ativan hallucinations

to give me Ativan because that is what i needed the most so the DR. gave me Ativan. I was in the hospital for 3 days and well on Ativan i did not have another Seizure. I am at home now the DR. wrote me a script for Ativan to take every 8 hours 1mg. I am talking i had 2 serious seizure i don't remember nothing when i fall to the pavement or when i had one laying on my couch. Another thing that is similar to other people on here.

Hi, after many years of using clonazepam for anxiety and sleeplessness I've tapered off with a doctors help. I haven't had any for about 2 wks. I was wondering, I keep seeing hallucinations in my pereferial vision like spiders crawling and bright lights and circles of colours and designs. also I'm experiencing the sensation of bugs crawling on my skin with lots of itch, and an uncomfortable feeling like as if bugs were crawling under my skin. I know these things aren't happening.

Hi, I need some help my sister has gone cold turkey after 3 years at high dose of methadone. She was at 150 and dropped to 90 then cold turkey. It has been 10 days and the hallucinations are getting really out of control. She has been checked in to the hospital because the methadone has done extreme damage to her liver and they are very worried about that. But are not doing anything to help with the methadone wihdrawls.

could it be the ativan causing her to hallucinate? or perhaps the ativan is precipitating a previously hidden medical condition? I would not think that WD's would cause hallucinations especially after 2 weeks...good luck and keep us posted please!

was using Ativan o.5 mg for a year, and I am experiencing strange symptoms such as horrible pain and pressure in my jaw and buzzing in my ears. I also have anxiety and skin crawling. I have had so many tests done on my body, all coming back normal. Many listed symptoms of Ativan withdrawl, I think this may be due to the Ativan, however, I have used such a small amount, 0.5mg, once a day. I cannot find information how to taper off this small amount?

Hi ativan(larazepam) is a benzo and it is one of the hardest benzoes to wean of and should be done extreamly slowly and with alot of support, I beg you to get your mum to another g.p shout............................... and let them hear that your not happy at the way your mum is. thinking of you both Janis.

My father (74 yrs) is heavily addicted to ativan. He used to take 10mg ativan daily? after lot of persuation and meeting with doctor doses has come down to 6 mg. But he is having withdrawal symptoms, like, palpitation, bouts of depression, confusion etc. The doctor has suggested to taper the dose, 6mg to continue for 4 weeks, then 5mg for 4 weeks, then switching over to campose and then again tapering. Will you please suggest me what should be the right tapering regime?

You HAVE to wean off of ativan. You could get SO sick. Seizures. Hallucinations. It's bad! You can't just stop taking it after that long. So, for sure talk to the doc about that.....the one you are still seeing, maybe?

I recently went to the hospital, to help with the withdrawals, and I am still having panic attacks like every five minutes. Please tell me if hallucinations and auditory hallucinations are common and how long will they last.

I have been on prozac, effexor and other anti depressant meds and have been able to come off gradually with only a weeks worth of side affects that were tolerant.

Some people have psychiatric symptoms get worse or appear after taking an antipsychotic like a guy I just talked to today took a low dose of risperdal for anxiety and he started having hallucinations after taking it. Everyone is different really and their brains adjust to things differently.

I am learning so much about bipolar and I have found that I have, in fact, been having mild hallucinations my whole life. I have not talked a lot to anyone about it in my family or any of my friends. I'm afraid they will think I'm super crazy and reject me or not let me around their kids because they think I'm dangerous. I just want some insight about how to approach the subject. Has anyone experienced hallucinations while not being entirely depressed or manic? I have been diagnosed as BP II for almost 3 years and have never experienced hallucinations until now. I feel like I see things in my peripheral vision that are really not there. I have also occasionally heard things as well. Mood wise, I feel very stable. So this is completely alarming.

I used to have audio hallucinations a long time ago before I was stabilized but all of a sudden I am starting to hear voices. I am not schizophrenic or psychotic (yet). I have Bipolar Disorder and have been going thru a lot of stress lately. My theraist siad it was just a symptom at this point and it is probably caused by stress. She told me to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse to tell my mental health care provider... I have an appointment with her on Sept 7th.
