.5 mg for a year, and I am experiencing strange symptoms such as horrible pain and pressure in my jaw and buzzing in my ears. I also have anxiety and skin crawling. I have had so many tests done on my body, all coming back normal. Many listed symptoms of Ativan withdrawl, I think this may be due to the Ativan, however, I have used such a small amount, 0.5mg, once a day. I cannot find information how to taper off this small amount?
1351229 tn?1277518670 WHen I take 0.5 mg of Ativan it takes the pressure away but I cant take that forever. I started taking Lexapro 2 days ago and the pressure now turned into a weird headache..
Avatar n tn Not really sure if that is ativan that did that to you or not.I took a ativan which i didn't have any symptoms but then again people are different so not sure..
672389 tn?1226138251 I was a bit worried because after the first night I took it I had a pretty nasty headache the next day and thought it might have been a side effect. But the headache hasn't come back, only blissful sleep. Now, I've never been a big dreamer and I've heard that some people experience nightmares on Trazodone. I have dreamed every night so far, but they have ranged from normal every day experiences to euphoric dreams.... so I'm not complaining! The are magic pills.
Avatar f tn Like I put in an earlier post I have been off zopiclone for 9 days now think I have managed the worse part but not sure , I still feel out of sorts, slightly nervous and muscle and neck ache, but heres the real question for all who would help My husband is taking me to punta cana sunday morning and the drugist says he thinks the worst is over too but thinks I should bring the existing prescription with me, I do take prestiq which im not in a big hurry to get off of but unsure as to what to do, a
Avatar m tn 2 beers my ativan withdrawal symptoms are worse for 3-4days I was told this is due to brain sensitivity from the ativan.? I would also like to discontinue the atarax but am afraid i will hit a wobbly, therefore if i can find a natural substitute for anxiety that will not mess with my ativan withdrawal i would use it. If i do wish to try and reduce the atarax do i need to taper it?
Avatar f tn This causes first a blurring of vision followed by a horrid headache. A headache specialist can diagnose if this is what you're suffering. Meditation has proven to be pretty good at controlling this, as it helps keep your blood flow even, as does regular exercise provided you're eating properly first. But you need a diagnosis, and as stated already, we can't give you that.
Avatar n tn I felt insane after taking it and started having horrible thoughts and the whole next day I bad anxiety. Will I have this reaction to all benzos? I also have Ativan but have never taken it. I got the Xanax from a doctor in urgent care and my psychiatrist prescribed me Ativan, he told me to try both to see which one I liked better (not on the same day of course). But now I am terrified to try the Ativan after the way Xanax made me feel. Will it have the same reaction?
Avatar f tn I have recently started to take b-12 tabs and (before the attack) am feeling better. Anyone hear of this having a side effect? Also, anyone ever have a headache from ativan? almost like a mild hangover and it is only .5.
Avatar f tn I just have a basic question, I read alot about how addictive Ativan is. I have been on it for approx. 3 months. It started as a med to help me sleep, so 1mg a night, then as the anxiety worsened, I was taking it 3 times a day. I would say in the last month, I have days where I take only 2, some days where I take one, and others when I take 1/2 twice a day. It really depends on my day, what I am doing and how I am feeling.
221913 tn?1372276661 Boy..., this headache (migraine) is back with a vengeance! I was thinking about the Ativan 2.mg that I'm on which is the strongest they make, and I ran out day before yesterday (obviously because I was probably taking more than I was supposed to (I'm not going to lie about that; I do get them re-filled on Monday), but I could very well be experiencing withdrawals from the Ativan too! Boy, what did I get myself into?
Avatar f tn Then my senior year I started seeing stars and patterns and I thought I was going to faint at my desk, I got my worst headache ever that night. My headaches increased in frequency from there. Then we found I had Arnold Chiari I in my C-1 and I had Occipital Neuralgia. We tried the Beta Blockers, the triptans, Amitriptaline, Antidepressants, Bio Feedback, Nerve Blocks, Cryogenic Therapy , celebrex, and the narcotics.
