I started 5 mg Celexa 5 days ago and the doctor gave me .5 mg Ativan for just in case. My question is how long until the Celexa starts working? If I use the Ativan too often will it effect how the Celexa works? How hard are these to come off of?

I've taken ativan on oand off for 2 years. If I feel an episode of anxiety coming on I pop one 5mg pill immediately. It seems to work great for me. I have used it to fly, (which I hate doing) it calms me so much. What will you be taking it for?

But I can tell you, that im 37 weeks prego, and my anxiety has been at its WORST over the last 3 months. My OB did prescribe ativan-- 1mg every six hours as needed. BUT i try to not take it more then once or twice a day if i even have to do that. But my OB says that the way my anxiety is the benefits definatly outweigh the risks. good luck.

Hello everyone. My fiancee is bipolar 2 and has been prescribed Ativan in addition to her mood stabilizer. Her psychiatrist wants her to take it 3 times a day every day. She stopped taking it about 2 months ago when she ran out and to both of us seemed to be much improved in the area of low moods. She recently saw her doctor again and he is adamant that she follows his orders of 3 times a day or at least every day before bed.

Has anyone else had to take xanax during there pregnancy? I am 33 weeks and have only taken two .5mg doses in the last week. I just seem to have more anxiety at the end here. I haven't taken any in my 1st & 2rd trimester. my doc gave me ativan in my second trimester that I have taken maybe a handful of times. She said the xanax was ok too if I absolutly needed it. The reason I have swithed to the xanax lately is because I get releif faster than with the ativan.

I also forgot to ask if this could possibly be some remnants of Ativan withdrawal. I stopped taking Ativan on Feb 23 and took 1.5 mg daily for approximately one month. Could the increased anxiety be withdrawal? I've also noticed that I've been seeming to have slight hot flashes at times. This was a symptom I never really experienced until I stopped the Ativan, but it only happened once at night.

They gave me some ambien and a prescription for ativan. After the ambien ran out I was on ativan and it quickly became my new addiction. I was up to 9mg a day, which doesn't sound like much but for this drug its A LOT. This drug gave me the ultimate withdrawals as I quit cold turkey which is not how to stop using the drug, however I was tired of having yet another vice. So Im a firm believer that ativan is a horrible drug for any addict.
