You seem very informative about sleep apnea. I've yet to be diagnosed but after a couple of months of researching my symptoms and a visit to the ER in 2 months, I've finally concluded that I have a severe case of Obstructive sleep apnea. Prior to dozing off I'd feel my lungs and stomach collapsing knocking all air out of me, causing my heart to palpitate and loss of oxygen to my head. I'd wake up in a panic gasping for air.

Vicki gave you some good advice about speaking with our Dr. The memory loss and confusion is very understandable taking ativan and going through wd. actually the ativan should be tapered. it is notorious for memory loss complete wipe out. usually through drinking with them but if you are dehydrated and coming off opiates it is very probable. Congratulations on getting clean and learning about your addiction and the meds that feed it. Take good care of yourself.
My physicican has only prescribed the ativan - I have obtained the pain pills and xanax through friends because of the anxitety and pain associcated with divorce and loss of a close friend. I''m sure my doc will get it alll stratighteend out but cant get appointment for several days and dont want to to too much harm. Botttom line - the pain pills work best, xananx second, and ativan (which is presrcribed doesnt work to well).
Ask him about increasing the Zoloft and tapering off the Ativan. The Ativan can give you withdrawal and strange symptoms. Missing one dose does cause changes that you can feel.

It progressed to having blurry vision and double vision on and off with now full body tremors all the time, all day, all night. Ativan doesn't stop the tremors, neither does the sleeping medication.
Now I have no appetite at all, my eyes get blurry, flashing lights and of course I am tired. I did have Bells' Palsy during this too which has resolved somewhat.
I was prescribed oxycodone many years (9)for my back and a few years earlier (11)ativan. Now I am not prescribed either and have had access to oxycotin and ativan for years. Problem is I want off both and my being able to get ativan is running out. I went to the local clinic and told them the truth, nothing was said about the opiates and I was giving a few days supply of ativan to get me through the weekend since this clinic visit was on a Friday night. Geodon is known to cause weight gain and I have experienced weight gain on both Depakote and Seroquel and requested that my psychiatrist discontinue both medications, which he did do.
The bright side however, is tat with propeer diet and exercise the weight did come off and I had gained 40 pounds.
The problem is finding the right medication or combination thereof that will control your symptoms and not cause weight gain.
I'm 23 years old and i had a knee replacement in Jan. Ever since then, i have been sick with loss of appetite, weight loss, headaches, fatigue, feeling weak, and tachycardia. I've seen Doctors from NY to PA and no one has a clue why. The only thing that has me puzzled is my LFT was slightly elevated and no Dr has taken that to account. My right side does not hurt and not enlarged according to doctor's physical exams.
Now that I have stopped taking Geodon, I would like to know if anyone out there has been through the same experience with weight gain AND if weight loss is a side effect of coming off of Geodon? If not, is it easier to lose weight once you are off of the medication? I have my mind back and now I want my body back! Hope to hear some good news!
10 days of vics, i think I was bloated before and its coming off, so yea I think you can gain weight on the pills. I took ativan at first and it helped come down off the real high anxiety moments, but I feel good now, and you will too. Just stay posting, it has helped me so much. Good luck, start drinking tons of water, it helps.
Some people complain about weight gain while on SSRIs like Paxil and others even complain about weight loss. What has been really helpful for me is ensuring that I watch what I eat and exercise regularly. Remember, quite often, or weight gain has more to do with our lifestyle than what we are taking sometimes in my experience. Do you exercise regularly and watch what you eat? Keep us posted!
Before you try Cymbalta, it can also be very stimulating, and there's also evidence being considered now by FDA about liver toxicity, so just be careful out there. Ativan shouldn't be a weight gainer, but it is an addictive med and probably won't be used for you long-term. The weight gainers tend to be the less-stimulating anti-depressants, which are the ones unfortunately used for anxiety.
will start tomorrow im starting at 25mg but im cutting it into 1/4 four eight days then half for eight days then full.. its because i am such a light weight and always react to meds.
I'm worried about the weight gain with Zyprexa, is there something else that could be used with the Prozac instead? Also until now I've also been taking 1 mg. Ativan in the morning and 1 mg Ativan before bed. Is it safe to use Ativan with the Zyprexa?
i know lots who have gained weight on the pills you took, thats why i will not take them, i take klonopin/ativan if i need them, no weight gain and i can take as needed , i do not have anxiety everyday but if i do i take the klonoipin until i can get it under control than come off of it. ativan for a now and than thing. so yes weight gain is a side affect with thoses pills and i do know a few who did lose weight on wellbutrin. guess its your body type.
Also, I would be careful about adding an antihistimine in to the mix now as they potentiate the sleepers and can make you feel very strange and definately render you incapable of driving the next day. Check the info leaflet that comes with the ativan and make sure antihistamines are not contraindicated.