Avatar f tn I also learned that Ativan is highly addicting. I actually had to wean off of Ativan and it was challenging. I had awful nausea, fatique, vomiting, loss of appetite. It is odd that your Dr. didn't wean you. That just doesn't seem right. Maybe you need a new doctor. Ativan does make you tired along with all the other symptoms you described. I can honestly say it does work...give it 20 minutes to kick in. Becareful in using it long term. Only take it when you need it.
Avatar m tn When to Dr, , did all the tests, everything came back okay, , told me it was GAD. Perscribed .5MG ativan to take as needed. I started to only take "as needed" for the 1st few week along with counceling and increased exersise and eating right. Symptoms would seem to be gone 1 day and back the next, When they starting in the Morning the day was usually bad.. a week ago i decided to take .25mg ativan befor waking each AM and i have had the best week since this all began.
Avatar f tn The eyelid above my right eye has occasionally over the years turned red as if sunburned, and has been accompanied by headache, and pressure.Taking an Ativan stops it, if it hasn't gotten too bad. For about the last month, my right shoulder is rigidly tight. There is a big muscle in there which runs up my neck, and gets really hard.It is sore to touch, from being tense.Heat seems to help the muscle.
Avatar n tn Even opening my eyes makes me nauseous and gives me a headache. Im not a person that cries regularly but ive been so nauseous and in pain ive bawled 4 times in 2 days. The only other thing ive been taking is the lowest dose of ativan 3 times daily, ran out about the same time as the cymbalta, and started at the same time as cymbalta, So my question is, is this some kind of withdrawal from either drug? I would think only one month wouldnt be long enough...
358304 tn?1409709492 27 male. Anxiety sufferer. For 3 years I have taken ativan on and off as needed for anxiety spells. Some spells last days, weeks, and some even a month or so. But I always wean off the ativan (usually .5mg, sometimes 1mg if severe) This year I was doing fine, then had a really bad anxiety spell, that was just a huge downward spiral... my ativan wasnt even working. I had to take three .5mg tablets one night just to relax. I called my Dr. who unfortunately was out of the country for 2 months!
1208858 tn?1265919689 i went to my dr on monday for regular checkup and med refills and she recomended i try xanax in place of the ativan that i've been on for years well tuesday evening around bedtime i started having trouble breathing, rapid heart beat, panic nausea my husband rushed me to hospital they took my vitals b/p 182/165 felt like throat was closing up and mouth dried out they put oxygen on me kept my blood pressure going every 15 min hooked me up to ekg machine and mixed me up what they called a
Avatar f tn I have been suffering in extreme headache everyday since March 1 2011. Took Panadeine, and other paracetamol for pain but no relief. The severe pain on top of my head often attacks from 5:00 am to 9:00 am. I also have neck pain and numbness in my right leg. I had CT scan and MRI and was diagnosed with Type 1 Chiari Malformation. The Neurologist said I do not need any surgery. The constant pain has nothing to do with Chiari as the pain is caused by stress.
Avatar f tn They did an EKG and of course, it was sinus tach, so they gave me Ativan.....long story short, I was admitted for the high heart rate, the Ativan bottomed my blood pressure everytime I stood and I too, slept for over 24hrs. I was put on Metoprolol succinate 12.5 once a day nad that has prevented my HR from geeting too high(now it only gets up to 140-150 if Im excited, before it was 200bpm). As far as surgery, I was told that I would have to stop it one day prior to the surgery.
Avatar n tn I had originally been prescribed Klonopin and it made my chest tighten up worse...I was switched to Ativan immediately. Ativan is gentle and you feel like yourself again. Everybody brain chemistry is different so don't take something that isn't working for you...I'm sure your doc. would agree. Get in there ASAP and stop your suffering.
